There is a mod that reverts the Tactical Shotgun and Hunting Rifle stats to what they were in L4D1.

Well, THIS is obsolete. You are now able to play L4D1 Coop in Singleplayer, thanks to the Last Stand update.

DIOcletian That is highly opinion based. Many of us find that Left 4 Dead 1 has a noticeable difference in feel to the gameplay; that its snappier and more satisfying. Left 4 Dead 2 feels floaty and silly and I don't get the same satisfaction from killing a zombie as I do in one.

Pies There's plenty of mods that convert a lot of things back to how they were in L4D1, so you can get pretty much the same experience if you just know where to look while keeping some of the good features like melee weapons.

To people who really want a L4D1 experience, go buy L4D1. Although it is pale in comparison to L4D2.

@Gamer_X No, this is literally a copy-paste of the L4D1 Co-Op EMS that was in one of the updates, but with a couple variables added so you can play it by yourself and pause the game. You still have the other three survivors with you.

Thank you for making this mutagen to allow play in single player or offline!

It would be nice to allow the L4D2 new weapons and items but without the L4D2 special infected, is this possible?

@ShavedFanatic do you play on the Left 4 Dead 2 Campaigns because that might explain why the game might be trying to spawn in defibs and adren shots but because of the gamemode it spawns in health packs it does that in the L4D1 Coop mutation but only on L4D2 campaigns

Just like any other mutation mod. Just download it and enable it under Add-Ons at the main menu. Then go into the Mutations tab and select L4D1 Single Player.

That must be an issue on the director's end. All I've done is create another gamemode that is told to use the same settings as the L4D1 Co-Op mutation, and only allow one player.

Well I still play Left 4 Dead from time to time. Some things are more polished, different infected, animations, stuff like that. You can get pretty close to L4D1 with L4D2, but I think it will be a while before there's a collection of mods that fully simulate L4D1.

the problem with these l4d1 mutations and the l4d1 ports is that they make people think there is no purpose in playing l4d1

The EMS update added a L4D1 mutation, which changes the game so that it plays more like L4D1 (removing L4D2 stuff [Charger/Jockey, melee, etc.], primary weapon changes, etc.). However, it could only be played in campaign/versus. This mod allows you to play it single player, without having to hook up to a compatible server.

Bots do not pick up any grenades. Aside from that, it seems to work as intended.
