A short but certainly more convincing episode than the first one. Less corridor/maze running, more focus on actual scares and atmosphere buildup. Outside scenery looked nice in comparison with many others the author had made in the past. Time to see the finale!

I would say this is a step up from the last one, tho kinda short, This scared me MUCH more tho but that;s maybe that i am just a puss. One thing. I liked and also didn't like the fact that the "director" tells the audience at the end of each level what is up ahead, It takes a little bit of scares out since you know something is there

The level design is much better in this one compared to the first.
But, it was short and needs more spook.

Review:

Warning: This is not a personal attack on the author, this is merely a critique of his work.

Games - Episode 2 is a continuation from the first entry to the 'Games' series by Damned Husky,
author of Caught and The Search. His style of mod leans heavily on story and voice acting as well
as intricate and varied level design.

Pros:
- This was without a doubt one of the most terrifying experiences I've had in a SOMA mod so far, the tunnel section had so many great scares and sound design moments that when the enemy popped out I ran away screaming aloud, "F**k that noise!" If a mod can do that to me it's already in my good graces, stellar work on that section, more mods need to do that
- The levels themselves were detailed and had some pretty great lighting in some areas, I especially love the large lab room with the low glass ceiling, very creative work there
- You continue to show your amazing outdoor work, it certainly was beautiful to walk around and admire such a well made forested area
- The voice actor who portrayed the announcer clearly loved playing the role, he certainly was the best performance in the mod

Cons:
- The other VAs, especially the person portraying the characters through the recordings fell flat compared to the announcer, the player VA was ok but some of her lines were fairly hit or miss
- While the levels were detailed there wasent much to do in them except to walk/run from point A to B, no notes, writings or enviromental story telling were found except for the rather poor audio recordings
- The use of loud noises is fine but there was one section before the tunnel hole that had a loud distorted screaming noise that seemed to only be put there just for a cheap scare with no reason for such a sound to be made
- The sections with the monster while terryfying deflated after you used the default Flesher AI
(which is very easy to cheese) but this wont be a problem to less veterned players so this isnt a big deal
- The mod is very short but because of all the pros you have this is certainly not a big issue at all

Overall, one of the best mods currently available, a big step up from the first Games mod and I'll
certainly will be putting you on my radar with the same amount of attention and hype as creators such as Draugemalf. Small yet extremely enjoyable.

8/10

Ambience and flashlight event in the tunnels were gold. Amazing custom story!

tbh I think the format of this ep should have been ep1

Definitely an improvement over the first Games in terms of the level detail, lighting and design which was kept linear, but short and memorable per level. The scares and athmosphere were really good too (especially that one particular spook) and the game had a good way to remind me that I was in a game show.

My biggest criticisms however is how the custom story itself is actually much shorter than the previous episode and didn't lend itself to enough story, nothing new is learnt nor does the main character have some answers to what's going on despite how she acts confused as if she doesn't know she's part of a game show.

Overall, had good pacing by getting into the scary stuff quicker but as an episode it left me with not much to look foward to aside from just continuing through when Episode 3 comes out.

Final Verdict: 7/10
