What have found so far is if make a track section using combat steel and transition from the standard track section you drop speed or even stop dead. Also, anything along side the track like walkways can cut your speed in half (experimenting with trestle sections).

Been doing some experimenting with the halting issue, at least in RE2 (What can I say, I have a thing for trains). If I change the track sections so they are a consistent material and block size, the halting appears to be much less. Seems to be hit point related?

More experimenting to be done.

useless thumps down ,,omg

As I watched your video, I caught myself sitting here with my mouth open, in amazement. Nicely done!

It's amazing that it's still working. If stuck, press and hold the O and W keys at the same time! Your works are my favorites! Looking forward to your next work!

Amazing!

All your work is stellar stuff.

Omicron... HA hahaha I don't even know how this worx for EMP but that name... great name.
CrazyZ  [author] 5 Apr, 2021 @ 12:01am
That Omicron Express is a more than 2 year old build. I had to deal with the stopping issue as well. The solution to this is to raise the hover height to a certain point, like shown in the video. It always worked fine. Maybe after all the time and newer versions of Empyrion it might have changed. But I didn't test it yet, coz .man, that build is over 2 years old....
IVEN 3 Apr, 2021 @ 4:40pm
nice idea but its not working as it is , cause the train stops regularly and needs to press O C space bar and so on , more press more it gose out of the track

Hi, this is a really nice build, thanks for sharing. I did the track slightly differently. Instead of using a full block for the track I used 2 half blocks back to back. When you pull into a station you can almost eliminate the gap.

:-)) Awesome, and by the way - i guess you bring the mediterranean feelin' even to a lava planet
Shakuraz 4 Apr, 2020 @ 10:56am
absolutely awesome!!!
CrazyZ  [author] 4 Sep, 2019 @ 5:45pm
Thank you, Eon! It indeed was meant to be a RP build. :)
PhEONix 31 Aug, 2019 @ 8:57pm
That's very cool.
I can imagine some PVP worlds where people have this and have worked out whole complex RP scenes - just to be able to shuttle back and forth in this train... (a lot).....
"oh, I forgot my burger.... have to go back on the train again"

This makes me want to play Space Engineers... Honestly, combining the best of these two games would be the amazing game I want to play.
CrazyZ  [author] 23 Jun, 2019 @ 12:56pm
@Speculus: Oh, thank you for the info! Very useful! Thanks! :)
Speculus 26 May, 2019 @ 5:22am
As an FYI, if you use setrotation before you use setposition, the track section will teleport to the other side of the planet, every time (for me anyway). I was trying setrotation because I wanted to set some tracks/stations at a 30 degree heading instead of the required 0, 90, 180, 270 degrees that the game requires.
CrazyZ  [author] 24 May, 2019 @ 8:01am
Thank you for the tip, sf234. I tried it with ramp before, but I found it more dificult than putting it straight onto the track. But that´s just my personal experience. ;)

@Speculus: Thank you :) I don´t know. Never had that issue. But I also never used the setrotation command. Only the setposition command. It worked fine for me everytime.
Speculus 23 May, 2019 @ 2:23pm
Hi CrazyZ, I really like the mod, but I'm having a hard time moving the track. I can successfully setrotation command, but when I setposition, the track vanishes every time, even if I only try to move it 1 meter at a time. Granted, I am trying this in a hilly area, but any ideas what else could be the problem? I know this isn't a mod problem I'm having, more like inexperience in using the console commands.
sf234 1 May, 2019 @ 9:39am
For the last step of putting train on the rail. My solution is to use the block to build a ramp. Its easier to drive on the rail.
ShadyJ 23 Apr, 2019 @ 10:24pm
Hey man I've solved the sticking problem if you are interested. I've sent you an invite. And Sarah is right a switch is the solution for turning, an easy solution too!
Bollen 14 Apr, 2019 @ 1:49pm
Extraordinary!
pala0815 14 Apr, 2019 @ 4:23am
WOW, awesome!!!
Sarah 5 Apr, 2019 @ 5:10am
Think of it like pipe. Before we have curved pipe, the only way to make a turn on pipe was to use a cube where the pipe would turn and connect the pipe to it.
BraveCat 5 Apr, 2019 @ 2:07am
makes sense that it can only go straight but that is still magnifiscent. gonna have to use this in my SP world.
CrazyZ  [author] 5 Apr, 2019 @ 12:49am
Thank you all very much! :-) @Goggles TV: В видео это объясняется. ;) @Harrpoon: if I had the money, I would build some Empyrion stlye luxury villas in real life. :) @Sarah: I don´t seem to understand how that is meant to be working. If you try that out, please send me some screenshots, I´m very curious on how that workes out. :)
Sarah 4 Apr, 2019 @ 10:43pm
The reorientation station could also be used as a checkpoint where the train can go if it ever fall of the trail.
Sarah 4 Apr, 2019 @ 10:40pm
I might have a suggestion for curve. Instead of curve, you could have a reorientation station. Basicaly, the train arrive a the station from tunnel A into a big round circle with no track. The operator reorient the train toward tunnel B (or even C or D) and hit the gas. The train will embark on a new track toward it final destination. Start the track in a V shape to help align the train.
Lothlorian 4 Apr, 2019 @ 9:17pm
Dude this is awesome. Id tried to make a similar thing on a space station and it barely functioned. But this...this is amazing.
Harrpoon 2 Apr, 2019 @ 4:46am
Am afraid of what you would do in the real world... despite real limitations.
Your work is outstanding, thanks! :)
dave_7447 26 Mar, 2019 @ 1:59pm
Greatful thing!!! But how about turning left or right?
Tazzoman 25 Mar, 2019 @ 9:14am
Polaris needs this!

CrazyZ  [author] 12 Feb, 2019 @ 3:41am
Thank you very much, H.P. Strangelove and rafezetter88!
@swaffoara: I don´t know. I´ve built a track that covered about a 5th of a planet, though. ^^
H.P. Strangelove 11 Feb, 2019 @ 9:09pm
This is just insanely cool.
rafezetter88 10 Feb, 2019 @ 5:38pm
Why have they not hired you yet ???
R2D2 5 Feb, 2019 @ 3:45am
Прикольно. Вот бы он еще сам ездил ))
swaffora 1 Feb, 2019 @ 5:42pm
if no turns are possble what about runing a track around the planet lol that be just insane amount of work but still plausble tho you wood have to tunnle threw mountains and add a half step slop block every 1,000 blocks and probly 200.000 core's for the tracks lol yep it be wicked insane
:steamfacepalm:
CrazyZ  [author] 31 Jan, 2019 @ 1:16am
@vitamix: к сожалению, да
FreeHunter 30 Jan, 2019 @ 9:29pm
Один только вопрос - этот hover только по прямой ездит?
Detective Dan 29 Jan, 2019 @ 12:44pm
Could just be the nature of Empyrion too. Will have to build a machine shop for trains to go into for maintenance.....
CrazyZ  [author] 29 Jan, 2019 @ 4:03am
I also tried to compensate that "leaning" beheaviour with additional hover engines. Dind´t work.
CrazyZ  [author] 29 Jan, 2019 @ 4:02am
I was aware of that. I outbalanced the train before I released it. Check out the center of mass and gravity. In my opinion it gets stuck if the train is "touching" one side of the track more than the other side. I correct that by minimum side thruster use. Also the position of the train on the track seems to reset if you restart your game, so you have to adjust it again before moving.
Detective Dan 29 Jan, 2019 @ 1:46am
it appears the reason it ends up getting stuck is there is a very slight lean on the train. Holding O solves it more or less but there's a weight distribution issue somewher. hard to pinpoint
CrazyZ  [author] 17 Jan, 2019 @ 9:31am
Thanks to everyone! Appretiate it very much! :-)
InertFurry 17 Jan, 2019 @ 1:09am
Wow this is completely impractical and wonderfully overengineered.
warboy 16 Jan, 2019 @ 5:27pm
Mate, this is fkn impressive!

Maybe you could use a large, flat round surface to hover onto as a "turntable" then at least you could do 90 degree corners?
piddlefoot 16 Jan, 2019 @ 4:04pm
Utterly outstanding dude, well done !
Devs should make it a perma rail for Omicron !
