Sadly my son Alex TD @uuugggg died June 2025. Can anyone tell me if I could/should report this to someone? And I know he made a lot of mods that people used and seemed to depend on. Any chance you can add the same system to the "Food Rules" ?
So I can stop my pawns to consume veggie meals while meat-meals are available, so my vegetarian pawn has veggie food left?

I keep getting a "no storage space" alert.

I have every think set where all the "rank 2" filters allows all items.

do I need to adjust the priority in any way?

I've noticed some odd behavior: if every Rank 1 storage is full (or there just aren't any) it starts acting like there are no lower-rank storages available, at least for that tier. The result is pawns pulling out all the steel from Important Rank 2 storage and dropping it in a Low storage that's Rank 1 (for general overflow).

Correct. Vanilla, unmodded Rimworld added a feature that allows shelves and other storage buildings to be linked, which allows them to share storage settings. It's a great quality of life feature.

I'm experiencing the same issue as World's Greatest Dad: I have two shelves that are linked, with two filters. The first allows some textiles but not cloth. The second adds cloth. When there's space in the shelf, it doesn't get filled with cloth.

How about to add compatibility with "Stockpile Stack Limit" mod? It adds the limiter and would be great if we'd have the ability to rank these option too. Example: You have a storage for prisoners food, but kibble is way less nutritious than meals so you'll need to place bigger amount of those

Sort of like how I have a small stockpile at the front of the freezer that is the same but higher priority than the entire freezer. Hm.

I always end up with way more crops than meat, so I divide my freezer into two: one side prefers meat and the other crops. That way every square gets used, but there is always going to be both types of food available if possible. The rest goes into backup freezer. That's how i use it.

So I understand what this mod does, and how it does it. But can someone give me an idea of why I would use the rankings? Such as some examples.
I've actually had the mod for awhile and realized I never used it because I'm not sure what situations it would be good to do so. But reading the comments people really seem to like the mod, so I'm wondering where it comes in handy. Thanks!

Anyone know of a mod that does this but does it with the Outfit and Food Assign Restrictions? So that the colonists can check rank list 1 for items and if none are available they will go to the next rank?

Yup a method change from the 12/1 update broke this.
