The Runestone bonus is too situational. It forces you to pile up tons of gold and buy units on one turn that you capture the camp.

Or is this supposed to be Viking Era Sweden Or Proto Sweden?

Theres Already A sweden in gods and kings so this is useless

Could you make Charles XII as an alternative leader or something?

Hi. None of your mods is working for me. I have all the DLC installed and followed all the steps you have written in the description, but the leaders never appeared on my selection screen when I tried to set up a new game. What might be the reason? P.S. I am having a compatible problem with official DLC scenarios <--- maybe that has something to do with it?

This mod made me love the barberians. Great mod.

I thought you were being typically (for Steam comments) snide-and-forget but since you actually seem sincere, I'll just give you the courtesy of elaborating - the Dawn of Man speeches aren't written as pedias; they are meant to set the tone for your leader; to build them up, and as such they take artistic liberties. If people are taking DoMs at face value, then the problem is far more endemic than this single instance.

@xbobgamerx, I think you have somewhat misread my comment. I did not refer to the Vita Anskarii as a king but as the book. The date referring to the period it depicts and very likely when it was written. I also wrote that it it was written by the archbishop of Bremen (or ordered by him).
As to wether Erik or his son was the first monarch of a "clearly defined" Sweden is a matter of interpretation or speculation, Seeing as Erik is the known founder of the dynasty I see no reason to redefine him from beeing the first historically credible king.

But then again, this is mostly just a question of semantics. (I know I'm prime culprit to that though).
sillstryparn 12 Jan, 2019 @ 2:17pm
@Red, Viita Anskarii was a book written by rimbert it wasn't a king, you should probably look up history of sweden again and rethink, Erik Segersäll was the first known king, but isn't said as the first king by us swedes, instead we say that Olof Skötkonung was the first monarch of sweden.

Fair enough, guess i'm a bit of a know it all spoilsport, i'm truly sorry JFD!. I regret the haughty tone and derisiveness of my comment, though not so much it's function. "artistic license" should be used sparingly in context with history, lest it morphs into missinformation or worse.
JFD  [author] 12 Jan, 2019 @ 5:23am
Whoever made this comment clearly needs to look up the phrase artistic liberty
Red 12 Jan, 2019 @ 1:13am
Disclaimer: Erik Segersäll (the victorious) (ca 945-970) is the first historically provable regent of Sweden. However he is not the first king according to the sagas (not even by a long shot). There are even historical anecdotes to earlier regents in the Viita Anskarii (865-876) by Archbishop Rimbert of Bremen.

Whoever made this mod clearly needs to look up the Ynglingasaga.

Medjed_Stan 10 Jan, 2019 @ 5:49pm

Kaktusplanta 9 Jan, 2019 @ 3:13am
I have downloadead it and i can see and activate the mod. But then when I am going to select the swedes as a civ, I cant find it. Any tips?
moe 8 Jan, 2019 @ 8:36pm
Ps. I just noticed JFD has instructions so you can also do the direct install above. If you still have trouble and want the civ that should work!
moe 8 Jan, 2019 @ 8:33pm
The default folder for mods is Documents > My games > Sid Meirer's Civilization 5 > MODS I think in current ver. of windows (I think). If you find a CIV5MOD File type, that's the one you want to unzip. I have better luck subscribing from within the game than from the Steam page so that might help too.
gustaf med F 7 Jan, 2019 @ 5:10pm
i dont get it, it gets downloaded but i cant find it anywhere.
gustaf med F 7 Jan, 2019 @ 4:49pm
@moe i cant find it in the mods folder,
gustaf med F 7 Jan, 2019 @ 4:34pm
oh ok thanks, gonna try that now,
moe 7 Jan, 2019 @ 4:16pm
Nice another excellent civ! Gustaf, it might not be unpacking. Go to the MODS folder and unzip it into a folder manually.
gustaf med F 7 Jan, 2019 @ 3:20pm
i am going to try the direct download and see if that works.
gustaf med F 7 Jan, 2019 @ 3:12pm
cool mod and good choice but it does not appear in the mod menu for some reason, any idea why?
Norton 6 Jan, 2019 @ 5:27pm
