I really appreciate the terrain—it's one of the best I've seen. However, I have some concerns about the roads and train tracks:

-Train tracks typically have smooth curves and are designed for flat terrain. The current tracks look more like mountain roads, which is unusual.
-The road intersections, as seen in CSLMapView, seem chaotic. They resemble two tangled spaghetti noodles, and the train intersection is confusing.
-There's only one main road running through the map with an awkward hairpin turn. While I understand it's to connect to the starting point, adding another road might have made it look more natural.
-Boat paths are overused. They aren't necessary everywhere.

I’m a sucker for realism, but I believe there's room for improvement in these areas.

I'm with Mike here. Beautiful landscape (which many other maps don't lack of) and a believeable, sparse road infrastructure (whoch most other maps most definitely lack of!). Why build stunning landscapes when you're going to deface it with huge interchanges and highways that cut right through the heart of the "natural" city centre.

This map lends itself perfectly to my more 'regional' style with smaller towns, villages (that have a purpose, e.g. a resource nearby or a junction/ancient ford) and one central mid-sized city.

Both thumbs up!

Because of the tunnel network alongside the edge of the map you shouldn't see any traffic going along the national road until you begin building a city. If you've tried building a city and still aren't seeing any traffic flow then I'm not sure what the problem could be.

If you want a larger build area then I'd recommend using Bloody Penguin's 81 tiles mod.

Nice Map, it would take the building area a little bigger ++

This map looks quite nice, judging by the screenshots. Not enough people use the Generic Tree pack and national roads in their maps, either. Thanks for keeping the asset count low and lending the map design to a genuine rural feel, I was getting real tired of the usual three-lane highways.
