I could only play it without additional mods, something wasn't working. And there were still problems with saving, so I had to get through without dying. That worked and it was fun. Thumbs up!
That is something called dynamic simulation that I enable for my missions. It allows for better performance during missions by only simulating what is in the area around the player. I'm sorry you had an unpleasant experience with this mission.
However, I went and checked the mission, and the player character's audible and camouflage trait values are still set at half their default values. So, your character is indeed harder to spot and hear. Not sure what happened on your end. Arma can be buggy at times.
In terms of the difficulty, yes you are outnumbered, but you do not need to kill 100+ people to complete the primary objective nor the optional objectives. I tested this mission many times to try to ensure players did not need to do that.
It could be an issue with your difficulty settings because this mission, as with all my missions, are set to use your difficulty settings by default. So, none of my custom difficulty values are being set. I would recommend you change your AI precision to somewhere between the .20 - .50 range. Anything after that and you’re basically asking to get one-shot by the AI. The AI skill value could be anything.
The mission briefing specifically mentions that the player is harder to notice (due to his skills) but my play experience was that I was noticed much, much more, than in any other mission that I remember. I was recognized from much farther away, regardless of hiding and regardless how quietly I tried to move.
The player is outnumbered 1 to 110. Since I got noticed by every single enemy right away, I don't believe it's possible to play this without shooting all enemies. Since the player is alone, this is nearly impossible. The enemy AI shoots perfectly - during my play-through, the enemy AI missed maybe 3 shots. Almost every time they shot at me, I got killed.
This is a very frustrating experience; I cannot recommend this mission as it is.
Fun and varied setpieces, clear and lively presentation, and some minor UI tweaks for variety.
Seriously, this is a well thought out and worked out singleplayer mission.
Worth a CASUAL player's time.

Just had one minor issue at the end - well, technically right after the end. Did all the quests, escaped the island, screen faded out normally, but then insted of debriefing statistics screen I got a "You died" loading screen. In mission menu it's still considered active, not finished.
Will try to replay from last save sometime later and report back if anything changes.
