So glad for this, I added the animal backpacks mod and now I'm screwed if I import because it'll get rid of of my massive prison.

Sorry for my english
Is it possible? probably yes, however I have no intention of getting back into kenshi modding nor do I remember how to, so if you want any compatibility patch done you may have to figure it out yourself.
Guess it's time for some field tests...
Thanks again for your work.
Take care!
I'm not entirely sure about the feeding without backpacks issue.
I remember seeing them eat out of food storage but I would not trust my memory at this point, so yeah.
As for why TameBeasties is more popular I guess because it came first and is straight to the point. Capture and tame.
Does it run as smooth the former?
Thanks for the quick reply, Petrus!
True... I got that statement wrong I guess...
Anyway, Kenshi is, in fact, a pretty hostile place... Even for modders... So no worries about the development.
Thank you for your hard work. It really makes the game far more enjoyable.
Btw, how is the animal starvation prevented without the backpacks? (I prefer this "no backpack version" still... Doesn't clutter the Barman's inventory...)
The mod is as done as it's ever going to get. At least from my end.
Development hit a wall once I realised planned features would be impossible to implement with the modding tools that were available.
I have no plans to continue development on any Kenshi mods in the foreseeable future.
Is this mod still work in progress, as stated in the description?
Not at all, go ahead
Thanks for everything so far!
BUT i have not been able to get any dialogue out of it, to try and tame it as per the mod insutions, it been like a week of feeding and healing it, seems to get randomly hurt in its cage maybe trying to get out? dunno just kinda stand there 24/7 nm what it is doing.
So can i ask is the alpha gorillo tamable at all? or am i wasting my time, i need a game import, but if i do until the gorillo is part of my squad, i lose it.
But yes you are correct if you pick up the beastie or just hold it, their hunger cheats up to max. but when you "take ownership" of it the hunger meter starts dropping like a stone. And place it in a cage or bed.
Corpses give nothing to hunger but I believe it will eat from backpacks like any other animal, If it's not doing that then you could try saving and loading, that usually fixes things.
I have a list on the nexus: https://www.nexusmods.com/kenshi/mods/157?tab=posts&BH=0
As for starving, I believe you can pick them up and walk a little and their hunger will fill magically.
And the dialogue is all a single pack so a cooldown affects all, removing the cooldown would result in easy nonstop taming and that's not very immersive.
If you want easy taming you could always switch to my other mod TameBeasties. :)
Allso is there a reason i can only feed 1 at a time instead of 1 by 1?(example got 3 cages if i try on 1 it wont allow me on the other 2)
Should work with Diverse Fauna from what I've been told.
