Ah yeah I see the discussion section is still open now. But the description has this: "Please join our {LINK REMOVED} to report issues," and the regular comment section at the bottom still looks like its disabled.

Try viewing the page in an incognito tab? Maybe it looks different for the owner when logged in.

@brucethemoose sorry I'm not sure I follow?
It looks like the new page has a different layout, the comments etc are now tabs across the top of the page, confusing I know, it's not intentional I assure you.
brucethemoose 15 Apr, 2022 @ 2:29pm
@TwistedSoul I don't mean to hijack this comment section, but why are comments, discussions, and links all removed from the successor's page?

How are we supposed to give feedback?

Just wanted to say thanks for now. This mod has made the game more enjoyable for me, for months.
Starfield 20 Mar, 2020 @ 12:58pm
Yeah but due to 1.1 it also broke alot of mods.
Harmony may need to be required here.
But yeah i felt it got more unity tools.
pgames-food 13 Mar, 2020 @ 9:48pm
hi i think the new 1.1 version includes an updated unity..
but i dont know if that also supports the ssl version you mentioned too?
Thranos 9 Mar, 2020 @ 4:34am
Always enjoyed this mod.
Whatever happens or doesn't, nothing will change that.
Thanks for bringing it to us.

They're never going to give a modding kit for this, Ludeon is too busy rolling in money
TwistedSoul  [author] 19 Jan, 2020 @ 2:22am
As I've said before, GWP will return one day, with a complete rewrite when Ludeon give us a modding kit.
I'm tired of having to reverse engineer their junk and hack around the awful unity code.
Plus the Unity version is so old it doesn't support SSL properly making it really unsecure.

Good luck in all that you do!

What? 600 dollars a year??! Amazing!
pgames-food 19 Nov, 2019 @ 8:35pm
btw steve gibson made a free squirrel tool, maybe that can help you in some way too
Starfield 18 Nov, 2019 @ 1:41pm
Thanks for responding, thought I came on as strong; I understand that Rimworld uses code "DLLs" im working on a joke race (about the american penny). I thank you for telling me that a random hacker that can just change the download files to just extract data from my PC.

But i still think switching from straight C# to unity will still be a hassle. I mean a whole year or more, of radio silence. That will sound that the game is kinda dead. I mean yeah the new "Scenarios" post is actually good reaching out to some people to advertise their own way of telling a story but that's kinda it.

Also kinda cool that a modder' is going to more turf, it really shows that you are growing as a mod dev. (FYI, Software Inc looks like a p' solid Early Access game.)

Anyway, thank's for the years worth of fun. Now it's time to actually have saves that aren't dependent on GWP.
TwistedSoul  [author] 18 Nov, 2019 @ 10:58am
Just FYI, i'm currently exploring the modding scene for Software Inc ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
I have some ideas for adding networking capabilities there ( ͡~ ͜ʖ ͡°)
TwistedSoul  [author] 18 Nov, 2019 @ 10:56am
This mod is written in C# and Unity's embedded language choice is C# so no porting is required.

And it's not that I don't want to make mods, it's that it is incredibly difficult to do so correctly and more importantly, securely.

At this point in time, what I want to do is actually, impossible, with the current version of Mono .NET embedded runtime and Unity libraries.

Do you know, that any mod that you install for RimWorld, that uses code ("DLLs"), gives them full control over your PC? I could run anything I want or take anything I want.
TwistedSoul  [author] 18 Nov, 2019 @ 10:56am
This is why it's so important, for me, that a mod that uses networking, is that it is correctly and securely implemented so that the mod is not exploited or tricked into downloading some other random binary and executing privileged code on your computers.

Plus on the other side of the coin, there is the cost. At $600 a year to run. it's not cheap for a hobby, especially when people whine and don't contribute to it's upkeep.

The next version, I'm planning will allow me to control costs more effectively and hopefully a cost a lot less.

Thank you for the encouragement and well wishes.
Starfield 17 Nov, 2019 @ 12:46pm
You go on Rimworld to find out that your easy buying service is offline.
Then you check the comments and find it's actually.

END OF CHAPTER 1

But yeah, consider this the end because porting this from C++ to Proper Unity is basically making a Quantum Generator with a pile of socks. Yeah they will fix the memory leaks and game breakdowns later down the line, but 1.0 released is supposed to be the point they want the game to just flourish on it's own. This was a great experience but i'll take this message as, "raid you fat ass." But yeah mod dev kit's made like 2015 are bad but what are you gonna do? Stop modding? No you take your fat-ass up from the ground and keep making mods for them to enjoy. Take this comment as whatever you want. But understanding the flaws of the whole game in general is the first step to making your mods be the best. So go out and do your best; we are rooting for you.
Sgt.Schnitzel 11 Nov, 2019 @ 8:54am
Honestly thank you mate, no really, this mod was one i loved to use and i honestly hope you may have the best of luck in everything you do
Malikyte 10 Nov, 2019 @ 6:55pm
So in other words, it's the end. Cause I don't have high expectations of Ludeon doing any of that lmao
TwistedSoul  [author] 10 Nov, 2019 @ 1:23pm
Just so people know, this is not the end. I will start working on a better version of this mod in the future. But to do that I need Ludeon to release a proper mod developers kit and for them to update Unity and Mono. The current versions are ancient and dont support modern networking features like TLS and other things.
GodHatesYou! (EOA) 9 Nov, 2019 @ 9:34pm
Thats a real shame, i considered this a core mod. Thank you for all your hard work it was fun!
pgames-food 8 Nov, 2019 @ 8:59pm
nice one, i only got rimworld about 10 months ago (but now on about 486 mods) :)
TwistedSoul  [author] 6 Nov, 2019 @ 10:18am
Yeah GWP was up for over 3 years
pgames-food 5 Nov, 2019 @ 8:44pm
for gunner fox, i have seen a huge orbital trader which seem to buy everything,
im not sure which mod adds it, but i have these in my modlist which might contain it:

[1.0] Trading Economy Mod 3.1 | http://walkingproblem.com
Let's Trade! [1.0] |
The Rock Trade [1.0] |
pgames-food 5 Nov, 2019 @ 8:43pm
hi twistedsoul, im not sure if you were able to get any donations for the servers, but this mod had also inspired me when making rimside recycling (it was actually mentioned in the hopes and dreams section) :)

i regret that i havent finished/released all the content for it and didnt get a chance to try live trading, but if youve been offering this for a couple of years, its commendable :)
Malikyte 4 Nov, 2019 @ 5:11pm
So since GWP is kill, anyone using a mod that behaves similarly? Not necessarily the online transactions bit, GWP is the only mod I knew of that did that, but it'd be nice to have a mod that lets me dump all my excess shit into. GWP was a lifesaver for getting rid of things I had no use for and buying the stuff I actually needed.

RIP GWP.
TwistedSoul  [author] 31 Oct, 2019 @ 3:49pm
GWP is offline and will stay that way for the foreseeable future. Please see the Discord channel for more information.

TLDR: It's too expensive.
TwistedSoul  [author] 25 Oct, 2019 @ 4:41am
RimWorld.Building_Vent in get_Graphic is still the culprit, there might be another mod causing it
bourassd 24 Oct, 2019 @ 12:14pm
When I look into the buildings tab, i am immediately kicked out of the trade. same thing happens when scrolling through root or search for anything starting with V. i did CTRL+F12
so you could see whats up. I previously thought this was because of the wall vents mod, but I've since removed that mod and started a new colony and the problem persists.

Cinea 31 Aug, 2019 @ 5:47am
TwistedSoul. Please check out the amount of Flake sold in the last two weeks. I really think the price of Flake should have changed.
TwistedSoul  [author] 24 Aug, 2019 @ 6:26am
Prices can change by upto 10% a day
Cinea 24 Aug, 2019 @ 6:21am
The Prices of items rise and fall way to slow...
Because of that there is no medicine and no mortar shells on the market (beside other stuff like components).
TwistedSoul  [author] 18 Aug, 2019 @ 5:16am
Thank you kind sir
Mistletoe The Bard 17 Aug, 2019 @ 4:31am
Wow, this mod idea is mindblowing. Holy fuck. Take my bow, sir.
TwistedSoul  [author] 14 Aug, 2019 @ 6:09am
Otherwise people would save, place an order, then reload an older save where they still have the items they traded and still receive the order they placed. which would be abuse of the market mechanics
TwistedSoul  [author] 14 Aug, 2019 @ 6:08am
If you jump back in time. Your order is cancelled. If you save after placing an order, it will be delivered so long as you dont load an older version if that save.
Dat bAndy 14 Aug, 2019 @ 5:27am
So yeah - don't save/load after making a trade and untill your order arrives guys. Just wait it. I made a save after placing an order, tested some new stuff from other mods, and then reloaded the save and didn't receive the order after a few days of waiting. Lost ~40k of cash, which is almost all I had. So take care.
Tocsic 11 Jul, 2019 @ 2:27am
What does it mean with ''reactivate" on the trading thingy?
battlemage64 1 Jul, 2019 @ 11:52am
Oops, I meant C#. I'm not a good enough dev to make my *own* mods, much less yours. But thank you for replying.
TwistedSoul  [author] 1 Jul, 2019 @ 11:28am
All mods for RimWorld must be written in C# unfortunately so Java is a no go, unless you meant for a different game.

GWP has some documentation but it for devs only, I am looking for other devs to help me maintain it. So if you know C# and you're good at networking, let me know.
pgames-food 29 Jun, 2019 @ 3:42pm
yeah, the concept is very good and im actually making a 4th mod which hopefully will be able to work with multiplayer in some way (or at least, via this trading system) :)

(as far as i know, even if the usual 2 multiplayer mods cant support a particular mod in terms of functionality and dll files, without a lot of re-writing, i think this glitterworld prime mod, actually can in terms of items and using items) so fingers crossed we'll find out hopefully within a week :)
