boehm  [author] 17 Oct, 2019 @ 4:44am
Im back into EU4 and working on a"big" new mod - updating and incorporating this mod.
boehm  [author] 4 Jan, 2019 @ 11:32am
@MyNameIsTyrone - it utalizes mechanics which are locked behind the DLC as far as I know
Shrek 15 Dec, 2018 @ 5:24pm

Just I hope the system that army can get drill point when they fight by system modify. I know it's hard.
boehm  [author] 10 Dec, 2018 @ 3:38am
@sym2026, Drill is basically a time & money sink to reward not constantly fighting. Constant fighting already grants some of the type of bonuses you are asking via the Land Tradition -mechanic.
원주딸배거지박종우 7 Dec, 2018 @ 7:55pm
(I can't english well sorry ) I think army could get experience when fight each other, and The fighting is bigger, army can get more experience. but If army are killed, they lose experience. So, Only Artillery could get experience more easier than other army when they fight. I want a mod like that. Can you make it? plz....
Orc 9 Nov, 2018 @ 12:39am
Yea
Now it works with all the other mods that I have
And the bonuses are really good
Makes it worth the time to drill your troops , before it didn't make such a huge difference
And it should be a huge difference because nations trained their troops and untrained troops means a higher defeat percentage
boehm  [author] 8 Nov, 2018 @ 1:21pm
@NPC thank you for letting me know - and once again Im sorry ... same happened to my game :(
boehm  [author] 8 Nov, 2018 @ 1:18pm
@NPC - I observed the same error and tracked it down to be the part with the modified advisors, Im not sure why it happens, but I have taken that part of the mod down couple days ago for this reason. I guess you were playing with the version from before this time? I have just confirmed it works now for me and have reuploaded it. I apologize for any inconvenience sorry it sucks to loose a game. If you dont mind would you try to test with the new version ?
Orc 8 Nov, 2018 @ 4:40am

I don't know what the issue is , maybe some mods are conflicting with yours
Because after i save the game and load again , the countires won't exist anymore
boehm  [author] 5 Nov, 2018 @ 2:20pm
Update - I have had to take the custom advisor out as it turns out it corrupted some saves. Im not sure why, but will try to look into why.
boehm  [author] 1 Nov, 2018 @ 3:39pm
Would anyone be interested in me incorporating THIS https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1552071668 into this mod?
boehm  [author] 1 Nov, 2018 @ 3:27pm
Added a screenshot of the "new" advisor (see change notes)
boehm  [author] 1 Nov, 2018 @ 3:24pm
UPDATE - see Change Notes and let me know what you think?
boehm  [author] 31 Oct, 2018 @ 4:13am
@ Hetman - or put in another way ... its an optional money sink ... where you can spend excess money to get a better army ;)
boehm  [author] 31 Oct, 2018 @ 4:12am
@ Hetman - Its supposed to be a tradeoff, 100% professionalism is not intended for everyone but just an option for the late game / high income relative to army size countries. What year are you in?
KillMonga 31 Oct, 2018 @ 3:51am
nice mod but the maintenance of army is too high when u have 100 % army proffesionalism
KillMonga 31 Oct, 2018 @ 3:49am
these bonuses arent worth the price
DerRitter 29 Oct, 2018 @ 4:00pm
I think the Drill efficiency is a good idea.
Platonov 29 Oct, 2018 @ 10:48am
Mil advisor then you should edit the reinforcement bonus speed one with that drill due to else he is quite useless.
boehm  [author] 29 Oct, 2018 @ 2:25am
Thought 3 of the day - how about adding a MIL advisor granting a 20% drill bonus?
boehm  [author] 29 Oct, 2018 @ 2:16am
Thought 2 of the day - how you would feel about replacing the "100% professionalism"-bonus of +1 Siege with +5% Discipline? (it would also help open up the Age of Revolutions objective of 125% Discipline more)
boehm  [author] 29 Oct, 2018 @ 1:13am
@ DerRitter - I guess we just have to see drill as unit cohesion, that is lost after a hard fight. Solution is to gradually increase Drill Efficiency (tied to institutions, with a total of +40% at Enlightenment) so units can drill up faster and compensate this with a slightly higher professionalism decay. Additionally, Im thinking of doing a Quality Idea-mod incorporating a Drill bonus. - The alternative ofcause is to go back to Drill just giving damage reduction, but this means that its mostly useless to drill cavalry and artillery. Whats your thoughts?
DerRitter 28 Oct, 2018 @ 10:28am
If battle casualty drill loss cannot be properly reduced, then I suppose drill lost outside of combat would suffice. It is a bummer though, as I don't think that so much of the accululated drill should be lost due to casualties.
boehm  [author] 28 Oct, 2018 @ 4:10am
@DerRitter - Do you mean Drill decay outside of battle or how fast drill is lost due to casualties? If it is the latter the only way to reduce the loss is to reduce the casualties, but this means there is very little reason to drill Cav or Art as most casualties are only taken by the Inf.
Platonov 27 Oct, 2018 @ 11:03pm
well i already have done myself for my own use a thing like this but for meiou and taxes i increased the skill for general too to 100% a year and reduced the decay too it's quite good the decay happen more with casualties in battle.
DerRitter 27 Oct, 2018 @ 7:11pm
Could you make it so that drill is not lost so quickly?
DerRitter 27 Oct, 2018 @ 7:08pm
FINALLY, I was looking for a mod like this
boehm  [author] 27 Oct, 2018 @ 3:51pm
I have incorporated both this and my BUILDINGS REDONE in a bigger mod I call HARDER SNOWBALLING. I will keep updating this as a standalone.
boehm  [author] 26 Oct, 2018 @ 3:57pm
@Marinho - ah sorry that was actually just a leftover from a test ... I didnt even realize I left it in. Its a +25% bonus to drill once Enlightenment has been embraced. I try to mark all my changes with #New and writing what it was changed from.
Marinho 26 Oct, 2018 @ 11:13am
Could you enlighten me on what you did change in the 00_Core.txt file?
Because I also use another mod which modified that file.
Anonymous Awesomeness 25 Oct, 2018 @ 4:33pm
That actually sounds like a great idea. I still may not have the DLC, but I have always been annoyed that very little can be done to reduce army tradition decay.
boehm  [author] 24 Oct, 2018 @ 1:18pm
Let me float an idea here - Im thinking of adding to the mod so that Drilling 100% of your army will reduce Army Tradition decay by -1% / scaling with %. To offset this a bit for the early game Im thinking of increasing the Professionalism decay from -0.33% (at 100% Professionalism) with a bump up to -0.5% but then add in a 25% Drill bonus to each of the Institutions ´Manufactories´ and "The Enlightenment" - thoughts??
boehm  [author] 21 Oct, 2018 @ 1:40pm
@Anonymous Awesomeness - I have no idea how to do that ...but ofcause if its just the bonuses they could be done via decisions and policies I guess, Im looking at doing rebalance of vanilla-ideas, but more as a complement to this, not instead of.
Anonymous Awesomeness 21 Oct, 2018 @ 1:06pm
I meant like a mod that is meant to have the same effects on gameplay but without using the cradle of civilization mechanics
boehm  [author] 21 Oct, 2018 @ 3:10am
@WhatsAGamer - I completely agree, I just chose to give the cavalry bonuses at low professionalism in order to further reflect that the shift to professional (modern) armies, with higher proportion of inf and art should be more important as time goes by ...
boehm  [author] 21 Oct, 2018 @ 3:04am
@Anonymous Awesomeness - unless Im mistaken, the vanilla code for Drilling and Professionalism is only available if you have Cradle of Civilization Im afraid.
Anonymous Awesomeness 20 Oct, 2018 @ 11:15pm
Would you possibly be interested in making a mod with the same general ideas and goals in mind without making it require cradle of civilization?
WhatsAGamer 19 Oct, 2018 @ 4:09pm
Horses are better in a formation btw, because of the fact that the horses will move in a group rather than on their own. This builds momentum. If you look in china there are alot of tactics using this idea. Im not very knowledgable on the subject, but I believe professionalism would have the opposite effect. Don't take my message to heart lol, because im an ass and I may well be wrong; havent really looked into it myself...
Look into my eyes 19 Oct, 2018 @ 2:23pm
I have no idea, but this mod is an awesome idea ^_^
boehm  [author] 19 Oct, 2018 @ 2:05pm
