The problem with this is how much it turns the meta into a "spam megastructures" thing. The AI in particular I've found on my last three playthroughs would build 3 or 4 science nexuses each lmao.

Thanks for this, I forgot to set the megastructure build limit in giga to more than 1 on the current game, or something fluffed up with all the mods I've got. And so I'm currently taking 12 years to build a dyson sphere ;-;

So with this mod you can have unlimited megastructures per system? Does that also remove the can have only 1 dyson sphere kind of limit?

Personally- Gigastructural Engineering is fine for me, no lag and every option under the sun to disable everything, honestly its pop counts that cause lag. But to each their own.

I'm pretty sure gigastructural engineering has a menu to change all that this mod does (though its structure specific, even for vanilla megastructures)

It might be? It won't affect the gigastructures that is for sure, but it depends on whether the gigastructures mod also touches the vanilla megastructure files at all to see if anything breaks.

I tried using the mod to see if it worked without an update; almost everything works, but there's an issue wit Ring Worlds and Dyson Spheres: no matter where I try to place them, even where there are no planets at all, it says they can't be placed where there are habitable worlds.

This is the only mod I'm using right now.

Should be updated and working for 2.8 now, gotta be honest I completely slept on the new game version. Let me know if anything seems borked. :)

Just to clarify this again, this mod will not make gigastructures or any other custom megastructures limitless, as it is a direct modification of the megastructure files. I do not have access to the files of other creator's structures (duh) and therefore cannot include them in here.
If you want a specific custom structure to come with limitless building options you'll want to contact its author for a limitless version. ^-^

@Ausar-9029 In 00_ring_world.txt are the following lines:
on_build_complete = {
every_system_planet = {
limit = { is_star = no }
remove_planet = yes
}
When the "yes" is turned into a "no", then it should stop removing the planets on frame completion. Be warned however, because i think the ringworld wil start clipping with any planets or asteroid belts that have the same radius from the sun.

That's what happens with ring worlds, regardless of this mod. ^^ It's a vanilla mechanic that removes all planetary bodies from a system once the ring world frame has been completed around its star.

Apparently when I build a Ringworld in a system that has habitable planets, the planets (and asteroid belt) disappear entirely.

It used to be rebalancing more structures. When megacorp came out, PDX nerfed the output of dyson spheres and the science nexus, and the matter decompressor output was also very low when it released. This mod reverted these changes, however PDX ended up modifying it in a patch later, too. Basically yes, now this mod is in fact only one that allows for the construction of unlimited structures, and slightly boosts the Science Nexus.

Judging from the compatibility statement on their page, it should work together, however please note that this mod only lifts limitations from the vanilla megastructures. If the gigastructures mod had limitations on how many structures can be built, or where, these will not be lifted by this mod.

I wasn't able to replicate your issues, so I don't think it's caused by this mod. The normal "restrictions" to megastructures still apply though, i.e. Matter Decompressors can only be built in black hole systems, just in case that was something which might've caused problems for you.

So, I think I've found a strange issue with this. This is the only megastructure related mod I had. I could construct any number of megastructures in my system, except it would not let me build a Sentry Array at all unless I hadn't already built something in the system. In addition, the option for the Matter Decompressor just isn't showing up for some reason. And I checked, I've researched it

Don't know if it's this mod, or the game, or what, but might be something to look into
