Good point, I forgot about the radio packs DHI added. They'll be in with the upcoming update along with SOG-PF DLC dependent version's release

I noticed the RTOs still used the Contact radios but DHI now has a great looking PRC-77.

The new SOG DLC has some great looking M17 respirators. Any chance we might get a version that uses the SOG DLC similar to how you made a version that uses GM? Also if you do decide to add the M17, I know this may differ from your view of this mod, but adding the USGI gloves in the NVG slot combined with the M17 respirator gives off that MBC "look."

Thanks for the link, but I'm wanting to keep the mod dependencies to a minimum (NIArms is going to be removed in upcoming update for a reference) and at the same time, I'd like to keep MOPP units so even though I'm not a fan of the vanilla MOPP gear for the time period as well, it will stay :(

I may yet make a variant of the mod that has a -massive- dependency list but attempts at a highly accurate depiction of US forces in the era and in that case, I'd use the suits from the CBRN mod and the M17 gas mask from Unsung and the M40 gas mask mod for late-80s units.

It's very lightweight.

Personally, I'd preffer no MOPP units if you have no choice but to use those contact dlc equipment, it just doesn't fit well.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm aware of most of those things and I hope this isn't taken as an excuse but it was what I had to work with back then. Next upcoming update when I get to working on it I should be able to get rid of NIArms dependency as well as replace the radio backpacks now with DHI's latest updates, and I haven't kept up with CUP in a while but if it now has time-period accurate Colt 4x scopes or Aimpoint 2000's, you can definitely expect the compm4 scopes to be replaced.

As for the MOPP units I'm aware of the modern and LDF camo being used but there aren't MOPP equipment that accurately depicts the 80s era on the workshop without exploding the dependency list with 10gb mods, so it will stay using contact DLC equipment unfortunately

I should note that I picked the LDF camo instead of the NATO one as it is more akin to M81 woodland pattern than the NATO one is, although I'd prefer to use time period accurate olive-drab suits if there are any on the workshop

As I said you did well but many little things need to be reworked (for example, the special forces M4 uses compm4 scopes, CUP has a more appropiate reflex scope, they also use the RHS protec helmet but the CUP version are better and with different variants). Thanks for the mod.

And by the way MOPP units use modern contact dlc gas mask and LDF camo. Radio operators also use radios with LDF camo, DHI now includes its own radio backpack.

I checked, the RHS HIDF faction only has M1025A1 humvees, which I already used for the late 80s units.

I have checked out 3CB's and their jeeps, and I actually know where they got the jeeps from and have access to it as well (CWR2, amazing mod for Arma 2 btw). But I do not plan on adding actual content as such, besides just using inheritance from RHS or CUP. I mean I might, I guess but that's further down.

Hi, I have a small suggestion that might be useful for vehicle accuracy. Have you seen the 3CB factions? They have the old jeeps and trucks from the timeframe and most of their content is RHS based too.

Sorry for the late response, I was away for the holidays. To answer your question, the vehicles in my mod only use included default skins that are originally provided by the RHS mods themselves. Nothing really custom, I just adjusted their units to actually use those selection of skins instead of just having them available as an option by default. I might add custom skins and other camos though.

do you also work on some MERDC skins for the US Army vechicles? I've already spotted the M113 with a MERDC camo in your mod. It would be awesome to see a HMMWV, the Bradley or Abrams tank with that! :steamhappy:

I wanted to keep to mod packages and avoid using individual mods like the M939 truck mod and everything else. I have checked it out and personally I use a version that uses it and other individual mods, cool stuff.

I might as well make a completely-RHS based or completely-CUP based versions though, it seems those are popular requests, but I'd have to add minor dependencies to compensate for things each of those versions won't have from the other versions.

I also wouldn't worry too much about the 'balance' between RHS and CUP weaponries, the differences are pretty minor, relatively speaking, if you look at their config files and notice they're essentially based on vanilla stats in the end anyway. The biggest differences between the two mods are really just quality and quantity of content.

As I've mentioned in the description and some of the past comments, I've used both CUP and RHS based on the availability of assets and a balance between qualities. I wouldn't be able to reach a level of quality I wanted to see for my own faction addon if I ONLY used either CUP or RHS. Also, a lot of the assets (some ALICE backpacks, M1 helmets, and PASGT vests [low quality vests albeit needed]) I wanted/needed to use were in CUP Units, I'm not sure if you are aware that it doesn't consist of only factions but also the uniforms, vests, and headgear items that the factions included in it uses. It's a matter of preference really, and there are plenty of mods out on the workshop that uses either CUP or RHS only.

But you only make use of the assets and not of the Factions themselves do you? I just dislike running RHS and CUP Units at the same time and I suggest not using CUP Weapons either as they don't go with RHS weapons as they aren't balanced between each other.

It is customary as workshop item publishers, to add the required addons of the addons required by your addons, to make subscriptions user-friendly and simple. Not everybody understands or wants to understand the complexities required addons can get into, so you'd just wanna include everything in your initial required addons list if you want to avoid problems later-on.

Yes, the addon only contains American factions as of now. I may or may not add a USSR faction at some point.
