I apologise for my absence from this mod for the past several years (life has been exeptionally chaotic and I simply did not have the time, nor interest to continue modding).
I am going through and updating all of my mods to be up-to-date with the most recent patch (The Twisted and the Twilight).
I hope this helps any issues that have occurred. Please let me know if any further issues arise!
Please just hit the damn 'update' button!
I really appreciate your work to fix this problem with the settlement skins.
CA released a new documentation for modders, they added new Lua commands and changed db tables. maybe it's now moddable? would be the easiest way for CA.
would be cool if you could take a look if something changed and if its possible now to mod back the WH1 style :)

Because if you love the flags, you can keep playing vanilla without this mod. It's not that hard to understand that the mod is a thing for people who find the flags to stick out badly.
This mod is a thing because not everyone likes the flags. They are an eyesore in my opinion.
no, its not what we are asking for. just look at it. I can't even see the vampire castle on bretonnian ones when I play Heinrich Kemmler. and on minor settlement, there are clipping issues. and there are shader issues, too, because two settlements at once are casting shadows. and this also have a performance impact on low-mid tier PC's.
@Guvenoren i contacted CA, but they didn't answered. I guess we have to wait for WARHAMMER III, so at least it become moddable.
I never understood why this is hardcoded...
Search "Cultural settlement" in the workshop.
They are indeed, and this mod removes them. There are players, myself included, that very much dislike the game 2 method of sticking flags round a settlement instead of the settlement changing to represent the new owner.
As I mentioned in the description, this mod works well alongside a mod (the one I linked) which places a settlement overlay of your own factions over the town when you take it.
This is the best that modders can do for now unfortunately, and up until we weren't even able to remove the flags (to the best of my knowledge) :).
Use this mod here,
make every settlement on the map a ruin (or something simliar, it has to be a small skin! or assign a not visbile skin if you know what i mean),
and than use the tier 3 (because its in the middle) settlements as overlays (like the cultural settlement skins mod)
and you basically have the good Warhammer 1 solution. the only difference: you cant see differences when upgrading Tier 1-5.. i guess this would not be possible.
