For those who have question marks with this mod this simply steam fked up with mods, find leader libs in your steam workshop folder and copy it to your DOS2 mod folder

Can you add a way to get the mask outside of setting a preset? Right now this mod doesn't play nice with the mods that use the base presets to make changes to character creation or leveling up.

@Taril Could it be crits? most stat mods make spells crit. Otherwise it's probably some feature or part of a feature the mod dev forgot to list or didn't finish etc..

@Kodaxmax but that doesn't explain the singular isolation of jank damage.

When my high Int full Aero Mage is hitting with Air wands for 20 + 10 damage (Dual wield) and my full Con Warfare/Scoundrel Mimic is copying this Air wand attack for 80 + 80 damage something is amiss.

Especially when every other attack (Such as my Finesse Huntsman's bow attacks and my Str Warfare/Poly attacks) being mimicked end up doing about the same damage as the original attack.

Which is why I can't just solve the issue by changing the mimic damage settings, because it's not an overall issue it's just some attacks randomly deal obscene amounts of damage when mimicked for no reason.

@taril the inconsistent damage could be due to the mime having different stats to the caster. Eg.. if the caster has higher warfare, he will do more damage.

This mod is interesting. Though, I encountered some issues with not re-equipping weapons after mimicing (Both with Brawler Stance and regular weapons) as well as damage anomalies (Such as mimicing 20 damage wand attacks suddenly dealing 80 damage, while other mimiced attacks do normal damage)

Would be cool if there was an option to mimic enemies instead of allies. Could even be neat to have an option to only mimic attacks made against the mime, which would fit well with how tanky the mime ends up being if using the default CON primary stat.

How does this play on a Lone Wolf playthrough? I prefer Lone Wolf because it's easier to manage and feels more personal, but I'm afraid I won't be using the Mimic to its fullest potential.

I figured maybe my other companion could be a jack-of-all-trades, but I want some else's input first.

Been enjoying this mod with divinity unleashed, anyone know how to get past atrophy? seems like every magister winds up having tentacle lash.

I dismissed the mimic, intending to move him to another party member.
As he was moving away he walked through poison left from the fight, originating from my party.
He became hostile.
Amused, i proceeded to slaughter him.
After resurrecting him through the dialogue option when interacting with his body/ghost, he has become invisible and uninterruptible.

I have no idea if if this is fixable.

does this mod not work if you add it midgame? I can summon the mime with the music box but there is no option in the preset menu n talking to the mime after summoning it does not give me a mask.

unfortunately one thing that still does happen is the mimic losing their fist weapon at beginning of combat and beginning of new turn

wow i have actually found the issue and its simple. When i downloaded your mimicry mod i first downloaded it from nexus thinking that it was the same version as the one on steam. I just started playing with it today and was wondering why it wasent working so i came to the steam workshop page and found out the mod was on here too. So I looked at the dates for both versions and come to find out the steam workshop version is actually the most recent version so as soon as i downloaded and tried it ingame everything worked fine and i was very surprised to find out that i had a old version since i thought both nexus and steam workshop were on the same page. Sorry for wasting your time on this i was very confused to why it wasent working. thanks for your help anyways and i love all your mods i have a lot of them downloaded.

Don't really know for sure without a copy of your save. There's a lot of conditional checks going on to see if an action can be mimicked, and that the mime can mimic it.

ok yeah something is incredibly wrong here. I started a new test save and went to the guy with the music box bought it and went to the voidwoken on beach and used a basic attack with wands and the mimic literally just sits there and does nothing. Used debug option and it still didnt work. At this point it seems like their maybe a compatibility issue with another mod in the load order. Dont know which one but i do have a couple of class addition mods and i do have "divinity unleashed", dont know if that is the root cause. I have leaderlib and animationplus both installed.

yeah i used the debug feature a couple of times and used the other refresh feature also and its just not working at all. i guess it may be something that broke in save but what would cause that to happen?

Also I can't really say for sure if the summon option survived all the various updates. That's more of an unsupported tweak since it's initially disabled purposefully.

@Smokey That is weird. Did you try unequipping the mask? There's some debug options in the menu too for resetting things. Sounds like something broke in your save (like the Mime not meeting the requirements for mimicking). This wouldn't be a load order issue.

sorry for another comment but the mod in general is not working for me. The mimic character i have on my team is lohse and she doesnt mimic party members or even summons since i turned that option on in the mimicry settings. it seems the only things that work are the skills the mimicry give by themselves and the actual mechanic of the class doesnt work. I have no idea whats the problem. I have the mimicry mod at the bottom of my load order so it is very weird its core function is not working.

actually everytime the mimic starts a turn the weapon disappears and they dont even try to mimic any of my attacks or spells i use.

Currently trying this mod and I need some clarification: One of my party members is a wayfarer and the other a mimic, the aoe skills work as intended, aoe projectiles like fossil strike work but aiming them with the mimic is a bit weird, they don't target the enemy that I fossil strike at all, they just throw it towards where they are looking at, though if this is normal, then I just need some guidance on how to get better with it.

The actual issue is though that when I shoot an enemy with a crossbow, my mimic only punches the air and doesn't summon up a crossbow and shoot at the enemy. Do I need to actually have a crossbow equipped on my mimic or is this a bug?

Any chance you could alter the mask so that Lizards and Undead Lizards can wear it without A: their face going through it if their muzzle is long enough and B: without floating in mid-air and just looking silly? Please and thank you!
Also, does anyone know whether the silencing applied b the mask can be countered by Immunity to Silence? I know that would defeat the purpose, but there are going to be times where I wish I could combine Mimic skills with spells, etc.; of that I have no doubt.

Love the Class, Though You can't get the Mime Armor in anything other than the Base campaign. I was wanting to run this class in Pyramid of Shadows. Perhaps a sub-mod that starts you out with the Music box? or if the Armor could be added to the Masks Inventory or something like that would be nice.

Could you make it mimic enemy moves too? Make it toggleable or something via the settings dunno much bout modding so sorry if its too much. Kinda wanted a class that would be a react and counter if that makes any sense

Hello guys, i got a problem, it seems that the mime only mimic the aoe skill and special skill "that normal it can't mimic", and lose the brawler stance when enter in combat.

when i opened music box it gave the little cutscene animation then when that finished the game crashed(to desktop)

I am not sure if its this mod or a bug.. but I equipped all Mime skills after starting the game in Act 2 (using joyless Beginnings) and I gained 254 Attribute points.

Hello...really like the mod!! I am curious if you have thought about or would consider giving the Mimic an offensive buff(s) if they choose to disable Mimicry. Bleeding on attacks...increase to Double Strike chance...etc.

Hey thanks for the mod. Still trying to get the hang of facing. It seems to cast on the wrong spot. Other than that I finished a fight and now it says its overweight. Not sure how that happened as he dropped the decoy and hid for the rest of the match. I cant access its inventory as its grayed out as intended. I tried telling it to begone and resummoning and its still overweight.

For some reason mimicking heals the mimick. We are using Attribute Insanity 3.0, maybe there is a conflict with the constitution stat of that mod?

I still plan on supporting the vanilla stuff in this mod if I can, but it'll take some time to track down what the issue is.

You both need it, yes. My mod manager (linked on my profile or a few of my mod pages) can install the extender with a click, under the tools menu. Additionally the script extender auto-updates when the game is launched.

I'd say it's pretty crucial for a more enjoyable experience using mods nowadays, as depending on your amount of mods, it will cut the loading time down to a minute or two, from what would normally be 10+ minutes to get in a save. More mods are requiring it as well, mainly due to the fact it really opens mod-making up (Divinity Unleashed and Odinblade's Huntsman Overhaul require it).

Hmm, I suggest getting the script extender at this point, as it'll speed up mod loading for one, but also make my life easier, as I won't have to maintain two sets of workarounds then. :lunar2019laughingpig:

For instance, without the extender, to mimic weapons, I have to create an invisible character, transform them into the person we're mimicking, take their weapons, then finally remove the character.

With the extender, I can just duplicate the weapon.

So chances are the vanilla side of the rules here have a bug in them that the extender side does not.

@LaughingLeader I do not have script extender installed, the same problem persists even in a brand new game. It seems to occur when my other party members use their weapons and so when it gets to the mime's turn, I need to enter battle stance again and mimicking seems to be off even tho it has the status of mimicking still next to my portrait

@LaughingLeader hey, I've got a bug that seems to disable my brawler stance and stop me from mimicing inbetween my mime character's turns. Is this something that people have experienced before? any ideas? I've tried reloading the saves, doing all the debug options in mask settings and it still does it.

Long time no see @LaughingLeader i´m sorry to bother you, but again the mimic is failing, this time with another mod that before worked well the astronomer ( it breaks when casting a 3 fire pilars next to each other), here´s the log hopefully we can find a fix cause i haven´t been able to get past fort joy without the mimic having trouble. Also if it´s a thing that the mod insn´t updated in the save, how can i make sure i have the lastest one and the save file will use that one, since that was one problem i had in the past, hopefully not again. Thank you very much for your hard work. If you need anything else to work with that i could provide i´ll happily do it.
