"Anti-American".. lmao :majinbuu:

Stopped using Discord like a year ago because they're anti-American as you've exampled. Am using Guilded now. Seems more than acceptable.

Ripperoni in pizzas. I'll think about revisiting this in the future, but with the new animal values I'll have to go over all the numbers again. Also going to focus on a couple other mods first. But it's not off the plan, just no ETA

RIP my Ibex wool

I am gonna miss this mod. Maybe it's still being worked on, or rather the updated module is, but it has really been a long time now. I'll still hold a shred of hope, best wishes!
PoofyGummy 25 Jul, 2021 @ 5:38pm
Soooo how about 1.3?
Viper 19 Jan, 2021 @ 2:27pm
To anyone wondering, yes this mod works still as of the date of this comment. There are a minor few quirks here and there and I highly recommend Vanilla Fan Made Expanded - Caravan Packs which will solve the worst problems (this mod makes some animal *categories* packable but doesn't obviously provide the needed sprite for modded animals in those categories, so you get pink [X]. VFME-CP fills that gap).

Overall, still a very good mod that I don't want to play without. Load it as early as possible in your modlist. Mine is 7th out of almost 500 mods, only below Harmony, Core, SRTS Expanded, Hugslib, Toolbox, and another mod which is outdated and needs careful load order to work right, Slow Starvation.

@ Dr Zhivago

looking forward to your next iteration of this mod. Thanks for not abandoning it!
g3 24 Oct, 2020 @ 1:06pm
does this work in 1.2
PoofyGummy 22 Oct, 2020 @ 9:20pm
I second the motion for a bit of a cleanup! I love this mod.
Viper 5 Oct, 2020 @ 9:24am
@ Dr Zhivago

When you do get around to working on this, be aware that it's modifying the "bear base" to be a pack animal, which results in pink squares on "packed" black bears from Vanilla Animals Expanded - Boreal Forest, for example, because the VE team didn't provide a "packed" texture for their non-pack bear.

There could be other issues of a similar sort from this mod if it's allowed to affect non-vanilla animals via the categorizations.

Also, I've discovered a couple oddities like the existence of Gila Monsters unfertilized eggs, which can't really exist, since the Gila Monster will pause progress at 50% until fertilization.

Nothing is terribly game-breaking yet, and I'm unwilling to remove this mod because it *does* provide some things I believe are critical like Ibex Wool, for example (boy does it grow slow, though!), but this mod could use a solid clean-up.
Viper 28 Sep, 2020 @ 10:58pm
thanks. i literally just removed this from a multiplayer game suspecting desyncs, but when we then realized what we'd taken out of the game (so much!) we put it back in. if there's desyncs, we'll deal. gotta have this mod
Dr Zhivago  [author] 28 Sep, 2020 @ 10:26pm
It will go through an overhaul/balance pass/mod patching when I get to it, until then it probably works mostly alright
PoofyGummy 28 Sep, 2020 @ 7:28pm
Can you please update the tag? c:
Ironstar 10 Sep, 2020 @ 8:46am
Appears to be working in 1.2.
Kinetic Kimo 8 Sep, 2020 @ 6:14pm
Does any one know if this works in 1.2, or will be updated to 1.2? I'm interested to try this, a lot of these changes seem pretty cool. :)
g3 31 Aug, 2020 @ 6:37am
1.2?
Fassina 16 Aug, 2020 @ 5:43am

Does this effect animal sleep cycles?

@Dr_Zhivago btw tanks for the help on dicord (sgthanz)
Dr Zhivago  [author] 23 Apr, 2020 @ 9:38am
@SghHanzMullerSW; Thanks. I've done some work to it, but it's not solely my mod. I'll probably work on it some more once I finish updating some other of my mods.

@Viper; Animals do this when they have no access to food and are "inside" or surrounded by walls. Guests will also do this. It is a survival behavior. I probably won't toggle this.

@Rzabat; The animals do this when there is no prey within their hunting radius. Either that or your save is probably bugged.
SghHanzMullerSW 21 Apr, 2020 @ 10:54am
hey Zivago i dint know u made this mod thats why it works so good
Viper 20 Apr, 2020 @ 4:05pm
Hey DrZhivago, love the mod, been using it a very long time now. Thanks for updating.

I have been searching for a mod that disables the vanilla animal mechanic where they will mine through almost anything to get to food if they are trapped without food (or trapped when they want to leave the map for whatever reason).

It doesn't seem to exist.

I'm playing with Configurable Maps and using the extreme mountains setting, which creates really cool and fun-to-play maps waiting to be revealed, but the animals ruin it constantly by mining through everything to get to food.

Is this something you could address? A toggle, perhaps? And if so, would it negatively impact the modded Groundrunner animal (from Vanilla Expanded, I think), which has mining as a feature?
Rzabat 8 Apr, 2020 @ 4:33pm
Is there a way to get wild animals of the same species to not attack each other? Im seeing a lot of Coyotes being killed by other Coyotes despite there being plenty of prey animals present.
redbluyellowrose 27 Mar, 2020 @ 6:21am
Thank you for all your hard work! We appreciate it :)
Dr Zhivago  [author] 23 Mar, 2020 @ 7:07pm
I decided to edit out the Alpaca being milkable. If people miss it a lot, I can put it back in. I've just commented the feature out, so all it requires is to delete the "<!--". Felt that the production of milk from them was a bit too many features for the alpaca. I haven't had time to look into it further balance-wise as I've been busy.

A few other minor edits were made that mod users likely won't notice, otherwise nothing else is changed from the user experience. File names have no impact on the game, just for organization.
tanyfilina 23 Mar, 2020 @ 10:16am
Hello! I've recently got to 1.1, and I've found that at least some functions of the mod don't work. Specifically, changes to vanilla animals, like making Alpaca milkable. I've also found that corresponding files in mod have a dot "." before their names and the patches are commented. Why is it so? The old way of patching doesn't work now?
IceMaverick 17 Mar, 2020 @ 10:02pm
Thanks for the update
Ralathar44 16 Mar, 2020 @ 8:47pm
Yays, all of the love. Thank you, I know Tyrian has ideas for future animal balancing but right now many are just not worth using so your mod gives alot more animal variety :).
Dr Zhivago  [author] 16 Mar, 2020 @ 8:30pm
1.1

I have more planned, but it's working for now.
Minehermit 13 Mar, 2020 @ 11:16am
i would also love it if you could update this mod, it really is a necessity in my games.
Ralathar44 29 Feb, 2020 @ 8:29pm
I'm interested to know if you plan on updating this to 1.1 . IIRC the 1.1 patch and future patches are going to try and define animals into more narrow roles so this mod may actually end up being more valuable than ever for those of us that don't want to be forced into using the same animals all the time.
redbluyellowrose 25 Feb, 2020 @ 12:48pm
Are you planning to update to 1.1?
Rzabat 10 Feb, 2020 @ 2:18pm
Ah thanks
Dr Zhivago  [author] 10 Feb, 2020 @ 4:32am
Ah gotcha. I won't make another mod to lower the tame chance, as I think Vanilla tame chance is just fine. It is a quick edit you could make on your own however.

(path of Steam)...Steam\steamapps\common\RimWorld\Mods\Core\Defs\ThingDefs_Races\Races_Animal_Giant.xml

Find the "<defName>Thrumbo</defName>" and change the <wildness> level
Rzabat 9 Feb, 2020 @ 10:48pm
Oh, personally I like how Thrumbo extension lowers the Thrumbo's wilderness to make it easier to tame and train. I use Royal Thrumbos as the new Uber thrumbo.
Dr Zhivago  [author] 5 Feb, 2020 @ 12:48am
I think you misunderstood my question. You asked for a mod that is compatible with Thrumbo Extension. I am asking, why?
Rzabat 4 Feb, 2020 @ 10:42pm
I'd like the animals/dogs acting as predators, as well as being able to use many of them as pack animals. The animal part drops are also a real cool addition.
Dr Zhivago  [author] 4 Feb, 2020 @ 9:58pm
What are the features of that mod that you want?
Rzabat 4 Feb, 2020 @ 9:49pm
Could we get a version of this mod thats compatible with Thrumbo Extension (ie doesnt adjust Thrumbos)?
Thundercraft 30 Dec, 2019 @ 1:54am
@[author] Great mod! This is very much needed.

BTW: If you do get around to making an update, having patches for the Vanilla Animals Expanded series would be appreciated... and not just by me. Those mods seem rather popular.
Hugo 11 Dec, 2019 @ 7:05pm
That would be fantastic! All the best..
Dr Zhivago  [author] 11 Dec, 2019 @ 4:03pm
This only touches Vanilla animals... and eventually I'll get around to a rewrite of this mod.... but not just yet. Possibly include patches for the Vanilla Animals Expanded series
Hugo 11 Dec, 2019 @ 1:51am
I am looking for a mod that lets the new Vanilla animals expanded mod animals like Gorillas, Megawolverine ect be used as pack animals, does this mod allow that? If not and there is a mod that does could someone please point me in that mods directions...Big thanks in advance :)
Dr Zhivago  [author] 23 Sep, 2019 @ 11:10am
@LordShotGun; I'll look into it.
