@hlingler: Yeah, I wish that was possible too.

Great Mod, works well, as advertised. But should have a hotkey to restore default camera angle.

It crashes when I go into stratigic view.

As of today this mod works fine :)

@Nutzzz Thanks a lot for your reply.

GROOLEXX: Achievements are always disabled when the user goes through the MODS menu. However, you can replace the BNW WorldView.lua (in the subfolder of the Assets directory mentioned above) with the one included with this mod, and still accrue achievements.

Does it affect getting achievents?

z1u2: Yes, it works just fine with older saves.
z1u2 7 Mar, 2014 @ 12:41pm
is it compatable with pre saved games

That's a little sad... I tought that I maybe could help you and me with giving my review about that, because sometimes I just can't see things which I want to. Still - it's an very nice concept and I also like your other mods!
Nutzzz  [author] 18 Jan, 2014 @ 1:36am
LThMT: That's what the caveat ("doesn't work superbly") is talking about. No way to fix it, unfortunately.

I have an tip: if you rotate your view, you sometimes can't view some parts of the map, in cause of the normal position of the view. Maybe you could fix that an another time?
Joe 6 Jan, 2014 @ 2:41am
Awesome! I'll try it out as soon as possible!

(PS. first time I played Civilization I always tried to trun the view, but after a couple of ours I read that it's not possible)

This mod is amazing! This is the kind of feature that we should have had by default! I don't know about the limitations of Civ V Modding but here are some suggestions:
- A compass so we can know which way is up
- Camera movement with hold scroll wheel + mouse movement instead of keys (like in Tropico 4)

This is awesome

BlouBlou,
No, with the limited access we're given to the graphics engine, there'd be no way to implement anything like this from scratch. There's a very simple call that just wasn't being used.

To be clear, I'm not alpaca. I just liked the mod and took it on myself to keep it updated.
PenguinPouch 3 Aug, 2013 @ 5:50pm
this is pretty epic, i recommend it to anyone reading this =D
BlouBlou 3 Aug, 2013 @ 3:59pm
@Nutzz

you had to implement this feature from scratch ? or the mechanic is in the game but locked?

in any case its pretty neat, even with the map borders issue. =)

I would love to, but unfortunately, there's no hook to reset the camera. However, if you take a look at the trapezoid shape on the minimap, you can see which way it's facing (unfortunately, it's not really visible on the video since the map hadn't been explored yet).

This is cool as hell. You might want to consider making a key to reset to the default view though. Definitely trying this out though.

Per requests, video added.
