[WOTC] Vanilla Cannon Animations For TLP Cannons

Couldn't for the life of me figure out what's wrong but i got a workaround. Removed this mod and the spinnign barrel mod, isntalled the TLE weapons with attachmets mods and used WSR to swap the vanilla TLE cannons for those. Now that I think about it, the weaposn that used the TLE weapon models in my previous campaign also used those.

So i got soemthign strange. This worked fine in my previosu campaign (LWOTC + Modjam) But in my current one that does nto have those 2 the extra handles and grips don't show up on the mdoesl and so the soldeir attempts to use the valilla animations but then switches to the rifle stance. Apart from the spinnign barrels for the mag cannon I don't think I have anythign else that should mess with the animations or models. And if it were that it woudl only affect the Mag cannon but both are missing those bits on the models.

Has anyone encoured this? The WSR configs look ok and i even redownlaoded the mod to make sure. Even removed my custom WSR configs to replace some raider faction weaposn with TLE canons and deleted and recreated the games configs. Still nothing.

Can you create a mod in reverse? Give standard Cannons the TLP "rifle style" firing pose?

@The Idiot No, Cannon Redux affects only vanilla cannons, this one to affects the TLP-added ones.

it looks to me like picking up the conventional/mag/plasma redux versions of your TLP mod, would do what i want it to, while also replacing the need for three tiered weapon mod altogether? I'll try it out in a few days in a fresh save, when i inevitably die horribly in the legendary run im doing rn lol

Yeah, The non compatilbility with 3 tier was that it wouldnt show up on the other tiered weapons, but not breaking the mod you're correct, but thats sorta what im looking for. I'll take a look and see if i can find the TLP mag mod you speak of tho!

@_b1ack0ut Been a while since I've touched this mod lol. So, I never fixed it, mostly because I lost the drive that I used to mod shortly afterwards and most of my older mods with it. I should have some backups but I never actually bothered to check. The "not compatible with three tier" thing I remember being not about actual compatibility, but the fact that this mod wouldn't affect those cannons. Lastly, if you wish for a similar effect, I suggest you use my TLP Mag mod with visual attachments; just use WSR to hide and swap the weapons at your liking. Animations are better, stock is animated too, and reload animations are complete. As it is, this mod is kind of abandoned at the moment.

Also, I seem to recall that one of your previous mods that was based on this same concept, was NOT compatible with three tiered cosmetics and such, and I'm just wondering if that has changed at all?

Ah, well thank you for answering. I hope it can be fixed but if not, it's hardly a major issue since the default animation bothers me way more than the loss of that sound.

@binkyberkwitz it's an animation issue I haven't been able to fix. If I can find the mod files again, I'll look into it, but that's not likely since I changed PC and consequently all of my hard disks.

I get a weird issue with this mod that I've noticed with the plasma TLP cannon. It uses the vanilla animation as advertised, but the sound effect is bugged—that mechanical 'charging up' sound effect that the gun makes right before it fires? For some reason, it doesn't play. The actual gunfire sound works fine, but the cannon's charge-up sound doesn't. I haven't modified the .ini files at all.

@Tilting Cat this version uses the vanilla animation, the abandoned version uses the Cannon Redux Animations but has some bugs that are listed in the mod description. Which to use depends on what you want.

so on the abandoned mod it said to use this one but for a working one it linked to the abandoned one(since i use cannon redux) if i use the cannon redux do i use this or the abandoned one?

@OverEnglishMan bit late to the mix, but you can simply download and activate WSR and then forget about it. Without the proper configuration, it'll only be useful to this mod and not do anything else.

You don't have to configure and take advantage of WSR's other features it you don't want to, just because it's enabled

Ah, might just have to stick with wonky anims then. I like having a hilariously overfilled weapon stock because I can swap on the fly instead of pissing about with code names in inis and trying to remember things. (My intellect was not moditifed). Thanks for replying!

@OverEnglishMan Iridar's WSR is used to add the foreground and reagrip to the weapons in method 1, and to add foregrip/reagrip to the weapons AND substitute the vanilla Cannon models with the TLP ones in method 2. No matter the method, you always have to use WSR otherwise your soldier will hold the air while shooting. Hope that helps.

Question: "DO NOT SKIP THE REQUIRED ITEMS, THEY ARE NECESSARY" - does that mean Iridar's replacer is necessary even if we only use method 1?
