I haven't had to update this mod since 2021. its stable.
try looking for one that makes more drastic changes or disable distant town generation.
sicne most people just wear clothing.
in this harsh environment, clothes would have evolved to do more then just keep one from being nakied, but to protect themselves in the wastelands of Kenshi
One awkward side effect is that it makes clothing objectively and MASSIVELY better than light or medium armor up to and including even standard grade. Standard drifters pants have nothing on monk/ninja/gi pants. A standard, or perhaps even high quality leather tank top gives a small armor bonus...or I could have huge stat bonuses from a prototype cloth shirt...Even merc leather armor pales in comparison to some of the bonuses on items like the gi armor.
So basically, this mod encourages an absolute all or nothing gear style....you either go the best, heaviest armor, or you go with clothing, because the lesser protections offered by lighter armors just don't stack up to the gear stat bonuses.
Changed many clothes to have better protection against the elements.
As Kenshi is more desert, most clothes now have dust storm protection to some degree.
And assassin's rag barely give you any defense too.
Anyway, it's your vision, and i really glad that you made this, thank you!
I have a small doubt though - Gi set gives you 68% (!!!!) increase in Dexterity. Isn't it a bit to much? Especially considering nerf of assassin's rag from 1.3 to 1.2 dex. What do you think?
this was all done so that people who dont want to wear cumbersome Armour, have a secondary choice. Armour is not the only thing you can wear now that will protect you.
Thx
some are made to pump your MA skills. others give resistances to weather.
in mine they are white.
unfortunately the game doesnt have icons in the FCS when im editing and there is a few items where im not sure how they look.
the update will be out soon.
- Monk Pants Right Leg coverage is set to 10 but Left Leg is set to 100
- Spiked Helmet has 0.3 weather protection, but no weather set
the decimal point is in the wrong spot
ill get that update out today. already fixed it but im in another game atm.
modding is pretty simple.
then you could make them to your vision of how you see they should be.
most everything is self explanatory in the FCS.
it only gets complicated when you add new Meshes/models
and armours, you only need to edit stats 0-1 section in items, Armour subsections.
which is why i did not change them in this mod, ( except adding more resistances to them ) i know many people wouldn't agree with my idea of how they should be.
it was made to give clothing a use. actually it was originally meant to only give the Gi Set a use, but i thought, what the heck, rest should have a use too.
and to also give everything resistances.
those penalties are vanilla settings for heavy Armour.
I also should have a update coming out soon, just been busy irl.
there is no option to add resistances to any backpacks.
most of this is to give these items a use in game. which the Dev forgot to do.
The heavy amours get all the glory. now too shall cloth, though you cant really take a hit while wearing them, you are more nimble and deadly wearing next to nothing.
like slave rags, they make you more nimble and quick but sap your combat due to their normal use of the enslaved. which is how i plan to edit all gear worn by slaves.
