In all my tests so far I've failed to reproduce your issue of it taking ages to start unless there was insufficient power on the grid.
@screemer666 As to keep this mod usable for everyone, I won't be including other mod's ores.
If you have any issues with it, do let me know in detail what isn't working.
You place it down, it generates gravel and then you go over to your production menu like you would with an assembler, go to the mining drill production and then converts the gravel inside it into the resources you chose.
Cool mod, but the access ports on the side don't seem to be working.
Conveyors turn green, "connected", but conveyor sorters don't pull out the gravel automatically.
For our game server, we need an XXL Industrial Drill having a drill radius of 30 blocks to each side. The factions on our server build ships that must go underground and even have battles underground, but the current drill radius sizes restrict the size of our ships.
The drill itself could be 5x5x10 blocks in size. Maybe even two work modi: tunneling (30 blocks radius), and ore mining (10 blocks radius to each side, or 30 blocks but very slow). Can you do such a mod?
On Realistic Block inventory Size you will be unable to create the uranium due to the drill being unable to generate and store any more gravel.
If this is the case, it's best to use the 1x Uranium option instead and hold shift while selecting it to queue 100 of them.
ejeo, It does sound somewhat like them, yes, though it's required to be used on planets, asteroids, etc instead of needing a direct line of sight into the void.
It generates resources (gravel) as long as it's connected to any voxels with which you can turn those resources into any type of ore.
