i always WANTED asimilar mod but with cultures, wouldnt it make more sense if there was a cultural defensive pact? like if vikings invaded england and anglo saxons could team up together?

@jlrde & @obama slurrping on perc 30: I just tested it myself and it works perfectly fine for new games AND ongoing savegames.

@jlrde
Does it work with new saves at least?

Just tried it with my ongoing save. It didn't work. Could be with the new update only tho

What? Do you mean that the Pope ganking up on me with the Caliph is ahistorical?!

This mod is great, thank you Dratoran!

Lord_Daemonar 25 Aug, 2019 @ 4:20pm
Do I need to start a new game for this mod? Or can I continue my current game?
Dratoran  [author] 15 Aug, 2019 @ 10:08am
Yes, you're right.

Thank you, Dratoran! Very cool.
Dratoran  [author] 6 Dec, 2018 @ 5:47pm
No, it doesn't.
Constantin 6 Dec, 2018 @ 5:24pm
is this mod also working on ironman savegames?

They other Pagans do unite in a Defensive Pact, which makes for some damned strange bedfellows. That should have not just a prestige but piety hit to them as they are asking for help from non-believers: your own gods can no longer protect you against this outside threat, and that must be a humiliating thing to admit.
Dratoran  [author] 20 Nov, 2018 @ 6:52am
Thats a good question. From the ingame description it sound like they would, but I didn't test in a manner detailed enough to know this since I usually play Ironman without mods and without defensive pacts.

The mod doesn't change the mechanics of the game. It simply raises the criteria for the last three stages to a point that isn't reachable. The first stage shoud work like it does in the normal game. So if in a unmodded game all pagan unite on the first stage, they would do it with this mod enabled too

Under this mod, do all pagans unite under the same pact? Tengri, Suomens, Norse, Romuva and Slavics?

I thought it was strange that Catholic, Islam, pagan and remote India would unite, but it would be nice to be bound by religion. Thank you for making it.
Dratoran  [author] 18 Nov, 2018 @ 1:53pm
It should be, yes.
LiptonDI 18 Nov, 2018 @ 7:51am
compatible with Holy furry ?

This is a good implementation of the defensive pact concept, my thanks! A problem of defensive pacts is that it should have a prestige cost to join and a monthly prestige hit to maintain: it is a statement of weakness on the part of the ruler admitting that they can't defend themselves against this exterior threat. Thus if you were more than a sea zone away, then that should be a distant threat, ditto that for three counties distant, or a combination of a county and a sea zone would be a decent implementation along with the prestige hit to the cowardly. Plus the game doesn't do a good job with some local varieties of religion: the Irish Catholic tends to have different concerns and views on what to do than the Pope does. Later Polish Catholics also had differences and would act locally or to threats that they thought the Pope couldn't or wouldn't address. Getting these varieties of Catholic to actually sign up to helping other Catholics was problematical, at best.

Thanks! I like the fact that people of the same religion sometimes help each other, but the entire world banding together against someone else is so ahistorical.
