Cause it would just look off if the textures(and filesize) are halved, it's 256px per sq.m.
That's the same texel ratio almost all PlanCo items use. I've went down to around 180 per. sqm. by now but any lower and items just look too blurry. That's the trade-off.

lol.... it is exactly the file size it's suppose to be to fit with ingame scales and finished... (max budget for max size = 2048 for a 8m item, 1024 for a 4m. ;) You're doing very good stuff!

Really too large a file for what it is. Try reducing the texture size.
