I'm not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but I find it disappointing that Privateers (and their Dutch replacement, Sea Beggars) upgrade into Cruisers (again, or their civ's equivalent) which are incapable of melee attack. This renders the Prize Ships promotion, the key feature of Privateers, essentially useless in the later game.

I can see this mod hasn't been updated since 2015 so chances for a fix are low, but if by any chance eyes are still on here, it'd be a much-appreciated change to either make Cruisers able to melee attack in the same way Carracks and Galleons can, or to change the upgrade path for Privateers to feed into Destroyers like it does in the base game.

I'm getting a weird error where my land unit action buttons are all mixed up and switched out with random actions so I can't tell what I'm making my land units do, is there a way to fix this?

Am I correct in assuming that this mod only works with the original 'generic' civs and not with modded civs even if they do not have a naval unit as a special unit? For example, I tried this with JFD's Hitler/Germany mod, but could not build any of the ships listed here. But, when I substituted the generic Bismarck/Germany (and still used other mods like JFD's Churchill and De Gaulle) I found them on my build list.

Kongou was always a battlecruiser, that was what it was designed as. It was a battlecruiser from the Dreadnought era to be precise. The title of fast battleship was coined once dreadnoughts fell out of use. The only reason it was called as such was because it was faster than Japans other battleships and battlecruiser fell out of use with the dreadnought. It was the oldest battleship in their navy by the time of World War II

Well, now i started a new game with both mods enable, and its working fine...and that's probably because, even if in a map with a lot of seas, eras were rushed and very few galleons were built. Still, those fews keep glitching, their model disappears and/or is replaced with random models. For the rest is a good mod. But being a rebalancing mod too, i'd have liked an increased variety on late game, its boring with just nuclear submarines and missile cruisers (And carriers if u like them, but speaking of mere naval combat, their are just there for the sake of playstyle)

RED and My mod Modded the same files. I worked out balances for power not just models. They are unlikely to ever be compatbile

Man pls check the mod, especially galleons, as everytime there is a battle that involves them them game randomly crash. Also, i point them out for another issue, as their model often disappears leaving just their floating icon to be seen. And yes i have RED modpack, but hey, seems to happen with only 1 ship, rlly there's no way to make it compatible?

@Silver Crescent I have the 1929-1935 stylization of the Kongo. Which is a battleship. The Fast battleship was the refitting in 1935. The Yamato as a battleship was purely a fun decision as i have the Dreadnought class as a powerful class and not the original series of ships pre dating world war II.

The Yamato is not a dreadnought, it is a super battleship, the Kongo is a fast battleship or battlecruiser. you got most of the others right

Ah, I'm sorry I forgot to delete this comment, but I'll leave it here in case someone else wants to know. But Platinum Mad on Steam has made a Corvette mod and said he's working on a Dreadnought one in the comments of the Corvette he made.

@Kachelhofer thank you. It might relate to another mod you have that modifies it, but i'll check the code. It shouldn't crash your game as the victory is just a name really, unless other ships of that type also do the same thing.

Can you make a mod that adds just the Dreadnought? I just want a mod that adds the dreadnought and not the rest. Like the Pallada Armored Cruiser Mod. The reason I want just that is, because I only want some industrial/modern units.

Nice job on this! You are an officer and a gentleman.

One problem I'm having though... maybe it's just a compatibility issue with the other mods I'm running along side yours in this particular game, but whenever I try to bombard a target with the HMS Victory hero ship unit for the English, it instantaneously crashes the game. No error dialogue or anything. It's kind of weird, as I'm in the late 1700's, with early modern era techs on marathon game length and haven't had any major problems prior to now. I'm able to bombard fine with all the other ships, but not that one. I've tried checking game file integrity and all that too.

howdy mate. I have the v10, I also have the companion mod. I noticed further down in the comments that you combined the Companion mod into v10, so does that mean I no longer need to have the companion added?

Also for some reason or another (possible an imcompatibility issue) I am not getting any of the ships showing up in the civilopedia, or any indication that the mod is actually working.
Currently in the process of testing to see if any of my mods are incompatible, will let you know if I find one.

Do you know of any other reason why I might be having this issue?

@ms_mic if you follow the link on ethnic page, it will give you a version of ethnic that works with my mod. I disclaim it to work with ethnic because i didn't make it work, he did.

You wil need Expanded Naval Immersion for the Ethinic Units Compatible version.

However, in this description, you said "This mod will not work with Ethnic Units"

Can you check flavors settings for Galleons?
I have never seen AIs using galleons instead of Prigates when Galleons are obviously so much better.
