Greetings all and happy holidays :).

I apologise for my absence from this mod for the past several years (life has been exeptionally chaotic and I simply did not have the time, nor interest to continue modding).

I am going through and updating all of my mods to be up-to-date with the most recent patch (The Twisted and the Twilight).

I hope this helps any issues that have occurred. Please let me know if any further issues arise!

I consider this mod essential and I just use the normal CA mod manager and have a ton of mods. Works great... One thing there is no mod for yet is 1) hiding the province lines for screenshots.. and 2) hiding the large faction and army flags above cities and armies for screenshots.. I hope someone makes that soon or I will have to learn how to mod that...

This mod works absolutely fine for me. If you're having any trouble make sure to use Kaedrin's mod manager.

Please update your great mod Pythax! It is so much better to play without that senseless flags.

@Pythax
I really appreciate your work to fix this problem with the settlement skins.
CA released a new documentation for modders, they added new Lua commands and changed db tables. maybe it's now moddable? would be the easiest way for CA.
would be cool if you could take a look if something changed and if its possible now to mod back the WH1 style :)

Because if you love the flags, you can keep playing vanilla without this mod. It's not that hard to understand that the mod is a thing for people who find the flags to stick out badly.

@Topmark
This mod is a thing because not everyone likes the flags. They are an eyesore in my opinion.

@Obergruppenführer Mese
no, its not what we are asking for. just look at it. I can't even see the vampire castle on bretonnian ones when I play Heinrich Kemmler. and on minor settlement, there are clipping issues. and there are shader issues, too, because two settlements at once are casting shadows. and this also have a performance impact on low-mid tier PC's.

@Guvenoren i contacted CA, but they didn't answered. I guess we have to wait for WARHAMMER III, so at least it become moddable.
I never understood why this is hardcoded...
Topmark 25 Nov, 2018 @ 7:25am
i love the flags, dont see why this mod is a thing.
MesseV 24 Nov, 2018 @ 11:07pm
There is a mod that brings back the cultural settlements. Use it with this mod and you might just have what you've been asking for.
Search "Cultural settlement" in the workshop.
Guvenoren 24 Nov, 2018 @ 8:08pm
Don't get me wrong, I dislike it too. I want that Warhammer 1 sense of it again. I am not saying you're doing anything wrong. I just wish that we could get the results that we're looking for.
Pythax  [author] 24 Nov, 2018 @ 8:01pm
@Guvenoren

They are indeed, and this mod removes them. There are players, myself included, that very much dislike the game 2 method of sticking flags round a settlement instead of the settlement changing to represent the new owner.

As I mentioned in the description, this mod works well alongside a mod (the one I linked) which places a settlement overlay of your own factions over the town when you take it.

This is the best that modders can do for now unfortunately, and up until we weren't even able to remove the flags (to the best of my knowledge) :).
Guvenoren 24 Nov, 2018 @ 4:19pm
I do believe those flags are there to respesent what culture holds the settlements, since they removed settlement cutlural variations that existed in WH1.
xXAlduin99 21 Nov, 2018 @ 8:02am
I have an idea, but I am no modder so i don't know if this works.
Use this mod here,
make every settlement on the map a ruin (or something simliar, it has to be a small skin! or assign a not visbile skin if you know what i mean),
and than use the tier 3 (because its in the middle) settlements as overlays (like the cultural settlement skins mod)

and you basically have the good Warhammer 1 solution. the only difference: you cant see differences when upgrading Tier 1-5.. i guess this would not be possible.
Bishamonten 21 Nov, 2018 @ 7:35am
Thanks so much man, you are i think the only one to have make something about those irritating flags, thanks again man
