I forgot to mention it here but the mod has been fixed for a while now.
JustShawn 10 Jun, 2021 @ 4:23pm
yay no more cringing
Shadevar 6 Sep, 2020 @ 8:42pm
There's no rush; I think i found a different version that doesn't have the same problem, so i've been running with that. Thanks for your modly contributions
Lawh  [author] 5 Sep, 2020 @ 5:51pm
Yeah I noticed that when I was playing as well at some point, but never got around to fixing it. I'll try and get some time to work on these mods again, but it might take a while. If however you are know exactly what is wrong, I can make the change pretty quick if you let me know what to change, but no pressure though.
Shadevar 5 Sep, 2020 @ 4:03pm
Specifically, it happens when you are stealthed with your weapon out (ie. are still stealthed but have been commanded to attack)
Shadevar 5 Sep, 2020 @ 4:02pm
Not sure if you are still watching this, but you mentioned to say something if we see the upper body not moving; so, I am seeing this right now; i believe its conflicting with more combat stances, found here

there i sno way that "ninja" running improves speed. that's absolutely absurd and not the point of ninjutsu.

actual ninjutsu focuses vastly on balance, noise free movement and the art of effective killing. I'ts the sole purpose of this art. So if this would achieve anything it is better balance(which is still questionable) and less blunt force to the ground (also remains to be proven). however ducked running definitely increases your chances to not be hit by an arrow and my give you the edge crossing rough terrain.

aight cool
Lawh  [author] 23 Mar, 2019 @ 10:32am
Ah, its possible yeah, I ll try and look into it
CodyProductions 23 Mar, 2019 @ 7:51am
like the complete opposite of this mod
CodyProductions 23 Mar, 2019 @ 7:48am
no i meant as in whenever they're in stealth they perform the stealth run animation in instead of the crouchwalk
Lawh  [author] 22 Mar, 2019 @ 9:50pm
You mean that they never do even the crouched walk when their stealth is not good enough? I could make one, but I think this is the most that I wanted out of t his mod. Tomorrow I could try to make another version of this to suit your needs though
CodyProductions 22 Mar, 2019 @ 5:39pm
is there a version i can get where they run all the time?
Lawh  [author] 12 Mar, 2019 @ 8:52am
Thanks for understanding :) We all have our personal preferences
Drovopil 6 Feb, 2019 @ 2:56am
That's funny. You've made me feel better. Really I like this anime style, but you have pleased me. I don't expect I'll take advantage of this, but I wish you good luck and give a good assessment. Sorry for my English :)
Lawh  [author] 15 Jan, 2019 @ 4:04pm
Actually, I think I might :D

Enjoy :) I've had a rare issue with top body animations when running and bodyguarding someone in stealth. I might have fixed it since I haven't seen it in ages, but if it pops up let me know and I'll try something else.
bavieca 15 Jan, 2019 @ 3:11pm
thanks, you have no idea how much this was bothering me.

A study doesn't a scientific consensus make, if you know nothing about the scientific process I can see you claiming that the 'ninja run' or whatever is superior based on one purported study, but that has to compete against the immense body of evidence leading to the opposite, especially considering that literally every single sprinter on the planet AND the natural human instinct is to swing our arms while sprinting.
Lawh  [author] 16 Oct, 2018 @ 7:29pm
If observed from the side, arms move clockwise or the opposite, I'd imagine that's what he meant, and not some type of jazz hands :D
Ionico 16 Oct, 2018 @ 7:17pm
Did you just say ANTI-clockwise?! (O.o)
Mr.Taco 13 Oct, 2018 @ 8:35pm
free hug huh. Guess you can read your thumbnail as my answer to that XD
Lawh  [author] 13 Oct, 2018 @ 10:42am
Yeah it should work on all braches :)
deathmaster snikch 12 Oct, 2018 @ 2:15pm
Hello does this work on Experimental 99
Eidric 8 Oct, 2018 @ 1:48pm
I saw a lot of people referencing a studies from cambride or michigan with similar clains, yet i have failed to find the studies themselves.

We use arms to counterbalance our legs since when you are running legs not only propel you forward but a bit clockwise/anticlockwise with each step.
Erei 7 Oct, 2018 @ 3:44pm
30% faster on average. Yeah sure, running like Naruto might enable me to go for world championship, who would have thought ? Someone call Usain Bolt, he can run even faster !

Anyway, thanks for the mod, my people will stop looking like idiots :)
Wraith 6 Oct, 2018 @ 5:39pm
they prob don't run like that because it would tired the arm but I can see people trying to do that for some sprint of speed lol
Lawh  [author] 4 Oct, 2018 @ 8:17pm
Can't and couldnt' find the study, and one study is not enough, and, like said, I hope they bring it to the olympics next time, since if it is so, it will surely be adopted to the running sports.
Moth Gaming 4 Oct, 2018 @ 6:31pm
on april 10 2016 the study was done and it is actually slightly faster than normal running but you can believe whatever you choose to believe
Lawh  [author] 4 Oct, 2018 @ 9:34am
I'm pretty sure you must be joking :D Still, the reason I don't believe it straight off the bat, is because if it actually were faster, people in the olympics would run like that, instead of running naturally. The last seconds of a match they do actually run a little like that, but that's only because they measure the winner from whose chest reaches over the goal line first. If it were faster, runners would run like that through the whole race I'd imagine.
Moth Gaming 3 Oct, 2018 @ 10:49pm
a study was done in cambridge where they had people run normally and run like the naruto run and the naruto run makes you go 30% faster on average
Mr.Taco 3 Oct, 2018 @ 4:06pm
thus why its entertaining :))
Lawh  [author] 3 Oct, 2018 @ 3:23pm
Boobs
Mr.Taco 3 Oct, 2018 @ 2:59pm
or maybe your ninja way sucks! you need to believe bro! actually there is a very entertaining video on it ill paste the video here

Lawh  [author] 2 Oct, 2018 @ 5:42pm
True :F Though this still works the same way, only with running, so when you see a person run, you know they're relatively fast. Otherwise the guy sneaks like they normally do.
Sir Robert 2 Oct, 2018 @ 5:15pm
I just use the stupid running as a good indicator that his skill is good enough to probably get himself out of slavery lol. Plus its Kenshi, it doesn't take it self completely seriously.
Lawh  [author] 2 Oct, 2018 @ 3:28pm
I swear to you, this mod has been blessed by Okran himself...!
Sir Robert 2 Oct, 2018 @ 3:26pm
I find this mod to be a sin. Why can't my parapalegic theif with exchangable legs run like hes touched in the head?
Lawh  [author] 2 Oct, 2018 @ 3:16pm
Btw, I noted one instance which I couldn't replicate, where the upper body would not go to running stance in stealth for a few meters, if anyone notices that please let me know and I'll get on it.
Lawh  [author] 2 Oct, 2018 @ 3:15pm
Is it? :) I mean, when I've run crouched out in the wilderness, my hands are always in front of my body, as if holding a gun, pretty stationary, or at most on my sides. But holding your arms up like that is difficult, since you have to exert yourself to hold them up like that. You'd have to run pretty fast for the air resistance to lift your arms, and be in a state of constant acceleration.

I looked like a dumbass running around my house just now, but I encourage you to try it out to see for yourself. And, if you like the running style of kenshi, I'm not against that either, it's personal preference, but for me it has always been a bit odd, ever since I first played this game 4 years ago. Now I finally fixed it to my liking. I'm sure there are a few others like me.
Xero 2 Oct, 2018 @ 2:19pm
I mean... The reason they let their arms go behind them is because that's more natural when you try to run while crouched.
