I can confirm it works with ACE. Someone picked up 7 logs and I couldn't be happier because it would be a mess if they could only pick up one thing at a time.

@Rhyagelle That's less an issue with the mod, and one of the unfixable things with the game. If for ANY reason they get stopped in the middle of a carry task, they just stop and drop everything. In this case, when the chest gets full, it interrupts the task, and the game doesn't have any "Just turn left and use the next chest" it reads it as being unable to complete, so they just throw everything on the ground, and pick up the next task in the queue that someone isn't assigned to, then the NEXT guy gets the task to pick up all the crap the LAST guy dropped. I would suggest getting something like Huge Chests mod, or something along those lines to help prevent that, and have more storage.
Rhyagelle 2 Feb, 2022 @ 2:12pm
Im finding that they pick up everything they can, but if the container they are transporting to cant hold as much as they carry, they dump the rest of their inventory on the ground for the next guy to pick up and haul

So its ACE compatible?
TacocaT  [author] 17 Jun, 2021 @ 5:26am
@DaniAngione Hey great to hear from one of the greats! I will look over my mod today an try to clean it up. Thanks for the heads up!
DaniAngione 15 Jun, 2021 @ 3:36pm
Hey there! :D
I was investigating some stuff that was reported and ended up looking into the mod, I've noticed that you've included some constants that you don't really use or touch in the constants mixin - but by including them you actually "run them over" any changes to these constants that other mods could possibly have made... so I wanted to suggest that maybe - if possible - it could be nice to not include these constants in the mixinto so tweaks made by ACE won't be overriden back to vanilla values! :D

Other than that, very helpful mod!

Does this mod work with ace?
HoloShaii 5 Apr, 2021 @ 1:03am
Hey there!

I encountered a little problem using this mod, whenever the hearthlings restock an oven with fuel, they take too much fuel with them, resulting in the remaining fuel to be left in front of the oven. Because the items are left in front of the oven they have a small chance to become unable to use the oven, and will never clean up the fuel in front of it, even when there is enough space in storage.

Could you take a look if you can reproduce this?

Many thanks!

Hello, I guess this mod and the miner mod, don't like each other:

Hiya, a friend and I just had the issue Ulrich mentioned - any word on whether we can have the max size increased? I doubt you'd need to set it higher than 25 or something. Issue seems to occur when a miner (added by the 'miner profession' mod) levels up and gets a backpack size increase - but the backpack size is already at maximum (10).

Thanks!
TacocaT  [author] 29 Oct, 2020 @ 10:02am
@Ulrich Humsk
I believe I can do that. I will upload a file shortly. (waiting on a new usb wifi). I don't have any mods that increase the size again so I have no reference as to how large to make the max. So I will make the max size....100?
Ulrich Humsk 22 Oct, 2020 @ 2:53am
Hello, I noticed a small issue with your mod.
Backpack size is allready at max, meaning other mods that add weareble backpacks, or classes as the miner.
This brings backpack size over the maximum.
Is it possible to make the max backpack size larger as well.?

Your most welcome. I was just annoyed that I had to restart the game for me to enjoy this mod, then I thought I will embark, that's a new game right? well, that turned out wrong and all the people from my old town still carried 3 while the new ones carried 10. Then I though about why new ones do carry 10 and the old ones don't. So I said F*k it and I tried changing their class and poof, like magic they carried 10.

Seems silly to not post my findings to everyone that tries to enjoy this mod and it's developer. :lunar2019grinningpig:

Thank you so much for tracking down a workaround! In theory it sounds easy enough to "reload" Hearthlings jobs when loading a save. I will see if I can figure it out. In the mean time, you are the hero!
Thanks again!
[ATS] Theaq 15 Oct, 2020 @ 5:46pm
@Devonax - thanks bro!
Devonax 15 Oct, 2020 @ 11:26am
@TacocaT

I did more testing and I found a way around the problem (until you maybe find a fix for it) that anybody can do:

if you have a game going and install this mod then you notice that they still carry 3 items, these can be workers or crafters. To fix this make all your crafters into workers (don't worry they retain their level in their craft) then change them back to their craft. they will now carry more items. You can do the same with workers, just change them to something, like a footman or something and change them back to crafters and they too will now carry more.

it seems that their "worker code" needs to be re-assigned in an ongoing game. this fixed it for me.
TacocaT  [author] 15 Oct, 2020 @ 9:11am
@Devonax
I have just come to the same conclusion. If you start the game without Backpacks enabled, save, enable, and load that game the CURRENT Hearthlings will only carry the original amount. However, any new Hearthlings will carry 10 items. I do not know that there IS a solution to that, those Hearthlings were created with a different set of rules(?)
I have never encountered that exact scenario, so I thank you for bringing it to my attention. I will edit my post, amend a previous comment where I said it would work on a save, and continue looking for a solution or workaround.
Devonax 15 Oct, 2020 @ 9:08am
this got me thinking, does stonehearth have a load order?
because before I had your mod then ace.
then deleted you mod because it didn't work.
now I installed it again with ace still installed and with a new game it works, with an old save it doesn't..
Devonax 15 Oct, 2020 @ 9:06am
So in order to help out a bit I did some testing and it turns out that your mod does not work on ongoing saves. I have tried 3 scenarios and it became clear to me that activating your mod on a save will keep the hearthlings carrying 3 items.

I then (after a few other tests) tried to start a new game with your mod and ACE and low and behold, they started carrying more stuff.

Now I don't know if there is still a problem somewhere about activating this with active save, but for now it seems that a warning is needed that this mod only works with a new game.
TacocaT  [author] 15 Oct, 2020 @ 7:50am
@Devonax
This is odd. I have disabled every mod except ACE and the workshop version of backpacks. Here is a screenshot of a new game with only those mods. (ok i couldn't attach a screenshot to this response, so I added it to the screenshots in the description) It is the 4th picture and shows Ursella Framer carrying 9 things in her pack and a basket of berries in her hand. When I tried to spawn a restocker golem the game crashed and I haven't got around to trying the ACE workers backpacks and such. Just saw your reply and wanted to let you know I'm working the problem now! Thanks again!
Devonax 15 Oct, 2020 @ 7:33am
Just to clarify a bit:
without your mod and without ACE the workers can carry 3 things.
without your mod but with ACE they can still carry 3 things.
with your mod and with ACE they still carry 3 things.
I have not tried your mod without ACE because that would ruin my save.

With both mods ON, I do not get any errors so I can not help you find the problem.
Hope you can fix it because with a forest cut down and my workers only taking 3 items it takes forever from them to clear it all.
TacocaT  [author] 15 Oct, 2020 @ 7:01am
@Devonax
I must be using a different version on my pc. Thanks for letting me know! I will look into it today!
Devonax 15 Oct, 2020 @ 4:12am
Yeah having this with ACE makes this mod useless because it doesn't work. Please TacocaT could you look into this and make it work with ACE, it's kinda the most used and needed mod for stonehearth and it would be awesome if these kind of handy mods would work well together.
Yeazzal 7 Jul, 2020 @ 4:20pm
Awesome!
[ATS] Theaq 5 Jan, 2020 @ 12:46pm
Oh, it conflicts with something in ACE. Doesn't break ACE, but having ACE installed makes this totally non-functional.
[ATS] Theaq 5 Jan, 2020 @ 12:35pm
They're only picking up 3 and holding 1 for me still.
Mimzie 7 Sep, 2019 @ 12:01am
this work with the current ACE version?
GOTzMADsKILLz 29 Apr, 2019 @ 10:04am
NICE!
TacocaT  [author] 28 Feb, 2019 @ 6:57am
It should not break a save. It only changes the max size of the backpack.
Kinderwagendietrepperuntertreter 27 Feb, 2019 @ 5:32pm
is a loaded game in any way affected?
(*˘︶˘*).。.:*♡ 26 Dec, 2018 @ 10:23am
Why do they throw things everywhere? I mean when they have something else on them and then go to pick up a lot of other things.
(*˘︶˘*).。.:*♡ 26 Dec, 2018 @ 10:23am
为什么他们到处丢东西?我是指他们身上有别的东西,然后再去捡其他的大批量物品的时候。
MrBlazzar™ 19 Dec, 2018 @ 10:00am
Thanks a lot for getting them working.
TacocaT  [author] 19 Dec, 2018 @ 9:43am
@MrBlazzar...
Yes my mod broke the SuperX mod because of irresponsible coding :steamfacepalm: . I have rewritten the mod to only contain the necessary code and tested it to make sure it no longer conflicts. Thank you so much for pointing it out so I could have the opportunity to fix it!
MrBlazzar™ 18 Dec, 2018 @ 11:18am
Any reason why this mod would break a mod like this one: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1475060125 ? With this enabled that mod no longer sets the daily spawned boys to the mods stat values.

I assume it has something to do with how this mod changes the backpack size.
Seth 15 Dec, 2018 @ 2:01pm
Should do but I'll check thanks
TacocaT  [author] 15 Dec, 2018 @ 8:23am
I just tried it out in MP and they are all picking up 9-10 items... Do both of you have the mod enabled?
Seth 14 Dec, 2018 @ 7:35pm
Does this mod work in multiplayer? I've got it turned on and im in a world with my friend, but the backpack is always blank and they dont seem to get more than 1 item at a time
Just a can of Dr. Pepper 14 Dec, 2018 @ 2:20pm
Even with this mod I stll got over 1000 items on the floor >:
TacocaT  [author] 14 Dec, 2018 @ 7:29am
@WesFerr
Yes it is.

@420 - 306er
I am not having that issue any more than the original game. All this mod does is increase the number of items a backpack can hold. It does not instruct the AI to act any different way.
WesFerr 13 Dec, 2018 @ 5:48pm
adepted to 1.1 version?
420 - 306er 11 Dec, 2018 @ 11:44pm
Issue i find is the AI leaves to much items behind. Original pickup works better. I have so many items all over the ground from my villagers, they seem to pick up nearly 10. go to storage drop 2~4 and then drop the rest outside or off the storage. or they simply lets say pick up 10 items, switch to picking berries and drop all items on the ground.
456 11 Dec, 2018 @ 2:28pm
cool
TacocaT  [author] 9 Dec, 2018 @ 5:03am
I have not applied it to golems specifically. I'll look at it today!
Wista 8 Dec, 2018 @ 11:41am
Will this also apply to golems? Thank you for this! My games always get so messy with stuff laying all over the ground uncollected :D
cracotte01 8 Dec, 2018 @ 10:49am
@Wardino
I think so!
@TacocaT
Thanks you
Wardino 8 Dec, 2018 @ 6:43am
Wow really cool mod, nice and simple but very useful. I've always had the idea of having a class that is almost a dedicated hauler, pushing a little cart around able to carry many items quickly... fancy coding it? :steamhappy: Thanks anyway!
