Learn Skills Automatically - No Skill Books

I loaded this mod and my characters are level 4, which is the level where the second tier of skills becomes available from merchants. However, each character only has the starting skills unlocked. Is this a bug due to not starting the game fresh with the mod? Will the new skills show up on level up?

角色无需购买/制作/阅读技能书籍即可自动学习技能。

技能在技能手册选项卡下的GM模式中通常会达到的水平。可以在角色创建时选择的技能在2级时可用。

通过任务获得的技能不会被学习。

omg You just fixed the one thing I didn't like about this game.
MeToLee 27 Jul, 2021 @ 11:24pm
mod gives you the craftable skills like Raining Blood?

love it

Why do characters learn new skills at level 5 instead of 4?
Your Friendly Healer 29 Oct, 2020 @ 7:17am
is this mod safe to remove mid playthrough?
Reffy 10 Jul, 2020 @ 2:01am
Is there a way to change this mod so you get all the skills right away? Instead of at a certain level?
Micah 3 Jul, 2020 @ 11:56pm
I just disabled "Lady C - Level Up All Equipment - Including Uniques [Definitive Edition]" (for unrelated reasons) and loaded my save game and this mod appears to finally have kicked in. I don't know if it was the act of fiddling with my mods, or that mod was actually conflicting.

Interestingly, that mod isn't the one I mentioned below that adds a level up all items skill!

This mod doesn't appear to work for me, is there a trick to it? I have it installed and my characters are level 9, but they don't have all the skills in the game (only the ones I have learned manually as I leveled up).

I looked through my installed mods and I don't believe I have any that would conflict with this in any way, just mods that add vendors and cheat menu and such. There is one mod I have that adds a skill to the game (level up equipment), could that be causing this mod to not work?
Ashlei 16 May, 2020 @ 10:56am
Does this mod just add the skills at certain levels, regardless if you have the right skills for it?
For example, will I learn Whirlwind even if I only have Warfare 1?
Ninjafish 24 Feb, 2020 @ 8:00pm
quick question, does this work with modded skills?
Cthulhu Fever 13 Jan, 2020 @ 12:18am
Thanks for updating it:steamhappy:
Artur 10 Jan, 2020 @ 3:28pm
I stand corrected.
Thanks for taking the time to improve it.
e00E  [author] 10 Jan, 2020 @ 2:31pm
I have updated the mod with the suggestion from the comments that skills should be learned at the level they become available from merchants.
Artur 6 Jan, 2020 @ 4:25pm
Pretty much useless right now until it gets updated to a more appropriate structure.
Getting all skills starting with level 9 is just lazy.
Lizelle 5 Jul, 2019 @ 9:54am
It would be great if this could work with the Faster Casting Mages [DE] mod.
Cthulhu Fever 8 May, 2019 @ 8:35pm
Amazing mod:steamhappy:
can you update it?
I hope I can learn the right skills at the right level
Dirty_Harambe 6 Feb, 2019 @ 4:44pm
The level that is appropriate for each skill is listed in GM mode under the skillbooks tab, it says the level of the book, and that is the level it normally becomes available in story mode.

If you do not want to repeat Fort Joy I can recommend the "Joyless Beginnings - Skip Act 1" mod.

When I made the mod it was not clear to me at what point in the game different skills become buyable so I was conservative and selected level 9. If you have a list of which spells are available at what levels then I would like this mod to be updated accordingly but I might still not get around to actually doing it because I am not currently playing the game. I will probably do it the next time I want to play.

I like the idea of this mod! However, level 9 is way too late. Learning abilities is most annoying in the beginning of the game. It's not even hard because you can just steal the books but it becomes tedious after the 15th time through Fort Joy.

Any chance that you can make all characters learn the initial skills (those you can pick at character creation) at level 2 and all spells that become available at level 4 (like fireballa and whirlwind) at that level?
e00E  [author] 14 Jan, 2019 @ 9:26am
As I mentioned, the spells have to hard coded into this mod. To support other mods I would have to extract their spell names and add them here. Because I do not play with mods that add new spells this is too tedious for me (and I would have to decide which other mods to support).

If another modder wants to make a copy of this mod to add the spells themself then be my guest but I do not plan on doing it.

Maybe you can try another mod that makes it easier to learn spells like the one that adds a vendor with all spell books but I believe they also have to hardcode which books are available.

Following up on @Darkness' question, I tested this mod with Odinblade's Aerotheurge Class Overhaul and it looks like new skills added by the mod are not automatically learned. But existing skills, though modified, are still automatically learned.

Any chance this can be changed in the future?
e00E  [author] 4 Jan, 2019 @ 10:01am
Are you refering to the mod image? I definitely did extract it from the game files but I can't remember how I did it. Probably it was not too hard or I would remember the struggle. Try searching on the internet for how to do it.
e00E  [author] 10 Dec, 2018 @ 8:10am
I don't know. If you test it pleae write a comment with the results.

My guess is that because the mod uses a hard coded list of spells, if your modded classes create new spells then they will not be learned.
Darkness 9 Dec, 2018 @ 2:36pm
does it work with modded classes ?
e00E  [author] 6 Oct, 2018 @ 8:30am
Correct. You get most skills at level 9 but none earlier (see the description of the mod above).
Theuberwar 6 Oct, 2018 @ 8:11am
So you won't start learning skills for free until you reach level 9?
e00E  [author] 5 Oct, 2018 @ 11:35pm
You don't need to level up. If you are level 9 or higher you should get the spells when the game loads. However, I never tested multiplayer so maybe mods need to handle that in a special way? I am not sure.

The laughing leader suggestion could work. I specifically did not want to grant skill books because there already is a mod that adds a vendor which sells all skill books and I found having to click through all books on all four of my characters to be too much of a hassle.
Theuberwar 5 Oct, 2018 @ 8:47pm
So I see earlier someone asked if it worked with existing saves and its confirmed to, but my friends and I turned it on during our run and have not gained spells upon leveling up, it's one of perhaps 3 mods we have turned on
Jnco 3 Oct, 2018 @ 1:00pm
laughing leader mad a mod that allows you to configure mods in game that may help also i have an idea ( if its possible ) instead of learning the skill outright you could make it wher the mod give you the skill book instead ( of zero value ) that way you can choose to learn it ( probaby silly but worth a thought)
Lanius 1 Oct, 2018 @ 4:08pm
actually i dont mind having those skills. you dont have to change it if nobody else asked for it :)
Lanius 1 Oct, 2018 @ 2:05pm
@e00E thanks for the response, yes sir its caused by this mod. turning it off removed them. here are the skills on the incarnate http://prntscr.com/l10l9t
e00E  [author] 1 Oct, 2018 @ 11:37am
It is possible that this mod caused that. I will have to test it myself. You can try disabling the mod and resummoning the incarnate to see if the skills are gone.
Lanius 1 Oct, 2018 @ 11:02am
i think this mod made my incarnate has skills hes not supposed to (phoenix dive, mosquito swarm, etc) any solution?
Zoraste 1 Oct, 2018 @ 2:40am
Unfortunate.
e00E  [author] 28 Sep, 2018 @ 7:20am
There is no way to set it to learn skills at different levels. As far as I know, there is no trivial way to make a mod configurable in game so I had to pick fixed levels when making the mod. I chose level 9 because that is roughly when you leave Fort Joy at which point vendors start selling more spells.
Zoraste 27 Sep, 2018 @ 10:58pm
Is there a way to set it so all non-source skills are learned at level 1 or 2?
Noodle 26 Sep, 2018 @ 5:55am
Ah, didn't realize it granted them at level 9, was testing with new characters. Thanks!
Aerospace 25 Sep, 2018 @ 6:20pm
The mod works as expected for me. Great mod by the way e00E!
e00E  [author] 25 Sep, 2018 @ 11:18am
It should grant non source skills at level 9 and it works when I test it locally. It would be great if someone else could confirm whether the mod works.
Noodle 25 Sep, 2018 @ 11:00am
Doesn't appear that the mod is working for me. Does the mod grant only source skills and no others?
e00E  [author] 23 Sep, 2018 @ 7:52am
Yes, it works with existing saves.
Aerospace 23 Sep, 2018 @ 7:10am
Does this work with existing saves?
e00E  [author] 22 Sep, 2018 @ 10:47pm
If other mods create new skills then they will not be learned.
TheFoolishWitch 22 Sep, 2018 @ 7:26pm
i highly doubt it
Fenember 22 Sep, 2018 @ 3:17pm
