It does more damage in my game for some reason.

Yea, Brimstone traps are one of my go to traps fully upgraded. They do great damage, DoT, have a minor slow effect, are instant, kill sappers, and are a good money pit for later in the matches when your defensive lines are loaded up. However, no problems here.

least used traps in the game? Well, I just started playing a few days ago and maybe it's different at nightmare or endless modes, but on warmage mode I just 5skulled the crunch almost exclusively with the standard ingame sulfur trap with no effort...

quicker reset, quicker regen, just a little less damage and cheaper than brimstone, seeing as it's supposed to be used for control as opposed to damage, this is definitely the smarter choice of the two, great modding as always Nananea :)

I also like the original because i succesfully use it on first few levels of endless to score free killing streaks (20+ at times) earning me quite a bit of points aswell as protecting me from kobolds and keeping my lives safe. I've often finished levels on nightmare relying only on decked out brimstone, lifesteal weapon and crossbow for big creeps.
One of my most used traps along with tar.
For it's price it's extremely effective. The most important thing about it is the actual space it occupies to efficiency which is extremely high specially if you're not using extra mob spawns mods because streaks are rarer or harder to obtain with a small amount of other traps.

nice Mod but need to say the unmodded trap is better:) but nice idea

a chokepoint with a grinder wil ltake out runners more effectively than brimstone usually; the recharge time for brimstone when it does go down is so long as to make it a non-factor.

I found vanilla brimstones to be EXTREMELY effective late game. theyre some of the best ways to pick up that 5 skull rating, larger traps deal with hordes, but you NEED brimstone to take down the runners effectively

I like how you tried to balance the brimstone, But I found this to be way overpowered and the game was not challenging anymore. Thanks for trying though

We just have differing opinions about original Brimstone then. Feel free not to use this mod :P

Vanilla Brimstones are better

The original brimstone is better as already said. The 2 points of this mod is to take kobolds down more effecient, but this adds imbalance to the game. Price reduction looks fair, if it would be vanilla brimstone. But nice to see something else then common traps

I'm shocked to hear people aren't using Brimstone traps considering they're the best way to deal with sappers and a great way to deal with trolls.

i also would say that i use brimstone instead of tar floors... i find normal brimstone to be very powerful just not against fire ogres and HUGE ammoutns of enemies.
GakFace 16 Jul, 2013 @ 9:23am
To be fair, I play the majority of my game on co-op. Brimstone might not get the same mileage solo. But I don't know, it's pretty funny putting decoys on top of them.
Nananea  [author] 16 Jul, 2013 @ 8:35am
Maybe we haven't been using the same Brimstone.
GakFace 16 Jul, 2013 @ 8:08am
Nah, I disagree. Brimstone is very useful. wave 35+ on endless and it gets weak... taking hellstone that REDUCES the damage and it just makes it worse. Brimstone is a kobold's worst enemy, max it out and carry a trap reset trinket and you're golden.
HaskoDood 13 Jul, 2013 @ 7:55pm
not used? these are some of my favorite traps !!!!!!!
Foxpenguin 13 Jul, 2013 @ 4:32pm
If you upgrade it all the way it's actually really good it can take down sappers instantly and does crap loads of damage to trolls
Nananea  [author] 13 Jul, 2013 @ 2:38pm
Well, sorry but if you're using Brimstone then you're wasting your money. Hellstone, on the other hand, is a smart and balanced choice.
Foxpenguin 13 Jul, 2013 @ 12:04pm
Least used? I use em all the time
NorseScorpio 12 Jul, 2013 @ 10:24am
I use brimstone all the way through orcs must die 2. I'm surprised to hear that they aren't often used.

Finally a viable way of dealing with sappers without grinders.
