Hi there Jade, well, that cube holder is like bonus challenge or easter egg too. I was hoping that seeing it at the end would puzzle players. There are severall splats (clues) through out the level. If you "understand" their connection you can get the companion cube and place it on that cube holder as an additional trophy. [ ] The purpose of having to get the sphere in the end is to force the player to re-enter room 1 from another perspective (from the other side of the room) giving him the joy of entering what it seemed an inaccessible area, but, most importantly, making him spot that dropper you talked about and associate it with the holder. Glad you enjoyed room 2 also. Thanks for the feedback [ ]

Hi there gs34717 [ ] Glad you liked the chamber. If you want to try to find the companion cube just follow the stain clues.
and if you liked this chamber you may test my other one Se7en Sins . It's a bit more challenging.
gs34717 6 Aug, 2013 @ 12:25am
nice! remember me? you asked me to check your chamber out and it is pretty awesome! but i also couldn't find the companion cube...
♜ SAmAS ♜  [author] 5 Aug, 2013 @ 11:45am
To anyone that might be interested, I got a brand new chamber up. It's called Se7en Sins, where each chamber represents a Sin. Hope you have fun with it [ ]

Cool man, no help needed then! Well, it doesn't fo anything too much impressive x) Just a space modifier to make it different from when you don't find it. Congrats anyway [ ]
CrozB 4 Aug, 2013 @ 6:48pm
nm. Just finished it! Very nice. Didn't find the companion cube though. Very curious about what that cube button does at the end.
♜ SAmAS ♜  [author] 4 Aug, 2013 @ 6:30pm
No, You don't need to go to the other side, you can do it from where you are in Room 1. In which part are you stuck?
CrozB 4 Aug, 2013 @ 6:00pm
Are you suppoesed to get to the other side of the sludge in room one to get the sphere on its button?
CrozB 4 Aug, 2013 @ 5:50pm
So, I can't figure it out. Good job I guess. Just frustrating. Didn't even get the first room.
Bagelator 31 Jul, 2013 @ 4:53am
Or just assume that people aren't as retarded as I am lol
Bagelator 31 Jul, 2013 @ 4:51am
Oh god I guess I did, I wasn't supposed to go there I guess? Too bad it allowed me to portal there, I didn't know that was the pinball room :/ try making it so it's impossible to portal there haha :D

How many of you that played the map have found and retrieved the Weighted Companion Cube?
♜ SAmAS ♜  [author] 29 Jul, 2013 @ 1:15pm
Hey DeatHawk, I'm glad your enjoying!
The Bagelator, what last room are you talking about? There are no wrong aereal plates there, unless you ventured yourself deeper on the "pinball" part of room 1. Is that the case?
Bagelator 29 Jul, 2013 @ 12:48pm
Try my chambers and review them too :D
Bagelator 29 Jul, 2013 @ 12:48pm
Good puzzles, but I ragequit as in the last room right before the exit you could get launced into the acid just because you stepped on the wrong areal plate, wtf?? so frustrating because there's no checkpoints so you have to do it all over again. Other than that it was a clever and fun level :)
DeatHawk S.D.V 29 Jul, 2013 @ 12:46pm

nicklonium 27 Jul, 2013 @ 12:30pm
I only used the orange funnel to get to the cube button in room 2. Room 1 was solved by placing a portal in the upper right area before the fizzler/behind and 1 square above the grating and another portal to take control of the orange funnel. Trigger the sphere dropper and the ball will be dragged into the orange funnel. While still standing on the pressure button, place a portal in the bottom left where the sphere button is while keeping the portal that controls the orange funnel in place. Step off the pressure button and the ball falls through the portals onto the ball button. Hope that's clear enough, I can always make a .dem if it isn't.

Hey there Timcan, thanks for the feedback. I left that area dark on purpose, not a big room nor much to do there so I made it obscure with a weird franken cube on it. Just saw you have a lot more maps there, gonna explore the rest of them when I got the time to do so [ ]
Timcan2904 27 Jul, 2013 @ 12:21pm
Hey, just played your chamber it is really good the only problem for me was it was kinda dark in some places like the area with the Franken cube but overall awesome job!
♜ SAmAS ♜  [author] 27 Jul, 2013 @ 12:20pm
Hey nicklonium, the cube button at the exit door is a bonus (easter egg) there is a companion cube hidden in the level. I left some clues through the map, but not too obvious, they are there however. Could you tell me how did u solve room 1? Cause I think there is only one shortcut to it, but it is not too big. I know about the grating glitch in room 2, exploiting it for the cube was not the idea, but, it think it was not a big deal (did u use the orange tractor anytime to bring the cube next to you?).
Thanks for the feddback, really appreciated it [ ]
nicklonium 27 Jul, 2013 @ 12:10pm
That was impressive for a first test chamber, certainly some very ambitious ideas in here although some could be executed better e.g. I'm pretty sure I didn't do the first room the way you intended, most of the mechanics you've set up in that room appear to be useless (unless they were all intentional red herrings). The grating glitch is also something to watch out for in the second room, I used it to get the cube but I'm not sure if this was the intended way and the room may need some tweaking if Valve ever fixes that glitch/you may want to change it so this glitch can't be abused. The main entrance room was a good idea, I quite liked how the player gradually reached the necessary height and the light bridge as each part of the chamber got solved although I'm not sure why there was a cube button near the exit door.

Okay, the last update solved the lights problem. Impure, I also read your comment and took it into account. I set a fizzler at the Room 3 entrance. And the main entrance hole is not an issue, you probably missed the white panel on the roof or you had some previous version. The mini rooms of room 2 are numbered correct, because room 2 is exactly the same as the main hall, but it is upside-down and its colors are mostly switched back, so what is white in room 1 is black in room 2, and vice-versa. Have you found Weighted Companion Cube? It's a little bonus challenge, the last update makes it easier to get, hope you try it out, ok?

Thanks for the feedback [ ]
♜ SAmAS ♜  [author] 27 Jul, 2013 @ 9:33am
In the last update the hole has a way back. But the last update also messed up the light of my items (buttons and aerial fate plates and droppers lost their lights!!). Anyone knows how to solve this?
impure 27 Jul, 2013 @ 9:10am
That was the hardest map I ever played. I got stuck twice in this map. One in room 3 where I portaled out with no way back in and again after room 3 when I fell in the hole without having a way back up. Also the mini-rooms in room 2 are not numbered correctly. Assuming the lights correspond with the rooms.

Ok, just changed some things on it, so you have easier way outs of places.
♜ SAmAS ♜  [author] 27 Jul, 2013 @ 5:10am
What I can do is making that main floor tunel have a more reachable escape mechanism, I will look into that option.
♜ SAmAS ♜  [author] 27 Jul, 2013 @ 5:08am
Hey MaRV, What place can't you escape from? I think I covered all places. If you're talking about the hidden place, well, it's going to stay that way just because I don't want it to be accessed from the room it is on, that's why I added the deadly goo there. I could make an additional tunel or something like that, but i can't add any more items to my map =|
Now, if you're talking about the main floor tunel, you can get out. Also the gimmick is kind of incremental, it is not exactly the same the various times.
MaRV 26 Jul, 2013 @ 10:07pm
I think that an idea is good.
But I gave up on the way.
I want you to correct the place whose escape becomes impossible.
I also regard the gimmick which does not need to be used with it as many.

(4/2) I thought about that, changing something when you place the cube, so the player would be more rewarded, but I had, again, an object limit. =|
ahah my name with light strips would require another room, larger than Room 1 x) I guess i accepted the idea of just being an extra challenge for players.

I thought of placing a flip panel in Room 1, only accessable from the end part fo the level, so players, after placing the sphere, could go back and try to find the cube, but I decided not too, and kind of forcing players to replay if they wanna find it. What do you think about this? Should I place it?

Thanks for your awesome feedback, I will play that devious chamber of yours x)
♜ SAmAS ♜  [author] 25 Jul, 2013 @ 6:35am
(3/2) Congrats dude! I think your the first one to find it! I didn't want to make it too obvious. And yeah you can get stuck in the place with the button =| nothing I could do there, just placed an acid goo for players to die quick and painfuly.
♜ SAmAS ♜  [author] 25 Jul, 2013 @ 6:33am
(2/2 continuation) I had another idea for Room 3, but the limit of items was reached x) so I had to improvise and play with less items. I initially wanted to progressively open the room, it would start out small, but it would progressively turn higher and deeper by pressing buttons, but there were no more resources =| and I wanted the top part really dark , even if it would ruin some player orientation (the room is already too small, so not alot of places to search). In this room the player finally enters portals, in fact the main idea of the room is to enter portals a lot x).
♜ SAmAS ♜  [author] 25 Jul, 2013 @ 6:33am
(2/2) In room 2 I guess you already find out the meaning of the gel splotch, it's like a "connection" to where it triggers. There is a light bridge in that room because I didn't want people to have to go back to the main hall and "fetch" their light bridge, i tried myself, and found out it was kind of boring. So they have to do that one time (or 2 till they find out what to do) and then they have permanet access to the light bridge in the room. In this room I still wanted to players not to be able to access portals, but now they have a closer approach and can manipulate them in closequarters. (This kind of relates to the floor tunel of the main room: at first you can't shoot any portal through it, then you can shoot and fetch a light bridge, and then you finally can enter a portal)
♜ SAmAS ♜  [author] 25 Jul, 2013 @ 6:33am
Hey there MagmaMcFry, thanks for your feedback! I will try to answer all of your interrogations and recomendations.

(1/2) Yeah, I did had some problems with the portability of Room 1. My original idea was to do a symetric glass+grate, but then I realized that some teleportation places would ruin the puzzle. I also did want to have all that part of the puzzle to be white, to contrast with where you are. In that first room you can not access portals and can only manipulate them by far. I will try to tweek the chamber and maybe exchange some parts of it with more glass, so that ALL grate areas are used for teleportation.
I dont't if you noticed, but there is also gel splotch in this room, to the left ;)
Magma 24 Jul, 2013 @ 11:23pm
(4/2) Maybe you could have something awesome happen when you put the companion cube on its pressure plate? Maybe a panel opens into a room with your name written on the wall with light strips?

You can have a go at my puzzles too, if you like. Tell me if you solve the second one, because that would make you the first person to solve it.
Magma 24 Jul, 2013 @ 10:40pm
(3/2) Ha, I got the companion cube! Awesome easter egg, although you'll have to play it a few times to actually get to it. Also I got stuck once in the place with the button that drops the companion cube.
