Basically you want wheels on either side of a rail basically "hugging" the rail segment so that they can get traction. It can take some trial and error and a lot of small adjustments. Think of it like designing a mono rail train only vertical, and do that to balance each side of the car

Oh I see my error I was thinking for the mk.I version, I never made separate blueprints for this version. Haven't touched SE for more than a couple minutes in years

I have it available as separate blueprints for the terminals and the tether segments, assuming it still works like it used to I suppose it could be made extremely long

Assuming that it is working correctly it goes over 10km up to the space terminal.

It said "vanilla" but i needed to download mods to play it. I don't think you know what vanilla means.

Yup. Controls are the same, I followed it all and it doesnt move. The wheels move but the thing doesnt. I checked its a seperate grid. Funny though, if I use atmo thrusters to move it up it eventually stops going up and I cannot use the thrusters, and so the thrusters keep turning on/off automatically to keep it within the same 100meters and i cant use them, same thing occurs to new blocks. No, I did not add in any mods either.

It's 4 years old I'd be surprised if it didn't have issues after all... what, two updates Keen's done in that time? Are the merge blocks off?

I made the elevator fall apart on purpose and it left a spectacular scene when it finished falling down.

Not sure what there is to update, I did a video call with a guy a month or so ago where he made it run just fine. I haven't loaded up the game in a while I'll see what needs doing: you need to dock VERY slowly in SE though

I converted it to a ship and disabled the merge block but the stupid elevator still wont move from the station

I have seen this happen before, and I also seem to see it happen 300m or so before the orbital terminal. I really don't know why it does it, I'd say just try to mind your speed, maybe? I need to update this to automatically move itself.

Hey, whenever i get about 1.1km away from the station the pole the wheels rub against completely destroys itself and the elevator pulley system, is there a reason or way to fix this?

It seems that's an issue that has persisted, what you have to do once the merge blocks are turned off and departing from the orbital terminal is that you have to convert to car from station to ship.

Awesome elevator worked great going up, after i dock to the orbital station when I unlock from it to go back down to ground I cant move the carrage at all ive tried everything to the point of re building almost the whole thing. Any ideas what the problem could be?

I think with the original anchor you had to convert the cart to ship once it is cut free. The wheels on the old model, however, were merely to guide the cart along the rails, with the H2 thrusters being the actual propulsion.

Also, this is a world file. I've not made blueprints components yet, may not do so.

I had built the origional anchor you designed, before finding out the wheels wont go up no matter what settings I tried. is this a working platform that can overlap the anchor component to create a new one in its place?
Also so far I cant seem to get this to add into workshop blueprints, have removed the old component, reloaded prints, exited the game x3. hopefully its just delayed?

Is there a recomended speed for the cart? I was playing around with this and every time I reload the world something different happens or I should say breaks. This last time one of the cargo containers was destroyed on the way up.

would you say the next update should include improvements to the Terminal panel select Control Panel

In the Terminal panel Control Panel you have names that you select and on the right of that are controls

would it be better to change it to buttons like for example

Instead Of Oxygen Generator its O2 Generator would an oxygen tank as a background image and that would be a square button and not a rectangle button

Sometimes if all you see are buttons with lables on them you might not be able to figure out what they are because the author did not label them properly

The SAT would stop and dock and it would take this amout of time

Arrival: 12:00
Docking Time: 30 minutes
Departure: 12:30

it would also take 1 minute to attach itself to the tether of the space elevator

if you had a satalite that goes from planet to planet you could attach a docking system to it to the space elevator

Probably but a) I don't have the time to devote to that, b) it'd be pretty performance heavy, c) don't know how I'd do a "switch" area at the elevator intersections.

would it be posible to make a map with like 10 planets and have all 10 planets connected by a space elevator so you don't need a ship to travel to them.
