Conflicts with GenMod, Living world...
InsertGenericName 18 May, 2024 @ 5:03pm
POSSIBLE BUG: When you give meat to starving bandits, meat is added to your inventory instead of taken. Unsure if it is from this mod but it is a likely culprit.

talk about bird brain lacking imagination

paying "taxes" , weather to empire or smaller band of bandits makes you appear more reliable and trustworthy, the more you do it. And after enough "taxes" they would want to ally with your profitable town in order to protect their income from destruction and others
MGJ Sakazaki 23 Jan, 2024 @ 11:38am
I just came to see this page again and I notice some infants. I'm talking to you, @DUCATISLO.
Exactly, @TheRandomFox.
No, I didn't mean that I don't like to be exploited, I said that the way it was done it was not well-made.
For example, your suggestion "+2 relations just for paying taxes like a normal law-abiding citizen seems excessive to me.", I agree to it 100%. It was exactly what I meant by "That doesn't make sense at all.", @TheRandomFox .
This feels like it was made to make life easier in Kenshi, some people will like it, but not me.
Great mod nonetheless.
TheRandomFox 28 Jul, 2023 @ 9:13am
Addition:
After poking around in the mod file in an attempt to modify the values myself, I found that this mod also adds events for bandits coming by to extort you for "protection money". This also adds positive relations with the bandits. Makes no sense to me, tbh.

The idea behind the mod is great, that I have no doubt, but the execution is... arguable.
TheRandomFox 28 Jul, 2023 @ 4:54am
@MGJ Sakazaki
> *Settles in another nation's land*
> *Is visited by a government official*
> *They say that as a resident of this nation, you are obligated to pay taxes to the government*
> You: "I'm being exploited."

Bruh.
TheRandomFox 28 Jul, 2023 @ 4:46am
+2 relations just for paying taxes like a normal law-abiding citizen seems excessive to me. I personally think +1 or +0.5 would be more appropriate. Same amount for HN prayer day. +5 relations just for attending a single day of church is absurd.

However in the case of Shek relations, a greater relations gain from accepting and defeating challengers would make more sense as the Shek value combat prowess and honour far more than any material asset.
Lord Hausgold 25 Jul, 2023 @ 7:52am
@Marido you can just attack them unprovoked and slap the prayer guy.
Marido 26 Apr, 2023 @ 8:51am
I forgot I had this installed, then while I was travelling around I noticed I became ALLIED to the Sheks, I was paying food tribute and became allies, this was a bummer... I should not have used this mod. Also, I was working to destroy the Holy Nation, but because prayer day I had high standings with them. The mod has no technical problems, but it completely broke the experience for me
Totanakur 8 Apr, 2023 @ 10:16pm
Any plans on updating so it doesn't stop events?
DUCATISLO 15 Dec, 2022 @ 5:34am
lmao stfu MGJ
MGJ Sakazaki 7 Aug, 2022 @ 11:15am
That doesn't make sense at all. If someone wants to exploit you, they will no matter what kind of relation you have with them. Besides, the more someone takes advantage of you, the more they tend to do it.
DraxTemSklounts 6 Mar, 2022 @ 8:00am
Is there a way for this to be extended to any demands raid? Specifically skeletons, its so hard to gain relations with them.
Vangoich 6 Mar, 2021 @ 4:17am
Unfortunately it seemed to stop all outpost events/visits, imported a few times to be sure
mamapower 29 Dec, 2020 @ 12:49am
I do not see this added to Genesis, so I guess I will just add it to my mod list :) Thanks
Atlas 27 Jun, 2020 @ 12:36am
Thanks howls <3 Much love my dude.
Howls@TheMoon  [author] 27 Jun, 2020 @ 12:36am
@Atlas , go ahead and use this if you like, with just a mention is fine too. Make any changes you like also as i see some have been requested. have fun~
Endgunner 26 Jun, 2020 @ 11:22pm
I think OP may have forgotten/left this mod, i would say you try to post to him directly about it.
Atlas 26 Jun, 2020 @ 8:10pm
Hey howls! I'm the community manager over at the genesis mod team. I wanted to know if it would be okay for me to include this in genesis. If you want to discuss further you can reply here, message me on steam or message me on discord @atlas#8060
If you do decide to let us use this mod would you want to be added as a contributor to the mod or simply given credit?
Endgunner 5 May, 2020 @ 2:54am
Not if you don`t want too...
s7yaaaay 4 May, 2020 @ 9:12pm
If not possible for a cap then you can just make a lower relationship gain version
Endgunner 23 Apr, 2020 @ 8:59am
Probably not considering how long its been since it was suggested.
burrex 23 Apr, 2020 @ 4:42am
Any plans on incorporating a cap on this? :)
doot doot 12 Feb, 2020 @ 9:31am
I agree. I'd like to use this mod but I think it would break the natural order of things if I were to focus too much time in my base. A cap(could be optional) would be highly appreciated.
Endgunner 6 Feb, 2020 @ 11:01pm
I agree with Effe.
Effe 16 Jan, 2020 @ 9:42am
An excellent mod that gives more meaning to diplomacy, but i think the relations bonus needs a cap. If your gameplay style is about slowly and carefully planning things, it could become too easy to befriend such factions. I gave the Shek Kingdom nothing but a couple of Dust Bandits with a bounty on them, and always paid my tribute in food, and i'm already at 20+ relations. This way i could ally with them far before giving them the Bugmaster or some Okranite leader. Suggestion? Put a cap on such relations, say +20 and no more, the rest is up to you.
Bedelguese 10 Jan, 2020 @ 4:37pm
Could you add a +2 or so to when you pay your gang dues to the Hounds in the Swamp. Always bothered me that you were put only at +50 relations with them.
Slothcat 10 Jan, 2020 @ 5:57am
Because if those gluttons are going to devour my entire stock like they do they should at least like me more...
Boursk 19 Jul, 2019 @ 7:34pm
Import needed?

thank you
Timesplitter 8 May, 2019 @ 12:04am
Thank you for this amazing mod that I have included in "Kenshi: The World Divided". This Mod Collection has been fully tested and works perfectly. Thank you again for the great mod to add to this collection. :steamhappy: Timesplitter.
GurthBrooks 4 May, 2019 @ 5:00pm
The gate/wall mapping issue has nothing to do with this mod. I'm about to install now and have come across that problem in vanilla
Howls@TheMoon  [author] 12 Apr, 2019 @ 2:25pm
Prayerday was lowered to 3 in October, can be seen in change notes.
WALKING XENO HOLOCAUST 12 Apr, 2019 @ 1:09pm
Whoah whoah whoah, 5 for prayer day is waaaaaaaaaaaayyy too much, especially when u dont actually give them anything. Imo it should be 1, maybe 2. Anything more feels like cheating. Good mod besides that.
Raistlindantilus 18 Feb, 2019 @ 2:38pm
yeah archers are being killed but the gates never get stormed and no faction hit, very weird
Howls@TheMoon  [author] 18 Feb, 2019 @ 1:10pm
That's a new one :(
I would guess it has something to do with the pathing issue that many people have with Gates and walls. Are the archers being killed by turrets? Perhaps in some way that doesn't register to your faction. Idk :(
Raistlindantilus 18 Feb, 2019 @ 12:42pm
Yeah I'm having a problem with that I can't identify. They just stand outside my town, only the archers attack, they never rush the gate. I kill the archers and don't lose any relation :-/ err....lol
Howls@TheMoon  [author] 18 Feb, 2019 @ 12:26pm
It's pretty easy to lose relations in the game .
And the vanilla game does indeed work like you stated :)
if you do not pay your taxes they will return with an attack and you will lose relations a lot. LOL
Raistlindantilus 18 Feb, 2019 @ 11:51am
What if you had a - relation in the same way? Sorry I really have no idea what I'm talking about, just spitballing.
Howls@TheMoon  [author] 18 Feb, 2019 @ 9:45am
That had never occurred to me, I think it kinda makes sense that you would loose relation for not paying.
When making this I don't remember specifically seeing something in the dialogue that would reduce the relation. All I've done here is ad a + relation on the end line for the certain dialogues.
I didn't remove anything to do that so it might be somewhere else that controls that relation decrease.
Raistlindantilus 18 Feb, 2019 @ 9:33am
United Cities, for reference on my last post
Raistlindantilus 18 Feb, 2019 @ 9:32am
Wondering why the opposite doesn't work. I refuse to pay taxes and I do not lose relations with the faction in question. Any willingness to add that feature here?
Mr. Rice_00 13 Feb, 2019 @ 12:38pm
Okran´s fist is about to be no more hehehe
Howls@TheMoon  [author] 13 Feb, 2019 @ 12:24pm
Well if no one was at your base then they shouldn't show up to demands worship. If you recruited any skeletons or shek, or sent a woman to speak with them instead of a man, or didn't have any men in your group when they spotted you. Those are reasons I've found they will attack or chase with demands that might lead to them hating you.
I will say it has nothing to do with this mod though as I just added a +relation bonus on an existing dialog, nothing was changed otherwise.
Good luck friend~
Mr. Rice_00 13 Feb, 2019 @ 5:57am
I had a paradise till a travel it had to be made. After I came back, the holy nation hated me and my base was at the center of the hurricane haha.. was it because, i wonder, that I traveled for more than a week and that made it impossible ot pray with the holy nation person.. he got pissed and now I´m at war with them. Almost took their general. Almost.
Bedelguese 25 Jan, 2019 @ 10:23pm
I have added this mod to my collection "Komrad's Kenshi Kollection" for the great addition to gameplay it provides, thank you to your contribution to this community and for keeping this great game fresh and interesting.
Jaromir 25 Jan, 2019 @ 4:33am
Great mod, thanks.

I offer this as a bit of info for anyone worrying about your food stocks being taken for tribute. I am not sure if this is a bug with the game, but just before a tribute demand, I move all of the food from my food barrel to the backpack of a garru, set the garru to sneak and move him to the rear of my base... and I stop my cook from making any more food. Then I tell the tribute demanders that they can have all the food they want. They run around my base for a bit and finally run away. Then, I transfer the food from my garru pack back into my food container and tell my cook to return to work. This worked before and after this mod. The difference is that now I get +2 relations for the inconvenience of letting them run around my base for a bit.
