I kep trying to attach segments together to create ships at the docking ports in the build menu but it doesn't let me due to blocks intersecting.

its kinda old tho, all theses designs were done in pre 1.0 so expect lots of missing blocks , but feel free to swap blocks and or add some for your own use

Absolutely beautiful. I love modular pieces, and these have that Haloesque grungy "human spacefaring nation" hard sci-fi feel to them. Military in purpose, even. Thanks! I'm gonna make some dope designs with these babies!

The part I mentioned is the Wing Auxiliary. I found it in with the all your shared files. Its just not listed in the Constellation Aeronautics Collection.

So I just wanted to point out that you are missing a modular piece that you used in the CA Frigate Cyclops. It is the part that connects the body of the ship to the L connector and the engines to the body. I tried to make a copy of it myself but it keeps wanting to delete that part.

in other words whenever you copy paste something, there is probably a few recursive functions running on the structureof the ship or part you are about to paste and it traverse the entire structure every time, this cause a sudden spike in cpu usage and cause theses massive lag spikes. i think in the future the developper of this game might find a way to circumvent this , by precalculating the boundaries of any said templates in advance or other clever tricks

yeah i forgot to mention that,and i think i know why it happen , being a programmer myself, i have a pretty good guess why it happens, my guess is, the game dosent use an actual grid system when it comes to save the position of all blocks of a ship or ship template, i think it use a tree-like structure, the advantage of this is you dont need to save empty blocks, and their orientation and scale can then become independant of their cartesian position in the game. however thees structures are dependant on their root block and to traverse the entire structure you need to use recursion, which is fine on a small scale but can become very cpu consuming when the data become too large

It is not about constant lag. My computer can handle 100k blocks or more in normal play just fine. I found the game block outliner thingy makes the lag. Maybe disabling hud prior to placement after rotating and resizing would remove the outliners, thus the lag/freeze?

i have this too, in fact any large amount of blocks temporarily cause this, this is an issue with the game itself, even before i made this collection i had the same issues when using my own templates, anything with more than 10 000 blocks become hard to handle . i would recommend you test how many templates parts you can use before it start lagging and build around that limitation. Another thing is you can remove the crew models i placed in certain parts , they are purely decorative and removing them can reduce the block count a lot. they are mostly located in the bridges and the crew modules

G'Day, When using the modular parts, I experience FPS drop when they become clear to place (aka not red) and I get freezes at that phase even. I have a strong PC and game normally runs at 180-200 fps easily.

'm just looking for something to bring the number to reasonable single decimal places, I admit, I too like the slow heavy feel of them, I think I eventually got it to sit around 0.17 on pitch and yaw and 0.25 roll, still feels like a brick underwater, but at least this brick can turn now.

With regards to the ship building, theres just pumping ships out, and theres building specific vessels for specific roles and such, say if you were to turn around and say "I need a battlecruiser, 6 slots, capable of broadsiding enemies", I could do exactly that.
Or if there was a new module that would change how you build the ship and you need examples of how that affects thing.

I just like having a goal in sight, and with these sets at the moment I could spend days making anything and everything, but I don't get the same satisfaction if theres not somethiong to aim for. (and I'm terrible at setting my own goals, the one I made already was supposed to be 6 slots, that didnt happen)

There is a few, but i make my ships behave realistically so no YPR-4/4/4 stats, my ships are made to feel heavy and metal , like my favourite music . as for the Y split module, im working on a fews , also no one prevent you from pumping out ships, by the way i did specify you have full permission to upload your own as long as you credit and link this collection in the description :3

Further to this, if you happen to want some examples of different vessels thrown together using the pack (Although I do use TESLA'S turrets (except your missile launcher)) then I am more than happy to spend hours and hours just pumping out ships, this offer can also be extended to other module builders, after I spend a bit of time getting used to the parts and their connections.

Please tell me you have some form of gyro or thruster module, I must have spent hours and hours today in creative just building something from this collection for me to load up once we get that far in survival, I found that the pitch, yaw, and roll were in the yellow, I ended up converting a torpedo module into a gyro array and a pair of the "wings" just to get it into white (roll was not so bad, quickly fixed with a few replaced hull parts on the inner sections, pitch and yaw took a while to fix).

Could just be that I missed something important, but I hate that I have some parts that look out of place and hoped you could provide a module to solve this.

Amazing work, cant wait to see more parts added.

(Oh and a 1->2 vertical split with sloped armour to make a smooth transition between modules would be awesome, I just stuck one of the stabilizing fin's on there to make it look more... intentional XD )

I've been messing with these sections a fair bit recently. I might have to upload a couple ships after I'm done with them so you can put them in this collection as well.
Are more sections in the works? I quite like the aesthetic CoAe has and I'd love to see more. I'm trying to design my own ships and have been drawing some inspiration from what I've been able to make with yours.

humans also can have an edge in certain things, ad if they wear a power armor, they can match any sapioid in combat :3

actually , sapioids can be originally humans wo became cyborgs and over time became completely cybernetic after all their organs failed, sapioids in general dont see humans as inferiors and usually try to integrate in human society as much as they can . Lonestar do employ both human and sapioid personel .

To be fair, for roleplaying purposes, I would probably have my ship as 'anti sapioid' rebels who are trying to compete for the future of the human race against vastly superior Sapioid forces.
Or I might just MAKE a few fighters.

sapioids ships also serve as data centers and transmitters to their network , allowing them to reupload in a spare body in case of physical destruction , or alternatively, take over their own ship AI and become the ship it self , gaining an edge in reaction . however the ship effectively become their new body and damaging the ship can cause the same pain as if their original body was damaged , which can be a traumatizing experience .

this combinaison of agility and extremely small signature combined with that data network at their disposal allow them to dominate any battlefield and engage targets 10 times their size , or if their number is sufficent, cut open a breach in an enemy ship and take over the crew and capture them.

take note, as sapioids are technically intelligent machines, they dont actually need fighter aircrafts since they can survive in outerspace ( no need to breathe, high resistance to background radiations, have rockets engines in their feets and backpacks ) so they tend to act as mobile infantry, with personal shield boosters , extra fuel tanks for their portable hermes boots , and carry handheld weapons, while comparativelly the size of a human, their cybernetic nature make them extremely resistant and can fight as effectively as a typical fighter craft , they also tend to fight in squadrons and support each others using their subspace communication networks and can share data with their own ship.

hehe, the sapoids have already been published before ( see my old collection ) , though for this set i might do new ones, with different armaments and configuration, im currently drafting a few right now, though this may take a while. in case you keep this color scheme, you can use the cygny mobile infantry , but they are police themed and use two handguns, for this i might use the military version that is slightly more armored and use rifles and rocket pods
