the problem with the athenian attire is that its such a huge region on his chest that's covered

We have had an item's paintability disabled in the past for having a sash paintalble just the same. I feel like the golden trim wouldn't match well with the rest of the set painted, as the gold would be gone. You might be right about the belt though.
