AR-12 is the shotgun version of the AR-15
There is the AR-12 (RAS-12) which is an AR-12 in 12 Gauge. There is also the Molot Vepr, but that is Russian.
Also they have expanded to modernize the family more than anything else. The AK-100 was an attempt at making the weapon friendlier to NATO countries, the same with the 200 series, AK-12/RPK-15 were made for SPEC-OPS. The AK-47 though is no longer in service and is just surplus. The only time the 47 would ever be used is if shit hit the fan and Russia ran out of AK-74s/100s/12s/200s. Which, if you haven't noticed, Russia's entire battle plan in every major conflict has been "Holy shit bois, just mass produce it and throw it at the enemy in overwhelming quantities." Russia in a nutshell.
