Add this mod to Nexus also. I have a DRM-free copy and I want to play/use some mods too!

I was just annoyed at the tutorialness of it all, it introduces elements one at a time for too long. I want to deck damn it, good to see i'll be satisfied later on at least. And no looting corpses or random encounters? I mean even the Sega one had random encounters, and random decking where you could sell the Data for some quick Nuyen. I was sad to see that wasn't the case in the base campaign. Still, looking forward to your campaign here guy.

@Mastergeek: I agree, though mine was a combat decker (lots of points in shotgums), I found my PC far better at decking later in the game then any NPC I could hire, even the (in)famous Dodger. I was thrilled when I crushed the corp deckers underheel in the final run. I found the decking far more effective than the magic in the game.

I don't understand people's issue with the basic campaign. It's what Shadowrun is supposed to be. A seeminglly basic run situation takes a nasty twist and becomes completely unexpected. The runner is screwed left and right and in the end did end up helping but the end result isn't the fairy tale happy ending you'd hope for. That's what Shadowrun IS.

Also, in regards to people in threads saying "don't spend karma here or there," people, make the character you want. All I read on opening day was "Don't built a straight decker." But that's what I wanted, so it's what I built. I played through the game just fine and had some really fun Decker moments.

The Berlin Campaign is supposed to be more open-world and more similiar to the Genesis game. :)
@3 spawns at once: Without further information, I can´t help you on this one.

Thanks to all you people working to improve this game, I mean I like it but clearly it needs a better campaign than the basic one, hopefully with nice rpg things like random encounters.

I managed to get 3 seperate events like in the video, but when my actor spawning event happens it sometimes spawns 3 enemies at once. This usually happens the first time it triggers. Curious what could be causing this. It seems like maybe entering combat is causing the trigger to fire off again and again without leaving the region.

Took me one night without sleep to get the hang of it (and Brians tutorial vids). You can do it! ;)

Great tutorial! Lookin forward to tryin this out. Still pretty intimidated by the editor.

@D - Man: Randomized encounters don't need to result in karma points. And shouldn't, in my opinion, since random killings wouldn't be very karma worthy.

Badass!

Shadowrun Rocks! As an Old-School SR player of over 20 years, HBS delivered! I know there are lots of folks that are more interested in pointing out the faults, but really? I have full confidence that HBS will deliver on multi-player and the other things that the SR community wants. I suggest that those that are unsatisfied, learn how to use the editor and use your own creativity to overcome whatever perceived faults you have with the gameplay experience. Remember, for 17.99 this was less than the Sega Saturn cartridge!

I love this idea but wouldn't randomising encounters ruin/unbalance the karma rewards and levelling up for the campaign games?

Thanks, great tutorial:B1:

If you are willing to put the work behind it, you can indeed randomize *almost* if not everything. The Genesis Remake project intends to do randomized Runs.
O'Connell 26 Jul, 2013 @ 4:33pm
I'm very interested in randomizing any number of things. I hope you will find a way to randomize anything from quests that are given to random responses. Random is good! Thanks Chummer!

For a head's up.. Shadowrun Returns has added in the community hub areas for guides here:
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/app/234650/guides/
and videos here:
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/app/234650/videos/
Hope this helps you get more views by being in the right sections! Good Luck and keep up the great work!
Takk806 25 Jul, 2013 @ 1:48pm
awww! Aight thx a lot! Looking forward to play one of your UGC ;-)
McDougal  [author] 25 Jul, 2013 @ 1:40pm
It doesn´t. It is a resource, meant to be an example for GM´s who want to include such mechanics in their own UGC.
Takk806 25 Jul, 2013 @ 1:27pm
I,m lost! Does your stuff (this and the random loot and stuff) works in the main campain that comes with the game at launch?
McDougal  [author] 25 Jul, 2013 @ 1:16pm
I edited the description to show how to get Editor-ready files after subscribing. I hope that helps. :)
Sebron 25 Jul, 2013 @ 12:30pm
Oh I definitely am, and it wasn't a slam at you or the video.. In fact I enjoyed it. I'm just hoping we get a good guide section. Also wasn't sure if subscribing came with tutorial files used in the video or whatnot.. workshop itself can be a bit confusing at times.
McDougal  [author] 25 Jul, 2013 @ 12:19pm
There doesn´t seem to be an option for me to add such a tag- otherwise I´d be glad to tag it appropriately. And instead of seeing it as "clutter", shouldn´t you rather be glad that the Workshop isn´t empty? ;)
Sebron 25 Jul, 2013 @ 12:06pm
Good videos so far, but what's up with the tagging? does this import new story elements, or new characters and import characters? It looks to be a guide and should get tagged in the guide stuff. Don't clutter up the community stuff from day one, pls.
