Hey TrevorJD,
Totally understand buddy, thanks for the reply.
Cheers

Hi Datamonkey, sorry but no. I'm not a talented developer, just a hack. Behind the scenes, the well is an "Underground Water Pipe" with an inventory stuck on with hot-glue so you can fill your jars. I tried at the time but was unable to find a way to simulate "always has water". If someone can show me how to do that, I'd be happy to update but I don't care to spend hours searching for something that may not be there!

Hey loving this mod, i understand you're no longer playing the game, but would it be possible to make the water pump place-able in any water source, ie the sea? Glad to see your keeping it upto date. Modders like yourself help keep the game alive.

Thanks for the kind words, Lordpickleboy. It doesn't take much for me to recompile and test. The real hero is the generous player who gave a random internet guy (me) money to repair my computer so I could load the dev kit!

Just wanted to take a few seconds to say I salute you TrevorJD for keeping a mod working on a game you dont really play This mod works and there are not many mods left for this game the mod community is mostly dying except for dumb or niche things
TrevorJD  [author] 18 Feb, 2021 @ 10:25pm
I don't play Atlas now so I don't care to spend time adding new features. I'm just aiming to recompile the mod as needed to keep it functional.
NeverKlever 18 Feb, 2021 @ 9:37am
is it possible to make it so water barrels can be added to the well inventory and filled that way?
Joew 31 Jan, 2021 @ 8:05am
@TrevorJD thanks for ur reply, i really appreciate ;)
Idw about atlas or any unreal modding, but there are an old mod Peachy Ships Decor. In this mod has a barrel that replenishes the water over time. Maybe you can add this function to your Water Well. Idk if its possible, but i think it could be a tip ;)

Even if u can't do, thanks for support and this really nice mod ;)
TrevorJD  [author] 31 Jan, 2021 @ 12:07am
Unfortunately I can't. The well is basically an "Underground Water Pipe" in disguise, I believe the water related programming is "behind the scenes" stuff that modders don't have access to. However, if a more experienced modder can point me in the right direction, I'm happy to take another look.
Joew 27 Jan, 2021 @ 6:39am
Ty very much!

But could you create an ini option to don't need be at Water Richest places, please?
TrevorJD  [author] 22 Nov, 2020 @ 3:36am
Tested tonight in a singleplayer Blackwood with two of my other mods. All seems to be working fine, no errors, no crashes. It's filling water jars and feeding pipes and taps as expected.
indigowulf 21 Jul, 2020 @ 10:09am
Actually, there is a big difference between this and the reservoir. First, it's SO much prettier. Second, I tested them both at the exact same location, and the well fills up so much faster I could not even get a good comparison because it was too fast for proper timing!
TrevorJD  [author] 19 Apr, 2020 @ 8:18am
@dunawayc Probably nothing, now. When I wrote the mod, the vanilla reservoirs only collected rainwater. I think they got updated later to be a water source.
dunawayc 18 Apr, 2020 @ 10:39am
What is the difference between this well and the vanilla water reservoir?
BushDoktor 6 Apr, 2020 @ 12:51pm
This is a must have mod. Love it.
silver 6 Apr, 2020 @ 5:34am
I am so happy, I will give this a shot - tks so much
TrevorJD  [author] 6 Apr, 2020 @ 4:13am
Mod has been updated, April 2020. Working OK in singleplayer.
silver 16 Dec, 2019 @ 10:19am
This never came up as craftable so will try the cheat code and see if that works - will give feedback
silver 14 Dec, 2019 @ 2:46am
Worth trying even if a dead mod because of the water shortage in the game - which is very annoying apart form the temps killing you more often than beasts
BushDoktor 1 Sep, 2019 @ 11:25pm
Works great in SP. Just have to remember to look for the blue text telling you how much water is available before placing the well. It might need a relog the first time you place one, but after they fill pretty fast. My only problem is connecting pipes to it but probably my error, not the mod. LIKE IT!
TrevorJD  [author] 5 May, 2019 @ 5:26am
The good news is that I've semi-confirmed they've changed things. I'm told the vanilla Reservoir now auto-refills when placed on grassland so they've definitely changed how water structures work. The bad news is that I won't be able to update until I can get my PC fixed.
TrevorJD  [author] 3 May, 2019 @ 7:25am
Something must've changed. On my test server it was refilling about as quickly as I could take out the full ones and put empty ones back in.
Tachyon 2 May, 2019 @ 8:45am
It does fill very slowly, but it does eventually fill up and as it does so it fills containers. :)
TrevorJD  [author] 2 May, 2019 @ 1:37am
No, it doesn't require rain, that's the point of the mod. When you look at the well, it should display the water level like 500/500 or similar. It should have an inventory that allows you to refill your water skins and water jars. Water will be removed from the internal tank and refill quickly (a few seconds). It should also feed water into attached pipes and taps (which can also be used to refill your containers).

If it's not filling containers, nor supplying water to attached taps and pipes, then I can only guess that recent changes to the game have broken the way that water works. Unfortunately due to PC issues at my end, I don't have the game, nor the dev kit, nor a test server at the moment, so I'm not able to load it up and check. The 'when' will be whenever I can get a job and prospects aren't rosy at the moment.
brehmluke 29 Apr, 2019 @ 7:58pm
I'm not sure if I'm missing something. From the description it sounds like this well produces water but I put one down and my pipes aren't working. Does this require rain?
Tachyon 23 Apr, 2019 @ 4:37am
I found what I was doing wrong! I had assumed it was like Well mods in Ark and just immediately provided water. I noticed it filled up a bit when it rained, so I now realize it acts a bit like a barrel (with no need for a lid) that you can attach pipes to. My bad. :)
TrevorJD  [author] 22 Apr, 2019 @ 3:51pm
@NeverKlever Sorry for the late reply. A pipe-connected stove is outside the scope of this mod plus I'm not sure that I have the skills for such a mod anyway :) I'm sure that someone else will make one as it's something I wanted, too.

@Tachyon Check if you can fill waterskins/jars in it. That doesn't require anything more than placing the well on the ground so eliminates the possibility that it's your mistake. If it doesn't fill the jars then ask other players to confirm.
Tachyon 22 Apr, 2019 @ 2:49am
I quite understand. It might be just me, you never know, because I haven't seen anyone else on the server mention it either. Thanks for the reply. :)
TrevorJD  [author] 22 Apr, 2019 @ 2:10am
I'm sorry but I don't have the dev kit or game installed at the moment due to lack of disk space. It's possible that recent updates have broken something but since the mod has ~4600 subscribers, I'd expect a lot more reports. I'll check in daily from now in case that happens.
Tachyon 21 Apr, 2019 @ 5:03pm
Is the well currently working? I've tried placing one on the server I play on and it doesn't seem to provide water. Is there anything else I need to do to get it to work?
NeverKlever 12 Feb, 2019 @ 10:13pm
would it be a thing if you could make a advanced cooking stove that has a connection for a water pipe so we can cook freely with out having to stop and refill the water?
TrevorJD  [author] 12 Feb, 2019 @ 5:44pm
@Stuleo Added the full spawn code to the description. Not sure if the ark method of replacing engrams works in atlas since engrams are handled differently, but let me know!
Stuleo 12 Feb, 2019 @ 11:27am
Great Mod :-)
Helps a lot for the islands without any water on it.

Could youtell me the engramclass of it? Because i want to disable it on my server and only "sell" it, so it does not get too easy (and it forces the players to go to the capitol)

Thank you

The gunpowder/fertilizer bug is a problem with the dev kit and it affects all mods :(
DealTime 8 Feb, 2019 @ 9:53pm
@TrevorJD Yeah but create bug with gunpowder and the fix for that create another bug, when your well is so nice. :P
TrevorJD  [author] 8 Feb, 2019 @ 2:50pm
@DealTime Check out the mod "Water Weight Balance". It makes a normal reservoir with a large capacity.
DealTime 8 Feb, 2019 @ 8:31am
Can u make a Well that work like Reservoir and fill up with water only when its raining. because at the moment , well work perfectly but too easy , infinite water everywhere, but I hate their water reservoir vanilla, I mean a well go find water underground, but maybe implant a difficulty to get water. Thanks for this amazing work!
TrevorJD  [author] 7 Feb, 2019 @ 1:20pm
I just tested on my private server and it seems to be working fine. I put down a crop plot next to my well, it said "Not Irrigated". I connected an Irrigated Water pipe to my well and the plot changed to "Irrigated". I picked up the plot then put it down again and it was immediately irrigated.

You do have to use "Irrigated Water Pipes" near the crop plots, not straight water pipes. Is that the problem?

If you're already using irrigated water pipes, perhaps its a conflict with another mod that provides different water pipes or crop plots?
Goober 7 Feb, 2019 @ 10:27am
after latest update well broken
Something wrong with the stone well? It's got water in it, but it wont irrigate my crop plots.
TrevorJD  [author] 3 Feb, 2019 @ 12:59pm
That's a known issue with the dev kit and its affecting all mods. Front page of the mod list is a mod that fixes that.
-=|SINBAD|=- 3 Feb, 2019 @ 11:50am
For some reason when I installed your mod on a hosted server, it causes all the fertilizer to convert to Ark fertilizer and breaking all the crop plots. I tried destroying and placing new plots with new fertilizer which worked, but as soon as the server restarted, it was broke again. Your mod is the only mod I'm running. Any ideas?
TrevorJD  [author] 2 Feb, 2019 @ 3:08pm
If you're running a mod that alters the vanilla smithy it *may* result in the recipe not being visible. The spawn code should work fine. It does on my private server. Try the following and see what happens. First: cheat gfi wood_base 1 0 0
If you get a piece of wood then we know that you do have admin powers.
Then: cheat gfi well 1 0 0
Assuming nothing else adds something called 'well' then you should get mine.
Kamaka 2 Feb, 2019 @ 2:28pm
Had a question, I see the well in the skills took the basic farming but when i look in the smithy it isnt there as an option to craft , I am also unable to spawn it in with the command provided
