Isn't getting physical currency undercutting the whole point of having crypto? Imagine having to haul all your crypto coins with you on your travels instead of accessing them via a hardware wallet instead. Right now you've just crated a money printing machine, which is conceptually not that interesting.

What I would be looking for in a crypto currency mod is at least a way to carry value with me without it costing storage space / adding weight to my caravan. Or to send a transaction to one of my colony's / ally's.

Or any type of functionality that crypto currency offers which can not be replaced with traditional currency systems.

Can you make a mod where you can store your currency using a lighter and less ugly form than Silver? If we could "upload" money to a bank system that would be great, but a form of paper money would also be nice.

I don't know much about crypto curency and how to mine it, but it looks so dumb that you need to grow a damn bitcoin as an cucumber or tomato.. I was expecting it to be automatic system, something like infinite chemfuel generator, that produces 75 chemfuel in 7 days and just spawns it nearby.
I have a lot of farms to take care of, having one person to "grow coins" like fruits is not something that I would prefer to do.
Will the core systems of this mod change in the updates?

I think it would be useful if you had set the rate of gain to something similar to the cost of running such an operation.

Do all your pawns get -30 mood drops whenever it crashes?

@anti-troll, yes but if they reach a temperature of over +140F, the server room will catch on fire to +2000F. any cooling or Climate Control mod is perfect, or arctic weather.

@Vanlou Thanks, I've found a perfect Donor for the mod, it will remove depencies for Cultured meat mod completely. 2 more additional miners will be added!

@Zyrixion, I will have a look into the code and make the modifications to it.

@ShadowStalker182 Not sure if you're aware, but your xml patches are basically erasing all the silver stock that all forms of traders have. This is not advertised, probably not a feature most people want, and at the least should be warned of.

I'm curious to know what the incompatibility is. Sounds a bit random.

Well I meant for cryptocurrency mining to actually be a thing you need to have a substantive user base that it supplying maths problems to be mined in the first place. And although a personal opinion, I could only see space faring factions as being the ones supplying these in the Rimworld lore.

As such you'd need a constant capability of communicating into space to an acceptable cryptocurrency node to be able to complete proof-of-work tasks. This would suggest improved and more substantive communication facilites than the orbital communicator used to contact space traders who occasionally frequent the planet.

As such I would only see trade occuring with the space traders, unless the planetary factions available were actually of glittertech capability/level. But this is not always the case, certainly not in vanilla and only made available through modding.

@wiz soon!

@pelador, forgot to mention, you can trade it with factions and orbital traders :)
Pelador 2 Dec, 2018 @ 10:30pm
Now you just need to add factions with appropriate technologies that would make use of the capability to allow for bitcoin to be a reality.

The simplest solution could be if you made appropriate additional communication tech to work alongside the bitcoin mining. This then would at least substantiate a use amongst the network of space faring trading ships and their factions?
