@mrcool92 are you still planning to maintain the mod? Would you mind if someone else recompiles and reuploads the mod?
https://gist.github.com/HugsLibRecordKeeper/14e97b7f4d1f38a303c70475bbaac010
the mod works, you can ignore the version requirement for now
Maybe while trading as well?
The actual "best" moonshot UI solution I could think of would be much more difficult I think, because it would require something that currently doesn't happen in trade windows.
That would be having categories where it says like
"Timber Wolves"
"Chinchillas"
"Thrumbos"
"Panthers"
Having each animal type in either a tree menu or accordion menu.
With a tree menu you could have the option of sorting by things like sterilized or trained or whatever. With an accordion it could just show you all animals of that type individually, but would stop it from cluttering up the trade window with animals you didn't want to sell by leaving the category minimized.
I don't even know if it's possible to add anything like that to the trade window though.
For me the motivation is that I almost always play with Animal Genetics , a fantastic mod that gives animals individual differentiation - (i.e. you might come across a muffalo with 135% carrying capacity, and freak out to obtain/heal/protect it so you can breed that quality into _all_ of your future muffalos.) Adds a lot of depth to ranching.
But the trade UI is completely unaware of that, of course; so it'll stack a bunch of unrelated animals, and you have no idea if you're selling the runt of the litter or your legendary 140%-damage warrior warg or whatever.
Anyway, if it's out-of-scope for this mod, that's cool; even just being able to manually tweak it by marking the 'draft with master' is a help! Thank you!
Although I am incredibly grateful for the suggestion of master separation. Thank you kindly!
@ZokRadonh
It is possible to define extra rules when stacking of animals is allowed to happen. The last update of this mod includes a change of stacking if some animals have the setting that they should draft with their master. Animals that have this setting on will never share a stack with animals that do not draft with their master. This way you have some kind of manual fine control over the stacking mechanic.
It is questionable how further stacking rules over extend the goal of this mod. Do you have any idea how stacking should be better solved?
Thanks for the report! Will look into it!
sadly the last update broke trading for me, as in the trade window would no longer open and the pawn would just stand there / caravan would just idle.
Removed the mod and it works again.
zokradonh added some stack-splitting logic with the new update. I just need to know based on what stats you want to split animals. Are you telling me that different-gender animals are stacked?
Thank you so much! I love your work here!!
Done... will be up with next update.
Will look into it...
@Polysorbate42
It kinda looks like they forgot to add info text after animal name (like in trade menu) or there simply is no space for it. Gender and age icons are not displayed by default.
I will look into adding optional text just like in trade menu.
@Bruce Wayne
Sounds like an idea for mod.
@BloodyRain2k
@MrDrummer25
Sure. I will make it optional.
@Birds Aren't Real
This is just a UI tweak. It does not break save files.
Not to mention the corrections, like this one, correcting a part of the horrible UI and it's lack of information.
Thank you so much for your Mod Nixa, thanks to people like you Rimworld is awesome.
Updated for 1.2 and 1.3. You can find biological years under animals life stage tooltip.
That'd make it sooo much easier to choose the leader for a trading caravan.
Maybe also their Melee and Shooting skill next to their weapon / on weapon hovering.
It does not effect saved games in any way. You are safe.
What kind of problem? 0harmony.dll is used for 1.0 version. I will see what I can do.
Both caravan form and trade windows display gender and lifestage. Under Options -> Mod Settings -> Animals Gender On Caravan, there is a toggle for showing lifestage. This should be on by default.
I want to sell the oldest animals
Not sure what you mean. The social tab when a caravan is traveling?
