Overall, still a very good mod that I don't want to play without. Load it as early as possible in your modlist. Mine is 7th out of almost 500 mods, only below Harmony, Core, SRTS Expanded, Hugslib, Toolbox, and another mod which is outdated and needs careful load order to work right, Slow Starvation.
looking forward to your next iteration of this mod. Thanks for not abandoning it!
When you do get around to working on this, be aware that it's modifying the "bear base" to be a pack animal, which results in pink squares on "packed" black bears from Vanilla Animals Expanded - Boreal Forest, for example, because the VE team didn't provide a "packed" texture for their non-pack bear.
There could be other issues of a similar sort from this mod if it's allowed to affect non-vanilla animals via the categorizations.
Also, I've discovered a couple oddities like the existence of Gila Monsters unfertilized eggs, which can't really exist, since the Gila Monster will pause progress at 50% until fertilization.
Nothing is terribly game-breaking yet, and I'm unwilling to remove this mod because it *does* provide some things I believe are critical like Ibex Wool, for example (boy does it grow slow, though!), but this mod could use a solid clean-up.
@Viper; Animals do this when they have no access to food and are "inside" or surrounded by walls. Guests will also do this. It is a survival behavior. I probably won't toggle this.
@Rzabat; The animals do this when there is no prey within their hunting radius. Either that or your save is probably bugged.
I have been searching for a mod that disables the vanilla animal mechanic where they will mine through almost anything to get to food if they are trapped without food (or trapped when they want to leave the map for whatever reason).
It doesn't seem to exist.
I'm playing with Configurable Maps and using the extreme mountains setting, which creates really cool and fun-to-play maps waiting to be revealed, but the animals ruin it constantly by mining through everything to get to food.
Is this something you could address? A toggle, perhaps? And if so, would it negatively impact the modded Groundrunner animal (from Vanilla Expanded, I think), which has mining as a feature?
A few other minor edits were made that mod users likely won't notice, otherwise nothing else is changed from the user experience. File names have no impact on the game, just for organization.
I have more planned, but it's working for now.

BTW: If you do get around to making an update, having patches for the Vanilla Animals Expanded series would be appreciated... and not just by me. Those mods seem rather popular.
