Good job man. This should have just been in the game!

Great mod! If you want to fill up your limb cabinet more quickly try using with NPCs Equip Robot Limbs

@jaymcflurry69, that's interesting! it's been years since I've looked at the forgotten construction set, and I had thought I set it to only be capable of storing limbs, but I'm not too surprised. Limbs were kind of a weird case where they couldn't be selected in the "normal" way for setting it up for crafting drop-off and storage restrictions. Not sure if it's a bug in the vanilla game code, and if it is it might just not be possible to have only limbs due to that.

Since I don't think anyone will have a problem with that, I won't bother looking into it. It does the job well for it was made to do anyway :)

Great mod! Makes stealing limbs an even more lucrative prospect, haha. This may have already been pointed out but you can store other random things in here (just a heads up is all).

@pgames-food, you're welcome! I haven't even looked at this game for a long time, so I hope the mod is still serviceable!
pgames-food 29 Dec, 2021 @ 6:53pm
every since i lost some limbs on characters, i stopped selling spares i found, and started storing them just in case needed, and when i start making them too this will be useful so thanks ;)

@Shipe-Knarf, da Toof Grinda, although I haven't touched Kenshi in a long while, I'm glad to hear the mod's still holding up and of good use! Still surprised this kind of container was never made as a standard to the game either.

I wonder if the tech tree changed since I made this mod? I'm pretty confident that when I made the mod originally, the research starts with the hiver skele legs, as I was looking directly at the research progression in the Forgotten Construction Set to verify this.
Shipe-Knarf, da Toof Grinda 2 Mar, 2021 @ 5:54pm
I think you can actually research either Hiver Skeleton Legs OR Hiver Skeletons Arms as your first, but I'm not 100%. Anyways, love the mod. Saves SOOOOOO much time for me when farming better quality Skelly limbs. Really increased the quality of life, especially for my Skelly only run.
Brandenfascher  [author] 20 Jun, 2020 @ 9:54am
@duanethebathtub: I'm a little confused at this, because (not having played Kenshi in a long while and having to look at it again) Hiver Skeleton Legs still appears to be the first required research in the tech tree before access to any and all other skeleton legs and arms research (in the vanilla game).

Because of this, I felt it made sense to have the container's research option available once the first possible crafting limb was researched since that's really the only time it would have any benefit of use.

The whole point of this limb storage is so that, like other specialized crafting storage in vanilla, it can be a dedicated place for crafted limbs to be placed automatically by the crafter from after completion on the workbench. Otherwise, I figure any general storage container can be just as useful if not better for storing limbs found exploring or bought from stores in the game.

This is a good idea... but it costs like 6 Ancient Science books to research Hiver basic skely legs (which I don't use). Perhaps move to a cheaper area under "storage"?

@Radiosity Regarding the big save files: You have to import regularly to prevent save bloating. My last save went from 120mb down to 8mb after importing.
Radiosity 16 Sep, 2019 @ 2:27pm
Thanks for the reply :) Unfortunately, I don't have the exact save any more, or I'd have tested it again on that one. Turns out Kenshi saves are QUITE BIG and I realised I was using 20GB of my SSD on saves alone, lol. Still, I've reinstalled the mod to try it again, and this time research bench and storage all seem to work okay.

Fortunately, I still had the same research bench even though I'd moved to a proper base by now, so I was able to test. Seems to work fine, the storage research appeared okay as well. So yeah, must've just been something weird.

Actually, I did do an import to fix a couple of broken towns, so I guess that might've fixed whatever was causing the problem with your mod as well.
Brandenfascher  [author] 15 Sep, 2019 @ 7:09pm
@Radiosity, that's really strange. To make things worse, I loaded up my game and I'm unable to replicate this issue. I'm guessing you have other mods installed, and I somewhat wonder if it's a mod conflict, though that seems ridiculous as well since this mod doesn't modify any existing game objects; it just creates a new research option that unlocks a new storage bin, so short of a mod reworking the entire research system, I wouldn't think there should be a conflict. It could also be one really weird Kenshi bug that cropped up on your save game that oddly doesn't like my mod. I have no clue.

The last thing I can think is for you to try testing a new game with all mods disabled except this one and use the in game editor to cheat in buildings, resources, etc, to try to reproduce the issue clean. However, I understand even doing that is a bunch of work for you, and just for this simple mod. I apologize won't be able to troubleshoot further for you.
Radiosity 10 Sep, 2019 @ 7:42am
So after installing this, any crafting bench or storage on the roof of a building is no longer accessible. Can't get into my research books (including Ancient Science and AI Cores), my crossbow crafting stuff is impossible to select, etc. If I click on them, it just selects the building beneath them. Storage 'inside' the buildings still seems okay. After removing the mod, they all work again.
天黑想着天亮 24 Jul, 2019 @ 6:26am
Is it in storage? Why can't I find this thing
Химари 24 Apr, 2019 @ 2:42am
The preservation was with the mod, I just brought the prostheses from the journey and the NPC did not have time to leave the box. But if I turn on the mod again, the box simply does not appear in the place where it was before. I understand, this is my joint, but as a whole it is insulting, so I wrote, people can avoid it fail.
Brandenfascher  [author] 23 Apr, 2019 @ 8:11pm
@Химари, that is true. I believe this can also be said for pretty much any mod that introduces their own containers, as I don't think anything can be done about what happens to content from disabled mods on loading a save file. However, you should be able to get them back on a save file that at the time of saving had the mod enabled. Don't forget to save often!
Химари 23 Apr, 2019 @ 1:36am
Be cautiously. If you disable the mod, the drawer will disappear along with the dentures. Turning on the mod after you do not get the dentures back.
TwerkBot 10 Apr, 2019 @ 11:41pm
Thanks man!

@The_Twick, imports shouldn't be necessary
Twick 14 Mar, 2019 @ 12:42am
Do i need to import for this?

Thanks for the reply, thanks for this mod!
Brandenfascher  [author] 4 Mar, 2019 @ 7:44pm
@Barrio505, this is just for Skeleton Limbs. I don't like mixing different types of items into one container, because the vanilla robotics parts container is a horrible management nightmare.

I'm not sure if I'll make a container just for repair kits. If I do, I don't think it will be any time soon because life is such a time sink lately.
Barrio505 3 Mar, 2019 @ 10:49pm
Does it work with repair kits? If not then there is an idea, make automating those easier as well!
Lukewarm 3 Mar, 2019 @ 3:16am
thank you so much for this! appreciate the work!
