There is a problem to make gunpowder, "Jar of gunpowder" to be precise. I had the 3 main ingredients (Charcoal, saltpeter and sulphur powder) and even mortars or pan i did had any option to make "jar of gunpowder". Worse, the mod not recognize the vanilla gunpowder. Someone with the same issue?

update please we need

is it still working for update 41 ?
NortheastBlackwood 31 Aug, 2020 @ 9:40am
I love this, and will continue to... BUT there is this one issue that really gets in the way: The part names. The game is so deliciously detailed, and it would be so easy to have the pieces of ammunition named correctly (Though I don't have any idea where to start so I'm starting here:)...

The lead chunk that gets thrown out the barrel is the Bullet.
The brass part is the Case/Casing.
The whole, ready-to-fire unit with bullet, powder, and primer is a Cartridge ("Round").

I reload my own ammo, and LOVE that I can save my casings, pull bullets, save powder from ammo I won't use in PZ... But I cringe at every mention of bullet tips, and I'm wondering if this is something anyone with the appropriate skills (which I Do Not have) is willing to do this, or has already?

Is this working with the latest Hydrocraft?
Hayden 3 Jul, 2020 @ 2:09pm
This mod is updated?
lang 28 Jun, 2019 @ 5:00am
Is it possible to use it or do you have another mod that allows ORGM bullet crafting without Hydrocraft?

hahah yup

Urine can in fact be used in the manufacture of gunpowder, and it has historically been a very important source of one of the crucial ingredients in gunpowder — saltpeter, also known as niter. This nitrate compound is what allows gunpowder to rapidly oxidize and catch fire, generating an explosion that can be used to fire munitions. In the modern era, there are less smelly ways to get saltpeter, typically through an industrial process that uses ammonia as a base.

whoa
Vlask 21 Nov, 2018 @ 2:15am
@nilserich you would be surpised than how easy it is to make your own bullets to :steamhappy:
Nilserrich 20 Nov, 2018 @ 9:54pm
@Weaponstrooper I didn't even know it was easy to make gunpowder.......:cta_emo3:
Vlask 20 Nov, 2018 @ 9:22pm
making gunpowder is not very hard in real life... if you find that surprising I can send you a recipe for a type of gunpowder you can make with your own piss, black powder is 3 parts 75% potassuim...... nevermind i dont want to tell the whole world how to make gun powder... but stil you can make it at home by yourself right now.. gunpowder or black powder its easy.
Pure Fox  [author] 20 Nov, 2018 @ 3:00pm
I was thinking about something like 3-5 ingot per casing, but yeah that's the idea
JREALMZ 20 Nov, 2018 @ 2:48pm
i have an idea, why dont you reduce all the brass requirements for bullets by directly making it 1 ingot 1 box of casings? and also pumping the vanilla case fabrication by 1 ingot to 10 cases
Pure Fox  [author] 20 Nov, 2018 @ 2:30pm
Nah, the bottleneck is currently Brass. It's still 10 brass for one box of casings, as shown in the screenshots.
Nilserrich 20 Nov, 2018 @ 10:09am
What JREALMZ says is true. I'm not yet so into the functions of the mod inside.

But there should be a bottleneck in the production of ammunition. According to my own understanding that would be mainly my own abilities. Maybe also the gunpowder? Maybe you can make 300 cases out of one bar, but they have to be perfectly made and you have to know how much gunpowder you have to put in and so on.

Maybe that's a very good point to begin with.
JREALMZ 19 Nov, 2018 @ 5:47pm
well, with 5 pounds of brass you can make like 300 casings irl hehe
Pure Fox  [author] 19 Nov, 2018 @ 5:11pm
Damn, I still don't like how 10 bronze ingot weighing 5 unit can be turned into 0.2 unit weight of casing and vice versa. Should that number be changed?
Pure Fox  [author] 19 Nov, 2018 @ 4:49pm
Fixed Lua as well as the casing recycle. Let me know if there is anything wrong!
JREALMZ 11 Nov, 2018 @ 1:56pm
also i think there are only hunting recipes for vanilla converted ammo, like 308 and 223, but not with other rifle calibers like .30-06 springfield and 22LR for minor hunting
Pure Fox  [author] 11 Nov, 2018 @ 12:44pm
Yeah, but a box of .308 bullets is like 40 bullets in base game, but usually 20-25 in ORGM. I might double the gunpowder cost for some of the rifle rounds, but right now it feels approximately the same I think
JREALMZ 11 Nov, 2018 @ 9:39am
Now what about pumping the gunpowder requirements for the high calibers? in the hydro mod making a .380 bullet box costs about 20 units of gunpowder
Pure Fox  [author] 10 Nov, 2018 @ 4:40pm
I'd think so...? think I added that two updates ago or something
JREALMZ 10 Nov, 2018 @ 4:30pm
copper tips? did you add that?
Pure Fox  [author] 10 Nov, 2018 @ 4:28pm
Hi denizaksoy! This is how Hydrocraft originally handles ammo crafting - You might want to try the fire suit just so that you don't burn yaself! You can also get at most 6 bullet tips from not needed ammo. There is also copper/gold bullet tip recipes as well.
denizaksoy 10 Nov, 2018 @ 3:43pm
Very good mode! One thing though: One lead=one bullet tip does not seem balanced. You burn yourself to death and mine to full exhaution just for 10 tips. The recipe should yield at least 10 tips per ingot imo.
JREALMZ 10 Nov, 2018 @ 11:02am
so you can make mags?? hmm that should take work and good metalworking skills
Pure Fox  [author] 10 Nov, 2018 @ 10:39am
Added crafting recipes to all ORGM magazine/speedloader/stripper clips. Let me know if anything is missing!
Pure Fox  [author] 6 Nov, 2018 @ 1:11am
Done, got that feature added. Sorry about the not-1-1 resource ratio, feels like it would throw off the little balance we have. More bullet tips materials are added though! Comments and suggestions are really appreciated!
Pure Fox  [author] 5 Nov, 2018 @ 6:07pm
I think that would require some more level of LUA fuckery, but I'll think about that when I have the time.
JREALMZ 5 Nov, 2018 @ 6:01pm
I think that you should get that 1-1 resource ratio when you are lvl 10 in metalworking, but im not sure how it would be even possible, maybe making new recipes that require that level of skill
Pure Fox  [author] 4 Nov, 2018 @ 10:26pm
Tbh, none of the features are there originally, and I just wanted that to be a last ditch effort of getting some different ammo. I guess that's a terrible way to balance this, but I don't see a better way really. I personally dislike the idea of getting bullet tips back, as different ammo have bullets tips of different caliber. Do you have suggestion on how to balance that? Considering Hydrocraft gives out loads of lead/gunpowder from low level mining and all you need to do is recycle casing.
crimson.carp748 4 Nov, 2018 @ 9:21pm
Like, If I want to craft a 20 round box of winchester bullets for example, literally the only way to get the 10 bullet tips I need would be to dismantle other boxes of bullets which produce like 3 tips per box. So if I have lets say four fifty-round boxes of handgun ammo and I dismantle it I would only get like 12 tips which in turn would only produce a single 20 round box of winchester bullets which is EXTREMELY impractical and ineffecient. I would reccomend being able to craft bullet tips out of lead.
crimson.carp748 4 Nov, 2018 @ 9:13pm
I would very much appreciate it if you made the bullet tip recovery rate a 1-1 ratio with the amount of rounds you were dismantling and made it so we can forge bullet tips
crimson.carp748 4 Nov, 2018 @ 9:09pm
the mod is rather impractical if we cant craft bullet tips, need like 10 tips to craft one box of ammo, and only get like 3 tips from dismantling a 50 round box of bullets
crimson.carp748 4 Nov, 2018 @ 9:08pm
I would reccomend being able to craft bullet tips with lead and when dismantling boxes of ammo make it return however many bullet tips as there are bullets in the box..... in addition make it so we can dismantle individual rounds rather than them needing to be in a box
Pure Fox  [author] 3 Nov, 2018 @ 1:18pm
Hi Vivikus, I think that recipe already returns 1-4 bullet tips. I'm still thinking about balancing the recipe, but how many generic 'bullet tips' should the recipe return?
Vivikus 3 Nov, 2018 @ 11:50am
As a person who has taken apart rounds, the bullet tip is easily recovered. There's no reason when breaking down ammunition that the tip should be lost IMO.
EindBaaz 3 Nov, 2018 @ 4:32am
nice mod but orgm isnt updated yet ? atleast i dont see any weapons anymore with the latest release :(
Pure Fox  [author] 1 Nov, 2018 @ 9:00pm
Yep! I'm thinking about returning part of the lead bullet tips as well. You know what? I'll just add that as well
Zed 1 Nov, 2018 @ 7:13pm
- New! Dismantle live ammunitions for Gunpowder and their Casings.

Is gunpowder recycled?:steammocking:

JREALMZ 1 Nov, 2018 @ 11:24am
Now thats actually cool, but i think that you should get a little bit of bullet tips when recycling, like 2 or 3 per box
Pure Fox  [author] 31 Oct, 2018 @ 11:17pm
New update: Now you can recycle bullet casings as well as live ammunition. Feedbacks would be great!
Pure Fox  [author] 31 Oct, 2018 @ 6:40pm
Bullet casing uses brass not bronze, silly me
Pure Fox  [author] 31 Oct, 2018 @ 6:36pm
For starters, I've yet to see a mod that does exactly this. They are always missing something that I needed or felt unbalanced to me. For what's on workshop at least I think.
Frankly speaking, I'm not sure what to do with the Brass situation. Maybe I'll add some Brass recycling once Hydrocraft is fixed, that sounds like a neat idea. I'm sure bullet casing actually use Bronze though, so I would really like to keep it that way. Maybe recycle doorknobs for bronze? :steammocking:
denizaksoy 31 Oct, 2018 @ 4:28pm
Ok, a couple of things:
1- What is new in this? I've been able to make these exact recipes for months? Is there a change here that I'm not seeing?
2- Brass=Copper+Zinc. Zinc can only be recycled from coins or mined from a Dark Mine (You mine for 500 hours to get a single one). This means in order to make one box of bullets, you have to collect all the coins in the game or mine for months (in real time).
IMO This needs a balance. There should be a way to use the spend casings (or at least recycle them for zinc or brass)
Pure Fox  [author] 31 Oct, 2018 @ 2:19pm
Hmm, maybe I can add a new recipe that gather gunpowder from box of base game ammo instead of individual bullet. Guess I'll figure something out
JREALMZ 31 Oct, 2018 @ 11:30am
it actually is, besides the crafting recipe with dusts, it only spawns on gunstorages which there isnt that many on the game
Pure Fox  [author] 30 Oct, 2018 @ 8:23pm
Hmmm, besides gather gunpowder, Isn't gunpowder kinda hard to get?
