update pls
Tom Cupboard  [author] 16 Apr, 2022 @ 4:34pm
Hi thanks for this :) I have been planning to get this back on my machine and updating it at some point in the near future. Will make sure to patch this in
tithin 16 Apr, 2022 @ 6:41am
I had some help in figuring out the problem, the definitions for the race is off

Go to <steam install location>\steamapps\workshop\content\281990\1593301672\common\species_archetypes and replace the contents of extsynths_archetypes.txt with

"
PRINTER = {
inherit_trait_points_from = MACHINE
inherit_traits_from = { MACHINE ROBOT }
robotic = yes
}"

This will allow your pops to assemble as they should.
tithin 15 Apr, 2022 @ 6:59am
Having an issue where - using the printer species as a machine - has no pop assembly growth at all.
AzCrazyDiamond 3 Aug, 2021 @ 8:31am
@Blastinburn would this cause all planet names to be from the "generic" list ("printer_"), and none from the climate-specific name lists? Is fixing it as simple as changing that flag to "yes"?
AzCrazyDiamond 4 Jun, 2021 @ 8:28am
Outstanding. One of the best mods ever. Currently locked in a war with this dang thing that is spreading like a plague. Love it!
Blastinburn 10 May, 2021 @ 6:16pm
Figured it out, bio-printers have use_climate_preference set to "no" so they don't get a habitability preference.
Blastinburn 10 May, 2021 @ 3:27pm
We're seeing an issue where bio printers have consistently spawned without a habitability preference, meaning every planet has 0% habitability.

This is occurring on 3.0, we have modded origins active (modjam2020 ones that have been updated) but this has occurred with both modded and vanilla origins.
Link3000XD 9 May, 2021 @ 8:42am
unfortunally.. the HP Deskjets perished in the war between the khan and the katzenartig empire... i was searching for remains.. but only the overly long names of their systems remained, RIP :imcry:
Sjru 🐲 3 May, 2021 @ 6:19pm
Is it updated?
Tom Cupboard  [author] 26 Apr, 2021 @ 3:45pm
@Kurdik Salim Thats awesome! I wondered what the sudden surge could be!! :D
Kurdik Salim 24 Apr, 2021 @ 6:37am

WOW This really is a HP DeskJet 2630 Wireless All-in-One Printer moment
Tom Cupboard  [author] 28 Jan, 2021 @ 12:16pm
@Blanc I haven't played Stellaris in a while. Does it no longer work with the latest version? I would suggest trying it anyway even if it says it won't work
Blanc - CPU White Heart 27 Jan, 2021 @ 4:08pm
This mod is hilarious and I've been wanting to use it for a while, are you still updating it?
Colonizor48 26 Jul, 2020 @ 8:36pm
Why is this not an vanila? It really should be.
RuralTowner 10 May, 2020 @ 9:32pm
Why not as the FIRST PROTOTYPE 3D PRINTER?
Sir Velociraptor 18 Apr, 2020 @ 3:56pm
What? No HP LaserJet 4? They're much more hardy.
Jackal 10 Apr, 2020 @ 4:03pm
oh my god thank you so much!
brak97 2 Mar, 2020 @ 10:04am
This is freaking hilarious.
Tom Cupboard  [author] 15 Feb, 2020 @ 7:06am
@TurtleShroom I checked, the preset civilization does not use the Sol System, I think your issue might be with another mod installed :)
TurtleShroom 9 Feb, 2020 @ 10:56am
That explains so much, because I haven't seen human empires properly spawn in ages. The Printers have a guaranteed spawn. The pre-scripted species should not use the Solar System. That's a terrible idea because it overrides every other use of it. I haven't seen humans in many games because of this.

I suggest that you keep the Printers set to ALWAYS, but give them a random system.

Or, even better, MAKE YOUR OWN!
Tom Cupboard  [author] 9 Feb, 2020 @ 7:42am
@TurtleShroom I believe the pre scripted species uses the Sol System (Unless I changed it?), You can edit this and turn it off :)
Nihilhem 29 Nov, 2019 @ 8:44am
This is quite IMPRESSing.
TurtleShroom 18 Sep, 2019 @ 2:48pm
This Mod is amazing. I've seen these printers purge between nearly one quarter and one fifth of a one thousand five hundred star galaxy, and I didn't let it happen or do anything to change it. The freaking printers got so big and greedy in its expansion that a conga line of Fallen Empires declared war and bashed it into the ground.

I've seen the Mod create a rare instance where two Printer nations showed up. One was the pre-scripted one I know and love and the other had no name. Also, do the Printers use a special star system? I'm curious because I've run into issues with the Solar System recently.
Raxacoricofallapatorius 2 Sep, 2019 @ 6:06pm
This little monster purged half the galaxy. I kinda let it tho.
Kevin McScrooge 24 Jul, 2019 @ 11:31am
NOTICE: Thanks famdog
TurtleShroom 24 Jul, 2019 @ 10:58am
NOTICE: This Mod works perfectly with V2.3 .
zdowgg 15 Jun, 2019 @ 5:19am
can we use this with iron man mode and does it make the cheack sum i would like to be able to use it on multiplayer
Tom Cupboard  [author] 14 Jun, 2019 @ 5:25pm
I will be adding an update soon, although im pretty confident the mod still works on the newest version as they didn't change the way species were implemented
Kevin McScrooge 14 Jun, 2019 @ 5:05pm
This is perfect.
ITSARLOOL 14 Jun, 2019 @ 3:24pm
There needs to be a paperclip version of this
El_CAPITAN 14 Jun, 2019 @ 11:59am
Best idea ever, I'm waiting for the update to play this mod in the newest version of Stellaris
Esprit de Corps 30 Apr, 2019 @ 2:00am

Cheese 13 Apr, 2019 @ 11:17am
This is the ultimate mod for Stellaris! It´s a must have!

KiwiNuken 17 Mar, 2019 @ 11:31am
This is, of course, magnificent, but I feel we need more references to overpriced ink.
Tom Cupboard  [author] 20 Jan, 2019 @ 11:52am
@TurtleShroom I like that suggestion :)
TurtleShroom 20 Jan, 2019 @ 10:47am
I would suggest that you add Apsec's video and the PC Gaming Magazine link to your Mod gallery and Mod description, respectively.
Tom Cupboard  [author] 20 Jan, 2019 @ 7:06am
thank you ASpec <3 him going through the printer names was hilarious. I think the lack of it working is because of the other mods, hp deskjet 2630 are 100% reliable
TurtleShroom 19 Jan, 2019 @ 2:25pm
Apsec, the premiere and only lay authority on "Stellaris", reviewed your Mod, OP!

Thank you for bringing the hatred I have all day as an IT tech home so I can share it with the galaxy!
Trailerguy 16 Jan, 2019 @ 5:01pm
yeS I NEEDED THIS
Tom Cupboard  [author] 15 Jan, 2019 @ 2:00pm
i knew the printer fandom would catch up with me
Scheming Weasel 15 Jan, 2019 @ 11:34am
The Image of the printer is not right.
The printer shown is actually an "HP PageWide Pro 477dw Wireless Multifunction Colour Printer"

Thanks for the Mod! :smily:
Tom Cupboard  [author] 6 Jan, 2019 @ 10:34am
Also try using the Bio_Printer instead and tell me if the same glitch happens
Tom Cupboard  [author] 6 Jan, 2019 @ 10:33am
@Dr. Krieger check you have the synthetic dlc required to play as the custom race, other than that it might be one of the glitches with 2.2 they're yet to fix for custom machine races ;(

If its unable to be fixed all i can say is let the AI play as them, its a fun compromise running into a fanatic purifying printer race ;) think of it as a early game crisis!
Dr. Krieger 5 Jan, 2019 @ 6:38am
A nice and funny mod, but when we play as printers in our multiplayer we have a hability of 0% on every planet :( Even on our homeoworld :(
is there any possible way to fix this ?
