This race really needs nightvision. The constant particles are killing FPS any time you get anywhere near a torch. The fact that this race which lives in total darkness almost all the time and has zero nightvision is odd to me. Normally I wouldnt complain because I could just use Star Extensions and enable the command /Nightvision 70 for a realistic approach, but the keybinds conflict with RPG growth techs (like 90% of them!) and I am not getting rid of RPG tech, so I went ahead and uninstalled Star Extensions and now im back to having no night vision.... arrrrghh!!!!

Emerald this mod has not seen a sred of code added to it in nearly 3 years, I doubt I'll have the time between two jobs to make anything for this mod for a very long time.

does this add any materials with the ID 5001?
i don't have shadow expansion, but since this is also a shadow mod that seems to have some history with it, and shadow expansion has materials 5000-5025 claimed, and i'm having a conflict involving material ID 5001... i'm going out on a limb to see if this mod might be one of the ones conflicting.

No, there is no way to disable it, I suggest another mod that adds the shadow race. The point of my mod was to change the meta and how you played starbound.

As far as I know he intends to come back when he learns to write code and makes his own base from scratch so you would need to either talk to him and get his additions directly or wait till he learns to make his own.

I've tried merging with him multiple times with no luck, he intends to write his own story and is so locked into the idea of writing his own story he won't even try to hear out the literal two requested changes to the story to make a merger possible. My suggestion it to either make it vocal to him for a merge or learn to code for him because he doesn't have internet at home and likely wont be able to learn coding anytime soon.

thats really unfortunate buddy... really liked that mod added a lot to the shadow race to play around with, i never had a crashing issue though? Anyways... Would you say that it's a lost cause to hope for it back or is there a chance we'll see it be brought back to life?

No @doomslayer, it can't be done.

@Tsunderated The mod was removed because it wasn't an expansion, it conflicted and caused crashing if you used both mods because it used the stolen code from this mod. I talked with the dev and did the best I could to help him make a compatible version but a difference in opinion resulted in it being removed for DMCA. :steamsad: Really wish we could have worked something out.

This is exactly what I've been looking for, this is the perfect miner race! It would be cool if they didn't need to eat, but instead recharged hunger in the dark and lost it in the light.

@Ansixilus or give them the ability to see the dark, I mean they are a "shadow" race. They should beable to move with ease rather then just HP Regen

The dark light is a light source, not an anti light source. In other words, the light would just make him smoke like normal.

Thanks, love the ideas and just so you know, you can use things like flairs to light your way, they do not count as light. As for the candle, I am working on a lure and race build out that includes weapons and themes that are unique to the race, as of right now I am too busy to follow through with any of it.

Would you be amenable to making an EPP module that emits darklight? Scuttling about caves in utter blackness is lore-friendly, but not easy to play as. Asuming that that it's possible, anyway. Also, a darklight modeled after a candle, rather than a ship light, would be cool, but now I'm being pushy.
Annnyway, love the mod, migrated right over with the update.
