Not sure, I've never tried it without G&K.....worth a shot. It wouldn't screw anything up with your game, it just wouldn't play correctly while the mod is enabled if it doesn't work.

Quick question: is Gods and Kings a hard requirement? I have BNW and would to play this but i don't have G&K.

Not bad (pretty good), good for either wrecking some other civs or city-states.

If I might make one small suggestion... I noticed that one of your screenshots shows a "Pirate Pirate Captain", which sounds kind of silly, so after I downloaded the mod I did a search-and-replace to change PIRATE_CAPTAIN to DREAD_CAPTAIN. (Hopefully I didn't break anything in the process.) Anyway, I thought you might consider making that an official change.

Just curious, did you ever edit the apperance of the Flying Dutchman to actually look like the Flying Dutchman? Would be really awesome if you could do that if you haven't already.

First time adding a mod Civ.
Im not sure whether its me or not, but the civ doesnt seem to be appearing for me.
Where should it show up? im checking the Set Up Game civ list.

I know this converation is more or less over, but i have to agree with you in putting Black Bart in as the leader over Blackbeard. I say that because I see Black Bart to be a more competent leader because he actually didn't drink alcohol. whereas most, if not all, other pirates drank rum, most to excess, Black Bart strictly drank tea and even made attempts to limit the amount of rum that the pirates on his ship could have, knowing that they wouldn't operate as efficiently when they were drunk. He banned gambling on his ship in order to prevent disputes between the crew, set a bed time for his crew, and he stated any disputes are to be settled on the shore as gentlemen. Because of this, i feel like he would make a better leader than Blackbeard because Black Bart was very strict in the discipline of his crew.

Because Black Bart was the most successful pirate of all time. While I dont dispute the validity of Blackbeard, Black Bart was the more fitting leader. Blackbeard is a solid #2 though!

Black Bart commandeered or sunk over 470 ships, while Blackbeard only had 50. Blackbeard did roughly 10% of what Black Bart did. Roberts is the clear winner.

This is my most played mod. I unsubscribed all my mods and resubscribed some due to game crashes. Sad thing I am pretty sure yours was not one giving me problems.
