Just assassinated some settlers wandering around UC territory and while looting them realized they had a meitou weapon on them. I'm keeping it, but I question the balance of having them be able to have mkIII weapons with a %chance to be 1 tier higher <3

I think they are a faction like that yeah, where it doesn't matter how much you attack them, the others won't mind, but I'd have to check.

what i mean is if they are their own faction and set as not real in faction option example liek the drifters and vagrants if you attack them it wont aggro town guards that are near as they are considered as independant hobos same ilk as animals thus can be raided without repercussions if their set as a real faction they'll appear in the factions list and after awhile they will attack you sight due to the drop in realtions becomeing enermies

it be best if settlers was their own minor or non faction imo but im biased and after traverling loot lol they could represent the everyman that setting out on their own each squad inderpendant more like name of a state of people rarther than an actual faction if that makes sence sort of like how the player is in the world

If I remember correct, I at least planned to make them their own faction. If they're not, then they are a part of a roaming faction. So if you are at was with some factions, these dudes should remain neutral. They also won't attack at sight, they will go their way unless you attack. The only problem I've seen, is that the pack animal just runs around wild and rarely is around it's squad. I tried fixing it by giving it more athletics skill and strength, so it wouldn't be over encumbered, and that seemed to help a little.

I originally thought I'd make every faction have their own settlers, but realized after a while of hiatus, that someone had made a caravan mod, and that was a bit too similar to mine. Not sure who started their mod first, but this was mainly for the start, rather than the addition of settlers wandering the world. I might make them into separate factions though at some point, but we'll see. I am currently working on something else.

so have you set the settlers faction to not a real faction option im intrested in this mod purely for the banditry aspect and it be gud to not have them auto agro due to poor faction relations and also the police/guard attack trouble makers a.i if your close to a neutrak vanilla town could be a problem

Let me know if you need more supplies, money, or skills. I packed the bull with basic building mats, and the relatively low money is still to give the start a fairly interesting challenge, so it's not as much a cheat mod than it is just a new starting type.

The skill levels of the starting crew are also relatively low, but it should be managable to defend against basic enemies.
