The last trick was really creative! Thumbs up!

Not a fan of room 1 but this is a really cool map overall.

Faved! Earlier in a livestream today you said that these could've been done better, but quite honestly I think these hold up pretty well. Room 3 is my favorite, It's a move i've known about, was really happy when I figured out it was actually used here! Room 2 is also quite soild! The was insane, its something I may want to do something with myself! Great work!
JiggleYourJerkyMrTurkey 24 May, 2023 @ 8:14pm
Great puzzle! The 2nd and 3rd room had especially creative solutions.

@zeo1337 Sorry for the late response! I'm very happy to hear that you enjoyed this old map haha, it's a bit rusty but it contains some fun ideas indeed :cozycrashfish:
zeo1337 25 Jan, 2023 @ 10:27am
For the final chamber, I just had to think backwards and realize it was logically impossible. That gave me the answer. I knew the pit upstairs was to respawn a cube, but it wasn't very clear why until I understood the ending.
zeo1337 25 Jan, 2023 @ 9:27am
Oh my goodness that last move in that room was awesome
zeo1337 25 Jan, 2023 @ 9:01am
I feel like the second room requires a null portal to get to the gel dropper, but I can't find anyway to get one there without already dropping gel....
Mikeastro  [author] 26 Apr, 2022 @ 3:13pm
@Mr Fab Thanks for playing and for the video! I really enjoyed watching it. You solved the first room intended. I laughed when you said at 7:56 that I would probably be disappointed in you for solving it that way, because the only person I am disappointed in is myself, for actually making that the intended solution...
Anyway, glad you liked it! Nice work cheesing the third room. Gel tests are usually easier to exploit haha, but I was happy to see that you figured out the intended way shortly after anyway :D

These moves are great ! I haven't used these to beat a puzzle before, my favorite is in room 2  Favorited !

@bullfrog Thanks a lot once again :D

Well, I've played many, many more maps since I first played this on two years ago and I have still not come across another map that incorporates the 'trick' in your third room! OK, there are better maps out there but, for the creativity of all 3 maps, this is definitely firmly fixed in my list of favourites.
Mikeastro  [author] 7 Apr, 2020 @ 8:21am
@Teo The idea was indeed to try some new things :p Glad you liked it
Teo 7 Apr, 2020 @ 8:10am
huh, haven't seen that before. Fun maps. thanks for creating :)
Mikeastro  [author] 13 Oct, 2019 @ 2:26pm
@Mere To Society Once more, thanks for playing! I agree that the last room is the most complex after you've figured out the trick. I don't know whether or not there are already portal magnets on those surfaces you mentioned - sometimes they just work very poorly, but I agree that it would be useful to have them there
Vapid Clay 13 Oct, 2019 @ 1:34pm
Good map all-around. Third room was my favorite, not only because of the trick but because I had to think for a bit about positioning the cubes and portals. With the other two, once I figured out the one trick everything else fell in place more or less instantly. I did really like using the funnel to give me time to get on the other side of the fizzler, more so than room two's trick with the grating.

Second chamber could probably use portal magnets for the laser and receiver; I had to redo that part a few times. Or maybe it's just my lack of coordination.
Mikeastro  [author] 12 Oct, 2019 @ 1:23pm
@Spider_Dawg Naw don't sell yourself short! Really well done solving all of them - these kinds of creative tests can be quite tough. I'm glad that you enjoyed all of these. Thanks for playing :D
Spider_Dawg 12 Oct, 2019 @ 1:07pm
At the end of the third period, the final score is @Mikeastro 300 @Spider_Dawg 3 (I get one point per room for solving, you get (at least) 100 per for creating). All 3 of my points were unassisted!!! I feel good about that. Like @bullfrog, I misplaced the cube first time trying "the trick", in my case thinking it would only block a little of the gel and blocking closer to the portal surface would leave enough orange . All 3 of these took much thought, but were logical enough to solve eventually. Thumbs up for sure.
Mikeastro  [author] 12 Oct, 2019 @ 12:39pm
@Spider_Dawg Excellent! That is indeed the big trick :]
Spider_Dawg 12 Oct, 2019 @ 10:04am
End of round 2. Clever! Unusual to see a grating used to an advantage ! Most of the rest of the room was almost obvious, but that one bit held me up for a while until getting that cool aha! moment.
Mikeastro  [author] 10 Oct, 2019 @ 11:49pm
@Spider_Dawg Haha very well done! I agree that the first room is a little too execution based for my tastes - the other rooms are purely logical in nature
Spider_Dawg 10 Oct, 2019 @ 6:19pm
Have only gotten through the first part so far, so commenting now in case I never finish. Very nice as always! Was stumped for a bit, I saw early on what turned out to be the solution, but couldn't pull it off the first several attempts and spent a lot of time trying other things before deciding to go back and try again. Now it seems easy, so it's just my lack of skills. And this keyboard. That's it, it's the keyboard's fault. Will comment again if/when I get through part 2.

@stormsend Thank you very much for the high praise o_O I'm really glad that you enjoyed each of the puzzles in this map. They are indeed not easy and require some creative thinking to figure out :]
stormsend 6 Sep, 2019 @ 8:40pm
My hat's off to you Mikeastro. I was stumped on each each puzzle. To my credit i could figure out what I needed to do just not how to do it. I spent over a week a little each day and eventually peeked at the video for that one chamber. I still had trouble but managed to move on. Repeat for each puzzle. I can do it now if you give me lots of time and elbow room. Great work. Some of the best I've seen. Thank you for all the effort you put in. Favorite.

@SevenSilhouette Excellent work getting through the whole thing! I'm really glad you enjoyed these little ideas :]

Favorited.

@kimist108 I'm really glad to hear you liked this one. Presenting the player with some new experiences was indeed the intent of this map :)

Excellent collection of challenging maps. Slowly, but surely, the first page will be reached. For me, the placement of the cube in the second part was a new experience.
