I haven't really decided yet, but probably not since there really isn't any animations fitted for a .22 rifle like you mentioned.

Yeah it's kinda troubling when it comes to sounds and that I didn't say it more specific earlier lmao, but at least you have tried :p
Oh and if it can make you less guilty for removing the reload sounds, try put some from Alex's FN FAL sounds mod, they work fine
Anyways thanks for reporting the bug.
Maybe try to edit one of the sounds (because I'm not sure which sound causes it) by making it longer, you know, just to fill the gap to match the default length or something
Strange, because when I tested the FAL, I didn't hear any screeching sounds during reloads.
I'll wait and see if other people are also experiencing the same issue. I may have to remove the custom weapon handling sounds if that's the case.
