@FreeZA: There's nothing in the map using a texture with that name or path. The issue is most likely caused by another addon you're using.

@christianalexander & MorgMaster83: The next GMod update should include most of the assets from the HL2 episodes, so that should fix the issue. Until then, see this thread for a workaround.

I feel an evil presence in this map and I have a suspicion that it always comes back.

This map and the ijm version are collectively one of my favorite arctic maps in Gmod.

@jakkapakkaman: When the issue occurs, tell your friend to open the console (Shift+Esc) and then enter these commands one line at a time:

After entering each command, the console should show the path that that particular material/texture is being loaded from. If it points to anything other than gm_boreas or GMod/HL2, that's probably what's causing the issue.

@jakkapakkaman: Does it also happen when they play this map in singleplayer mode? If so, what happens when they temporarily disable all other addons, restart GMod and then try again? (Also, it'd probably be easier if your friend would respond themselves and share a screenshot of the issue)

so uh, pretty late response, my friend joined (they followed the steps) and the purple and black error persists. my other friend joined and its completely fine, did he do something wrong or is it something client related?

@Charmyzard: Simfphys vehicles and the default sandbox weapons/tools worked fine for me, last time I tried. Either way, you'll have to report this to the authors of those addons. If it's a bug in their code, they should fix it themselves. If not, they need to provide me with information on what's causing the issue and how I can prevent it as a map creator. (Let's hope the latter won't be necessary, because I'm no longer updating my maps)
