@ShaneRyan: I finally got a dedicated server set up to test on, and the mod works fine for me; setting "Turn Off Starve Damage" to "Yes" works for me, even with "Health Degeneration" -> "Interval" set to "Off". You may be seeing either a max-health or health degeneration happening due to having those enabled (their "Interval" setting) with some settings that react to the current health being low, or your modoverrides.lua file doesn't have the right settings.

Please do report any bugs! I may get to them later than we all want, but I will investigate promptly to see if I can replicate bug reports, so I can gauge the damage.

Sincerely, Ultroman the Tacoman

Is this mod still working? I tried testing by turning hunger degeneration off but I'm still loosing a point of hunger every 5 seconds. I have it installed on a dedicated server.

@Elio: What seems to be the problem? I need more information if I'm to help you :) The mod is very complex with many settings, many of which completely stop it from working if set up improperly. I've tried describing the settings as best I could in the mod description here on the workshop, but I can only write so much. I'm VERY interested to hear if you have found a bug! I will fix it ASAP if you can tell me what the bug is, what you were expecting it to do, and last but NOT least, which settings you used.

SIncerely, Ultroman the Tacoman

not working properly

UPDATE:
- Fixed bug with max-health degen always being on, if "all thresholds must break" was true and only the hunger-threshold was used. A very, very specific bug :)

Huge thanks to Nuudson007 for reporting!!

I think there is a problem with the max health degeneration, i put it to degen max health when below 5 % hunger and must break all thresholds and 1 damage per 1/16 clock segment, but it kept degenning it even when i had full hunger. so would really appreciate the help. again :P

UPDATE:
- Made the mod more automatically adaptable to changes to the game, whether through updates or mods.

Thanks :) no worries you’re already done a lot of cool stuff, hope You do good with your new job :3, Nice talking to You, keep up The amazing work. Hope to talk to You again sometime soon, byee ^_^

@Nuudson007: Thanks for the suggestions :D I could add thresholds/requirements for the regen for temperatures and wetness. That shouldn't be too difficult. It is getting to the point where it's a lot of things that need to be maintained in order for the regen/degen to work, and it is limiting that you can only make one regen and one degen for each stat, but it's all customizable, so I guess it's fine.

Adjusting speed would be an entirely different mod, and I'm not looking to make new mods right now. Just started a new job I want to focus on, and I still have some work on my other mods. You can leave a mod suggestion on the Klei modding forums [forums.kleientertainment.com].

It is a lot of work, but I do it because mostly it doesn't feel like work to me. My only problem is the amount of time it takes away from IRL stuff.

I'll see what I can do, but don't expect it too soon ;)

Sincerely, Ultroman the Tacoman
Nuudson007 17 Oct, 2019 @ 11:07am
and maybe you could customize the speed based on if you have full health or if you are wet or something. just some ideas, hope it isn´t too much work. i don´t really know how much iwork it is
Nuudson007 17 Oct, 2019 @ 10:36am
can you add a feature for tempature and wetness level, so if youre wet you could regen health and stuff. your mods are so awesome though thank you so much :3

MASSIVE UPDATE!!!

I am sorry to have kept you all waiting for this huge update for so long. I finally finished my master's degree and have started figuring out my life after that. Now I found some time to finish what I started long ago, and this is the result. I hope you like it!

Change log:
- Split up regeneration and degeneration, with specialized settings for both types.

Check out the new Settings Information section in the mod description to see how all of this new stuff works!

You can now have your players lose max-health if their hunger, sanity and / or health are below certain thresholds, and let them gain it back once they increase their hunger, sanity and / or health above certain percentage requirements. You can do the same for all the different stats, with individual thresholds and requirements for each of them.

So many possibilities for a much more dynamic game!

Enjoy!

Sincerely, Ultroman the Tacoman

@naseer and @EvilKitty3: Thank you very much! :D I can't wait to get some free time again, so I can finish the absolutely fabulous update I have in the works. It's gonna be goooood!

Hello everyone.

I have chosen to delay updating the mod a few days, as I had to do some extra work on my master thesis for a partial deadline.

The update is still coming, the coding is going well, and I'm sure you'll find the new features of the mod a breath of fresh air for the game. It facilitates increased dynamism in the game, and I can't wait to reveal the new features to you! :D

Hey guys.

I've noticed a few bugs. Most importantly that you can die from regenerating, if you have health cost on and health threshold set to 0.

I'll have a new update ready within the week, with 70% overhauled and optimized code and an EXPONENTIAL increase in utility for the mod, so stay tuned! :D

@Luny: Yeah, I've been meaning to add some more description, since it's confusing to some. Everything hinges on the meaning of the word "interval" as "a period between two events", and the concept of there being a certain number of clock segments per day (usually 16).

Like I wrote in an earlier post:
Fx. a "health regen interval" of "1/8 segment" means that the "health regen amount" is applied once every eighth of a clock segment i.e. 8 times per clock segment. The threshold is the maximum health you can regenerate to, so as long as you are below this threshold percentage, it will regen. When your health is above the threshold, it will not regen until you get below the threshold again. The "combat delay" makes it not regen for the given amount of time, after attacking, being hit, or blocking. "Move delay" makes it stop regenerating, until you stand still for the set amount of seconds.

Hope that helps! Have a nice day of playing :)

This looks awesome, I really want to be able to regenerate health in the game and not have to make healing salves all the time. But I don't understand the settings like the health regen interval. What is a clock segment? Why does it say 1/16 (like one every 16th) but then it says 16 times per clock segment, which makes it seem like 16/1 and like every time this clock segment whatever it is maybe another day ticks by, would that heal me 16 times the amount every "clock segment"? Or does it mean like there's 16 times during one "clock segment" so during one day for example that I will regen? Help really appreciated

UPDATE:
- Removed all_clients_require_mod tag, since this is a pure server mod.

@ChainedDjinn: I'll keep the idea in mind. It's a good one, but I'll have to think it over for a while, to find the best way of implementing it, so it doesn't explode in settings, while keeping it customizable enough to be useful.

Thanks for another good suggestion!

Oh! I had no idea about the auto DL! Thought only people who had the mod could play, I'll have to remember or test that.

As for "too many settings" I believe you can never have TOO much. Having it as an option and simply setting it to default should be enough for people to run with it until they think they can grasp it.
But that's simply my way of seeing it.
I've like the idea of having characters that are multifaceted in preformance or role; Bruce banner to Increadable Hulk and all that.

Having a character who can not get hungery by meditation but when hungry loses that peace of mind tickles my fancy I guess.

Also, I think I tried using other mods for metabolizem and sanity but they didn't do anything; The stats kept progressing at the same rate as if the mod was off.

Also, thanks for the quick reply! Was not expecting that.
Ultroman the Tacoman  [author] 4 Dec, 2018 @ 1:00pm
@ChainedDjinn: Well, using the "Minimum hunger/health/sanity requirement" settings, you can do half of what you're after. Maybe if I split it into three regen mods, one for health, one for sanity and one for food, I could do what you're after, but if I try to mash it all into one mod, it'll have too many settings...maybe.

This IS server-side. I'm not actually sure if it even requires all players to have it. I'll look into that, and update the mod to not require all players to have it, if I can. That said, don't most people have the option on, to always automatically download mods required for a server? If they do, they don't need to do anything manually.

Sincerely, Ultroman the Tacoman
ChainedDjinn 4 Dec, 2018 @ 12:48pm
Ooooohhh, I like the sound of this, but I thought it was something else. :steammocking:

When I read it, I thought it ment something along the lines of being able to link regen between the separate stats, for example;
Food over 3/4 = health increases
Food under 1/4 = sanity decreases
Health over 5/8 = sanity increases
Sanity over 5/6 = slower matabolizem

I've wanted to make a character with such a system, but I have no clue how to mod and am rather poor at art so... meh.:steamfacepalm:
This does look promising though, just wish it was server side so others don't have to go through hassle of DLing just to play on my server. Might check it out anyway.

OK, I'll see if I can find some better wording. But for you right now: "1/8 segment" means the "health regen amount" is applied 8 times per clock segment. The threshold is the maximum health you can regenerate to, so as long as you are below this threshold percentage, it will regen. When your health is above the threshold, it will not regen until you get below the threshold again. The "combat delay" makes it not regen for the given amount of time, after attacking, being hit, or blocking. "Move delay" makes it stop regenerating, until you stand still for the set amount of seconds.

theres just a lot of presets you can change in the menu, and it gets pretty confusing another a bit, wondering if the health regens after every 1/8 a clock cycle or if it regens when you reach the health or if it regens after taking damage. same with hunger and sanity

its a really great mod, and it might just be me, but i cant make much sense of it
Ultroman the Tacoman  [author] 30 Nov, 2018 @ 3:58pm
@BehemothTheMechanic: Which things are confusing? Since I built the thing, it all makes perfect sense to me, but if you find it confusing, there are probably many others who have the same experience. I would love any feedback as to which things you were confused by, even in the slightest, and I will try my best to change the labels and tooltips.

Thanks in advance!

@Takumi: Thank you very much! :D So glad to hear from you. That makes all this time developing the mods worth while. Be sure to give my other mods a look. For example, "Long-range Research" really offers a tremendously enhanced experience, even for the purists.
