you would probably want to make them equip a unike fighter wing to stop the from carrying modded superpowered fighters
And yeah not all shipsets play well with mods that add new ship classes, for example the Macross mod ship classes and Gundam ships don't get along.
It's interesting that it is working for one shipset and not the other... hmmmmmmm.
The idea of the patroller is to have something that you can build very quickly early game to just dissuade pirates from spamming your systems. I envision you deploying them in a system to slow down portential attackers, not necessary stopping them. That is definitely what the corvettes as for. Unfortunately in the early game you have virtually no real ship options, every costs the same and takes 2 months to build regardless of fitting.
I love the general concept, but I don't feel the incentive to use the patrol ship over corvettes. It doesn't look cost efficient for me - how do you guys utilize it and in what situations do you find it more useful than just relying on corvettes?
Are you implying the ship is not appearing as intended ingame? Or that it is only showing when in use with the vanilla shipsets?
If it is the latter then that is correct as ship classes needs species specific graphic assets in order to show. Since I do not have access to said assets I can not code or include them outside of the vanilla ones.
The mod however as far as I am aware does allow shipset modders to access the new class to make a graphic assets for, therefore it can be used in conjuction with other shipsets, which would have to be produced by other modders.
I was waiting for NSC to be release before I tried to work on inbuilt support for it. I'll have a look at that this evening.
I am working on a number of other mods to improve different aspects of the game, keep an eye out on my various mod pages to see links to my future work as they are released.
