I originally intended on adding more variants, perhaps i will circle back to this.

The problem with "Reaction Control System (cheat mod)" from knsgf is that you either WASD or steer with mouse, but you can't do both effectively at the same time (as he also states in his mod description). The ship becomes far less manouvrable excecially for precision manouvering. Differential thrusters from knsgf, despite being far more customizable, is not playable in MP.

i'll stick with your mod, in which you manage to achieve a sort of balance between the 2. the only downside is that using only your mod, regular thrusters end up appling force on center of mass instead where the thruster is placed.

It would be great if atmospheric aerospike and ion aerospike could be added, so that hydrogen-less ships could benefit from this mod too

digi's mod is trash. Use knsgf's mod if you want all the thrusters behaving like this.

Excellent mod, thanks a lot!! is there a way (maybe planned for future) to have your thrusters without losing the realistic aspect of digi's mod being applied to standard thrusters?

Thanks for the quick fix.

One of the players on my server was getting a client crash which appears related to this every time he dies and respawns:

deleted lol. If you hate Weaponcore you can get lost, I will not tolerate that nonsense here.
SoulDragonWithFlow 10 Aug, 2023 @ 6:39pm
Yeah, I like the way Cython's mod does things without the obnoxious bubble; might be more performance friendly on large ships/stations too but I have tested that theory. In any case, both have minimal performance impact from what I understand. Still seems like a strange and unnecessary conflict tho.
Wish Dragon 23 Apr, 2023 @ 12:50am
One benefit of Cython's is not having to deal with an ovoid/sphere shield and having it conform directly to the ship instead, but otherwise defense shields is better in most other ways
AutoMcDonough  [author] 21 Feb, 2023 @ 4:06pm
i don't understand why people still use that when such a better shield mod exists
Kam Solastor 21 Feb, 2023 @ 3:26pm
Can confirm the crash issue with Cython's energy shields.
BIV 31 Jan, 2022 @ 8:23pm
Great addition to the mods selection, thanks for your time and effort building it and adding it.

Here you go: https://www.dropbox.com/s/vl4b9xzj3ox0fxz/Agaris-BlackHole%201.zip?dl=0 .
Note that you still need to use Plugin Loader, SEWorldGenPlugin V2, SteamWorkshopFix
Knsgf 17 Nov, 2021 @ 3:36pm
Sharing that save would still help.
Selphadur 17 Nov, 2021 @ 3:34pm
Can't help with that as I already removed this mod from my save.
Knsgf 17 Nov, 2021 @ 3:27pm
This doesn't tell me where exactly the crash occurs. Logs and world are still required.
Selphadur 17 Nov, 2021 @ 3:20pm
Removing this mod stops crashing. So it IS causing, at least partially.
Knsgf 17 Nov, 2021 @ 3:06pm
Made a brand new asteroids world with reported mods. Power lines, shields and thrusters were working in that nicely, so the crash must be caused by something else. Logs and world link are necessary to find out what is going wrong.
AutoMcDonough  [author] 17 Nov, 2021 @ 10:39am
that is the worse one lol. i’ll still try to see what the conflict is though.
Selphadur 17 Nov, 2021 @ 5:45am
Cython's Energy Shields. Did not test with Defensive Shields
AutoMcDonough  [author] 17 Nov, 2021 @ 5:14am
darkstar’s shields or the old cython one?
poles tether is a new mod, will get some logs and check it out.
GodsAnger 16 Nov, 2021 @ 6:21pm
Same for me, mod conflict
Selphadur 16 Nov, 2021 @ 4:12pm
This mod is not only crashing game with Energy Shields mod, but also "Tethers - Power Poles" mod: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2648152224
It is great mod, but something is really messed up. Can't use it.
Ternesj Sepa 5 Oct, 2021 @ 9:02pm
@autoMcDonough i use them both actually
AutoMcDonough  [author] 5 Oct, 2021 @ 12:48pm
are you using darkstar’s energy shield or the old cython one? because i use this with darkstar’s shields and it is fine. also darkstar’s shield mod is the one you should be using anyways.
Ternesj Sepa 5 Oct, 2021 @ 10:24am
after having spending more then a few hours going through my mods to figure out why my game kept crashing when i tried to build the energy shield, ive discovered this mod was the cause of the crashing..... has anyone else had an issue with their game/server crashing when trying to build the energy shield generator when this mod was installed?
AutoMcDonough  [author] 17 Sep, 2021 @ 5:09am
Not really. If it's too fast you can swap them out for normal thrusters or just turn them off.
h . 16 Sep, 2021 @ 10:24pm
is there a way for me to reduce the number of thrusters used for maneuvering? I like the efficiency of them but since I have so many of them my ship turns WAAYYYYY too fast.
AutoMcDonough  [author] 14 Jul, 2021 @ 5:16am
interesting idea but i am too busy to do commission work atm. also unsure i would even want that. maybe if it was using fuel but way less electricity that would make it compelling to use, otherwise i don’t see it worth the logistical hassle.
AutoMcDonough  [author] 31 May, 2021 @ 5:46am
yeah I should add to this
Aryemis 30 May, 2021 @ 9:08pm
Heya MA really like this mod but I do wish there was a 3x3 version of it so I could use it even on my larger ships (or even 5x5)
Some ion powered ones would be nice as well to facilite placement
Gryphorim 8 Apr, 2020 @ 8:02pm
Is it possible for a thruster to still produce a damaging flame, but offset the beginning of that damage zone by several blocks? If so, that would allow thrusters to be stacked, but not infinitely. For example making Ion or Atmo thrusters, with a stacked hydrogen thruster for use as an afterburner. More true to life than just hiding the thruster inside the ship, like so many do.
Gryphorim 8 Apr, 2020 @ 7:58pm
My wishlist for this mod:
-Angled armour block version
-Ion and Atmo versions, possibly with no new model, just a flame colour change.
-Semi-circular aerospike endcap, and linear aerospike "middle" versions for making linear array engines
-Large version
-Unarmoured version
-"Epstein" or "Fusion" engine with hybrid or ion and hydrogen properties, possibly with same upgrades as MA weapons when they are released for fuel efficiency or thrust using lasers!
-really stretching it here, but vectored thrust? maybe by having a diagonal block with 3 axis of thrust at 90deg? So it's basically 3 thrusters in 1 block.
Bazil T Yat 11 Feb, 2020 @ 1:59am
I'd like some diagonals
AutoMcDonough  [author] 7 Feb, 2020 @ 11:37am
not difficult, i have plans on adding more variants at some point in the future.
DartTimeTime 7 Feb, 2020 @ 10:05am
This is a must-have mod for me. Though, can I ask if there's a more powerful version? If not, how hard would it be to make a more powerful version?
Victoria, Angel of the void 12 Jan, 2020 @ 12:46pm
This was an amazing mod when I last used it... Great concept.
I wish that we could get something like this standard for SE.

That being said, I don't actually think I've used these much... lol
Bazil T Yat 6 Jun, 2019 @ 8:23am
Further investigation seems to imply the elevator or my torpedo printers being the cause
AutoMcDonough  [author] 6 Jun, 2019 @ 7:21am
Thanks. :)
So, still planning to make linear version. And also a compact nacelle pack for drones.
Bazil T Yat 6 Jun, 2019 @ 5:12am
Edit: Testing so far confirms, not the thrusters... which is a relief because I like 'em too much.
Bazil T Yat 6 Jun, 2019 @ 5:12am
I didn't think it was this one specifically. Could it be the elevators? Is there any way to see where the torque is coming from?
AutoMcDonough  [author] 5 Jun, 2019 @ 6:05pm
That sounds like phantom torque from some subgrid interaction. Very unlikely to be this mod, but to test you can try with and without the mod.
Bazil T Yat 5 Jun, 2019 @ 5:02pm
I can't tell if it's this, the elevator, or something else, but my elevators no get stuck and there's a constant 0.07 m/s impetus on my ship now, and I can't figure out why.
AutoMcDonough  [author] 21 Mar, 2019 @ 7:25pm
Angled thruster not possible without subgrid. I do want to make a linear version when I find the time.
Gryphorim 21 Mar, 2019 @ 7:07pm
Is it possible to make a thruster (a variant of this one, maybe) that fires on a 45 degree diagonal direction to the grid? I have a build in mind, where a ship would have rcs firing X-shaped, rather than +-shaped, and would rather avoid using rotors to position thrusters. So can it be done? Would thrust have to be coded to have an X- component and a Y- component? Or can the axis of thrust be directly defined.

Other than that, these thrusters are really neat, would love some variants, though, like an angled armoured mounting (like those that other mods have, not necessarily as described above, and maybe large thruster versions (with 5 nozzles, perhaps?)
AutoMcDonough  [author] 15 Feb, 2019 @ 4:18pm
fixed small thruster flame
