There should be a huge downside to her reign, to make her more acurate and challenging to play. Something with loyalty or rebellion like "deficit/famine causes disloyalty in cities or rebels to spawn"

You know what we want: Her hair must be made into a boat. (Note: she did do this)

can you make a mod that replaces France's colors with the ones seen in the picture

C'mon you gotta include a 'let them eat cake' bonus even if it's a total myth. Loving watching you grown more comfortable with the modding software Gedemo! Keep up the good work.

I said she is "almost" the last queen. for sure she is the last before the revolution. In deed none remember the following queen: Marie-Amélie de Bourbon-Siciles

@Gedemo Just about your last sentence, nobody can say she's the last queen of France as there were other queens after the First Empire. I don't remember if Louis XVIII's and Charles X's wives were alive while they were old rulers, but am pretty sure Louis-Philippe's was.
Now modders have no standards to keep to in their creations of alternatives leaders, I wouldn't have chosen Maire-Antoinette if I were to mod another queen for France, but your work your choice ! The model is pretty cool, did you "draw" Marie-Antoinette by yourself ?

I´ve been waiting for this leader for years. Your work is special and I think that female leaders are more interesting. Awesome!!!!

@Digihuman I understand that mods are held to a different standard but the question is why? other than production values differences there is no functional difference between a vanilla civ leader and a modded one. In the end the leader and the gameplay elements they bring are what matter, not whether that leader was particularly effective in real history.

Civ and its devs shouldn't be held back by the narrative(s) of history, where women were almost always seen as weak or ineffective and had few opportunities unlike Victoria/Elizabeth.

The problem is IMHO one of perspective. Civ gamers need to stop treating Civ like a "Hall of Fame" of all the best or top historical leaders; if that were the case every new entry in the Civ franchise would have the exact same people. History isn't a high score table nor should the game be either, otherwise you're just perpetuating (and even condoning) the prejudices of the past.

I am agree with you too. Good design and artwork. Thanks you. :)

I agree with Gedemo. personally, I believe the difference is that mods are held to a different standard, because they are fan-made and modded (and there's no limite to the amount of modded leaders you can have). By comparison, the "main" leaders officially have higher expectations - people typically want famous leaders and important rulers, rather than someone who either wasn't that big of a deal or didn't actually hold the position (and, you typically only get one leader per civ, two if you're lucky)..

Take Victoria and Elizabeth for instance. Nobody complains about then leading England (well, not for being women - for Victoria there is the valid complaint that she was a queen of the UK and not England). Seondeok on the other hand was a controversial choice because there was a more obvious, more famous and more liked option available.

my experience is that my modded female leaders are always more successful than males (except the most famous ones like Napoleon or Bismarck). Nearly naked female leaders like Cunha Moacara of Marajoara reached a significant number of subscribers in a few days, where more traditional leaders took weeks. I'm already waiting for comments from the lesson givers who will come and write that Marie-Antoinette is a bad choice. For me, it is a very famous historical figure, one can almost say that she was the last queen of France. A bit like Cleopatra.

It's interesting to me how modders haven't shied away from making female leaders, you hear so much controversy when the game is in development, but nobody says anything about mods. I get that they're 'optional' but so are the leaders you don't like.

Good on you Gedemo for doing something different :steamhappy:
