Big big big whoa big big!
@mentallentil
Hope the slipperiness didn't make you fall in the goo though :P thanks for playing!

@SpielSatzFail
Well that's quite impressive of you to have sailed through this one! Maybe you were in a good day! You say you didn't slip a single time, but I do hope you did *slide* more than in a single time :P
In my opinion 5/10 would be a bit too little, but I reduced the difficulty to 6 instead of 6.5. Happy to hear you found the key move satisfying!
SpielSatzFail 4 Sep, 2023 @ 6:21pm
I don't know why but this was plain sailing for me from beginning to end :steamhappy: I didn't slip a single time but slided straight into the correct solution (and through the exit :-). Imo it's time for a difficulty update and I plead for nothing more than a 5/10. Unless I was lucky or really clever (that's not how I see myself ^^). All I can say is that everything was clear to me pretty much anytime.
Though I'm nowhere near Nobody No-One's league, I also experienced the same thing he did. And it might be for the same reason, I'm rather "gifted" with gel puzzles (unlike laser and/or fizzler puzzles).
Anyway, the key move is so...graceful! Btw I also see no need for a tutorial room.
Thumbs up for this very decent map! :steamthumbsup:

@ali alturahi.
Great work to you as well for solving it! This one is far from easy indeed.
ali alturahi. 16 Jul, 2023 @ 5:29am
wow that was one of the hardest community levels that i`ve ever played, anyways, great work on that one!
Leo  [author] 13 Jun, 2023 @ 7:29am
@cnh2r
This one is definitely on the harder side of the spectrum, you have some impressive dedication!
cnh2r 18 Dec, 2022 @ 11:46am
Excellent, thank you for creating! Very challenging. Took me several weeks to figure out

@Clever_Playz3207
Thanks a lot for your interest! If you're really new to the workshop, I wouldn't advise trying this map, as it's pretty difficult. Instead, you could consider checking the following collection: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=470046703
If you do want to play some of my puzzles, I suggest you check the estimated difficulty mentioned in the description. A 4/10 rating can already prove quite tricky if you're new, anything beyond that isn't very beginner-friendly unfortunately. Still, thanks for stopping by :D
Clever_Playz3207 2 Apr, 2022 @ 4:04pm
i heard this is a good map so im gonna try it welp here goes my first map
Leo  [author] 12 Jan, 2022 @ 1:52pm
@Aneonen
Yep, this one was definitely built around that key move. Still it's not easy to be able to think backwards from it and make it work, well done!
Aneonen 30 Dec, 2021 @ 10:44pm
Nice puzzle! I was intimidated at first but I found that by thinking about that key move of getting one cube to the exit I was able to work backwards 'smoothly'; very fitting for a propulsion gel chamber.

@mit3368 @DarkRozen
Thank you both for playing, sorry for answering late haha
Dark Rozen 1 Nov, 2019 @ 10:59am
Pretty tough map, I managed to work out about 1/2 of it, but I then backtracked and got stuck for a while. I took a hint and noticed I had the wrong cube setup.
mit3368 12 Oct, 2019 @ 7:40am
Great map. Excellent work):portal:
joe98 11 Jun, 2019 @ 8:53pm
Thank you, now trying to solve it!
Leo  [author] 11 Jun, 2019 @ 10:24am
@joe98
I really don't understand how that's happening, for me the surfaces accept portals every time. But if you're experiencing this issue it probably means others will too. So I changed it back to normal portal surfaces. Thanks for the feedback, and sorry for the inconvenience.
joe98 8 Jun, 2019 @ 4:37pm
Still cannot place a portal beneath the cube. I fired 20 times. There is another portable surface beneath the orange gel dropper. To portal that requires only 5 shots. Thanks anyway.
Leo  [author] 8 Jun, 2019 @ 12:26pm
@joe98
Sorry but I don't know what you mean. I did change the floor surfaces to make them 1/2 panels and virtually eliminate any exploit, but it's still possible to place portals beneath both cubes. I just updated again adding portal magnets to make it even easier. Anyway, thanks for passing by.
joe98 8 Jun, 2019 @ 12:05am
There are 2 solutions given in videos in this thread together with the intended solution by the author. In every case it is possible to place a portal beneath the cube. The author changed the floor and removed this ability. It means I cannot obtain the cube.

@Teo
Well done! This is indeed a quite tricky map. I'm glad you enjoyed it, and as always thanks for playing!
Teo 30 May, 2019 @ 5:20pm
Yessss! I finally beat this map; amazing work. The cube management near the end was the hardest part for me (especially with the new update preventing juggling), but after getting one cube to the exit it was smooth sailing...or sliding in this case
Leo  [author] 3 May, 2019 @ 2:06pm
@kwinten
Oui c'est vrai qu'il y a quelques champs de lasers haha. Je suis content que tu aies apprécié le "main move" quand même ! Merci !
kwinten 3 May, 2019 @ 1:48pm
bonne idée! le design est assez déconcertant à première vue (beaucoup de lasers mortels partout), mais le mécanisme du cube glissant est peu utilisé, main en l'air!
Narkodes 15 Apr, 2019 @ 7:39am
Yep. I utilized orange painted cubes in two maps, but for completely different reasons.: In one map the key move did not work very well when the cube isn't painted (it was a reflector cube and its front side has a different form, which can make some things even worse). And in Paradigma 7 it was a good way to prevent an unintended solution: A reflector cube which stands on a regular floor button can generate weird laser angles. By painting it orange this isn't possible anymore 'cause the cube is too slippery then -> it will slide onto the button smoothly -> only a straight beam direction is possible. Apart from that I didn't use it. And yes, as real puzzle element there aren't many (good) maps out there. It was refreshing to see the great usage here.
Leo  [author] 15 Apr, 2019 @ 6:23am
@Narkodes
Thanks! I haven't seen many maps utilizing orange painted cubes so wanted to make it myself. I'm glad it turned out to be a good puzzle!
Narkodes 14 Apr, 2019 @ 3:59pm
Great map! I like the way you have to use the gel, in most orange gel maps that item has a boring usage. Here I got some aha moments, very satisfying.
Leo  [author] 21 Mar, 2019 @ 4:20am
@Expat
This is definitely one of my hardest maps, so again there's no shame in resorting to the solution video. Although, not playing Portal for a while probably didn't help either, it's true! As always, thanks for playing :)
Expat 21 Mar, 2019 @ 3:38am
Man, I've lost brain cells while not playing. Couldn't work this one out at all. Great looking and clever, even if my feeble mind couldn't do it and had to watch the vid.
Leo  [author] 15 Jan, 2019 @ 5:27am
@Nock
Yep, good job! Thanks a lot for the video.
nock 15 Jan, 2019 @ 1:42am
Other than the messing around at the start of the map, I'd say this went pretty well. Great work :)

Thanks a lot for the nice comment! I'm glad you enjoyed it. And thank you for following too.

Very good tricky puzzle! It took me a while to figure out the right sequence of steps. Enjoyed it thoroughly, thanks. I´ll follow and check out your others too.

@Nobody No-One
I agree, BEN 77 and Demon make very good gel maps, and also very good maps in general.
@asears16
Thanks, you'll be happy to know you solved it as intended ;) and yeah that's what I think too, so I'll probably leave it as is.
@Steve3Dx
Congrats! Thank you for playing.
Steve3Dx 13 Nov, 2018 @ 11:19am
got lucky, no hints, good one.
asears16 12 Nov, 2018 @ 9:13pm
Loved this map, Leomievs! I'm always drawn to gel puzzles, and this one was really clever and fun to solve. Personally I don't think a tutorial room is necessary...it might make the main puzzle a bit "too" easy.

My blind run: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WfRpM7masY8
Nobody No-One 31 Oct, 2018 @ 3:34pm
Yeah, that's always the tough call when it comes to tutorial rooms. I think it could work either way here. Personally, I lean very slightly towards no tutorial room, but I do see what Libbybapa means about it being difficult to tell whether a certain move would work.
Viper's definitely a fun orange gel map. I really like a lot of BEN 77's and Demon Arisen's gel maps.
Leo  [author] 31 Oct, 2018 @ 2:51pm
Thanks a lot for the compliments, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I actually considered adding an introductory room but didn't want to spoil the solution and felt it would be more satisfying for the player to figure it out while solving the main puzzle. But I'll reconsider it, thanks for the suggestion. Also, I haven't played Viper but you made me curious so I subscribed and will try it out soon!
Libbybapa 31 Oct, 2018 @ 9:38am
I would also mention that I am generally not a fan of gel maps unless they are made very well like this one. Another favorite propulsion gel map is Viper by HankyMueller. If you haven't played that one, then you definitely should. They are similar in some ways.
Libbybapa 31 Oct, 2018 @ 9:35am
Very nice map with good logic, excellent reuses, clean layout, clear minimal connections, a creative solution, and easily executed moves. That fires on all cylinders and I'll mark that as a favorite. My only real gripe is that I was not sure whether or not the solution move would work and it requires all the thinking/logic of the map (or no-clipping) just to test it. You might consider a tutorial room to demonstrate it in a simpler setting.
Leo  [author] 31 Oct, 2018 @ 7:12am
@bullfrog
You did make an unneeded move (see my comment on your video) but apart from that it's all intended. It's true that before the update it wasn't possible to speed jump to the entrance area so you had to use the lightbridge but ultimately it doesn't bypass anything so it's fine. I guess it only makes the lightbridge less useful xD
@Nobody No-One
Your set up isn't the solution I had in mind, but it takes as many steps. I don't mind if there are alternate ways to achieve the same goal, as long as the move I wanted to implement remains - that's to say, coating the cube with gel as it oscillates. :)
Nobody No-One 31 Oct, 2018 @ 5:36am
@Leomievs so is juggling the propulsion gel like that not intended? If so, maybe you could fix it for sure with a well-placed paint fizzler item below the CC dropper . Anyway, I'll replay it and see if I can find the intended method.
bullfrog 31 Oct, 2018 @ 4:28am
...once you’ve gelled up, is this the completely intended solution ? I think I probably made a few unneeded moves and I’m also not sure if you are meant to be able to speed jump across to the entrance area – perhaps I’m meant to use the light bridge in that direction?
Leo  [author] 31 Oct, 2018 @ 3:12am
@jandlml
Glad you enjoyed! Thanks for playing :)
@bullfrog
Thanks a lot for the nice comments! Yes, your way to get the CC in the 1st place and then to get it to the exit area is precisely what I had in mind. I actually couldn't achieve Nobody's way because when I try to juggle the gel it flies into the CC dropper and disappears. Maybe Nobody placed their portals in a particular way that makes it possible, I don't really know, but I don't see how the update would have anything to do with it. Anyway thanks for playing!
